Next to the Jones Plot, and completely empty of markers, is a plot in which corner-boundary markers are lying about--as if being removed. On the corner stones are the initials "J. S. T." When Mrs. St. Amand listed the Jones Plot (above), her next two entries were the ones given here. It might be assumed, because Tunstall is the middle and/or maiden names of persons buried in the adjacent Jones Plot, that the now-missing stones were in this area. They are listed here as an educated guess. These plots, like the ones that mirror the location on the other side of the drive, are on an eroding slope, probably caused by the wash around the driveway itself. Perhaps the family has moved them to another cemetery. 751. William F. Tunstall, 1912 - 1933 752. Claude, Jr., son of C. D. and Phrocine Tunstall, Mar. 22, 1908 - Aug. 12, 1909 WOOTEN 753. Prior to its removal to the Town Commons, the old Brickell cannon sat on this plot. The now-bare concrete block base to the south of the monument held (in about 1910) an arrangement of cannon balls, and later, the cannon itself. The Inscriptions on the Marker:
East side: The ashes of 14 unknown soldiers dying in and around Greenville now repose here.
West side: Only a martyr who fought and who fell, Unknown and unmarked in the strife! But still as he lies in his lonely cell, Angel and Seraph the legend shall tell--Such a death is eternal life!
