Kathleen Mitchell Hendrix, 95, of Holly Court, Lenoir, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Shaire Center.

She was born May 16, 1914, in Caldwell County to the late James and Emma White Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford F. Hendrix; and a son, James F. Hendrix.

Mrs. Hendrix graduated from Hudson High School and attended Davenport College in Lenoir and Bob Jones College. In 1979, she retired from Citizens Savings and Loan after 29 years. She served as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school, was active in the women�s circles and organized �Site-Seekers.�

Mrs. Hendrix is survived by her daughter-in-law, Daryl Brinton Hendrix; grandsons, James Christopher Hendrix and wife Crystal, and Jeffrey Brinton Hendrix and wife Whitnie; great-grandchildren, Aeron, Jacob and Darien Hendrix, all of Columbia, S.C.

Mrs. Hendrix has lived at Shaire Center since 2002. The family wishes to thank the wonderful, compassionate and loving staff at Shaire Center who has cared for her. The family also thanks Caldwell Hospice, Mary Isaac and Catherine Icard for their loving care.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Lenoir conducted by the Rev. Robert Hinman.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Interment will be private.
