Book A-D, No 1
<This Indenture made the twenty sixth day of April one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine, between Williams Dunn of the one part and Samuel Reed of the other, Both of Rutherford County in the province of North Carolina. Witnesseth That the said William Dunn for and in consideration of seventy five pounds lawful money of North Carolina have bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents doth bargain sell and confirm unto the said Samuel Reed the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged one certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and eighty three acres, lying and being in the county of Rutherford on both sides of a small branch of far far Camp Creek and bounded as follows: Beginning at a Red Oak thence North 27 East 180 Poles to a Red Oak thence South 13 East 180 Poles to a White Oak thence South 27 West 180 Poles to a Pine thence North 13 West 180 Poles to the Beginning, with the appurtanances and all rights and priveleges and improvements to the saishe in any ways belonging to the said land and premises and aforesaid William Dunn for himself his heirs and assigns doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Samuel Reed that the said Samuel Reed may peacably hold and possess said land and premises. Moreover the said William Dunn doth hereby warrant and forever defend the said land and premises forever himself his heirs and assigns & all manner of persons whatsoever wils the said Samuel Reed his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said William Dunn hath set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year above written.
