Mr Authur David Alley, Sr, 66 of Union Mills, NC, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel. Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Mr Alley served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Carrie Lena Abernathy Alley.

He is survived by his life companion, Sherry Holland of Union Mills; 1 son, Authur David Alley Jr of Union Mills; 1 step-son, Jeremy Holland of Union Mills; 1 brother, Rev William "Bill" Alley of Ellenboro NC; 4 sisters, Irene Robinson of Maiden NC, Edna Miller of Portsmouth, VA, Grace Harris of Rutherfordton NC and Judy Pruett of Spindale, NC; 2 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; and a number of other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 61 Broadway 6th Floor, New York, NY 10006.
