Edgar Andrew Readling Jr., 66, of Hickory, passed away on Feb. 28, 2010, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Born April 19, 1943, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of Grace Linker Readling and the late Edgar A. Readling Sr.

Mr. Readling was a former chairman of the Catawba County Republican Party. He was formerly with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and Unisys Company. His hobby was computers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Priscilla Smith Readling of the home; mother, Grace Linker Readling of Concord; daughters, Kathrine Readling of Concord, and Elizabeth Readling Minton and husband David Minton; grandchildren, Devin and Dalton Minton of Hudson; brother, Brady Readling and wife Sue of Harrisburg; sisters, Irene Russell and husband Tommy of Concord, and Brenda Readling Irvin of Kannapolis; three nephews, two nieces and one great-nephew.

The celebration of life service will be held at Catawba Funerals and Cremations on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 3 p.m. with the Revs. Ron Winkler and Don Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
