Browntown

Browntown was a thriving community located at the crossroads of Old Plank and Salisbury-Deep River Roads in Davidson County. The town was founded in 1791 and incorporated in 1842/3. The last resident, Ester Brown, a midwife, left the town in 1895.

Today, all that remains is the burying ground and part of the hat shop.
