Messer Cemetery at Shady Grove
Messer Cemetery at Shady Grove
Beantown Rd.
Hemphill Section
Haywood County, NC
This cemetery was surveyed on August 9, 2001 by Rebecca Howell.
To reach this cemetery, take Hwy. 276 down Jonathan's Creek toward I-40 and Tennessee.
Take Joe Carver Road on the left and follow it to Beantown Road on the left.
Take Beantown Rd. to the NC Baptist Association's Hispanic Mission.
Turn right into the Mission driveway and continue to stay right to the top of the hill.
This road is very steep and rough.
The Messer Cemetery will be on your left surrounded by a woven wire fence.
The Messer Cemetery was originally part of the Allison Cemetery at Shady Grove, but since it has been fenced separate from the original cemetery, I am recording it as a separate cemetery.
This cemetery is well cared for and still in use.
This cemetery contains 5 graves.
No person is ever truly dead until the last person forgets to remember them.
