Cane Creek Friends Meeting
Sesquibicentennial Gathering
Past, Present and Future
1751-2001

Cane Creek will be two hundred fifty years old in October 2001.  The meeting has a long and colorful history.  When Cane Creek Meeting was established George Washington was nineteen years old, Benjamin Franklin had already flown his kite and the Declaration of Independence was only a gleam in Thomas Jefferson's eye.  All the events which have affected our nation have affected our Quaker Meeting as well because we were there.

Cane Creek Meeting has published a remembrance book titled, From Whence We Came (see link and order information below).  It is a pictoral history of many families of the meeting and the surrounding Snow Camp community.  It depicts generations of Friends in their daily activities and their simplistic search for spiritual growth throughout the years.

As the oldest active Meeting in Piedmont North Carolina, Cane Creek Friends Meeting will celebrate their two hundred fiftieth birthday the week of October 1 through October 7, 2001.  We invite you to help us celebrate by reflecting on the past, centering on the present and planning for the future.
