Hazel Annie Annas Winkler, 80, of Granite Falls, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at her residence.
She was born July 30, 1929, in Caldwell County to the late Elverson Edgar Annas and Lilly Belle Smith Annas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Scott Winkler; her siblings, �Sonny Boy� Annas, Neil Annas Whisnant, Grady Annas, Charlie Annas, Garnell Annas Weaver, Thad �Goob� Annas, Betty Annas Bowman and Edgar �Bossey� Annas.
Mrs. Winkler was a member of Clover Baptist Church. She also was a volunteer for the Bloodmobile and gave blood often.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Winkler of the home; grandson, Trey Scott Winkler of Lenoir; two sisters, Jewel Annas Bean of Granite Falls and Melba Annas Shook of Lenoir; two sisters-in-law, Ether Annas St. Clair and Ruth Hollar Annas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Clover Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Childers officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Serving as pallbearers will be the deacons of Clover Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care.
