Wesley Emery Anthony (1923-1960)

RONALD ALLISON ANTHONY (1923-1960)

     Born Sept 3, 1923 in Wilson's Beach (Campobello Island), Charlotte, NB to Howard Waterson & Elizabeth Lillian Fletcher. He came to Blacks Harbour with his family 1941, and enlisted for service December 7, 1942. Trooper Ronald A Anthony served with the Canadian tank corp. as a member of the 27th C.A.R.. He saw service in France, which included being with the forces on D-Day, Belgium and Holland where he was wounded in action. He returned from Europe aboard the Illde-France which docked in Halifax, NS.

    After a thirty (30) day leave he reported to his unit having volunteered for active service in the Pacific.

    Ronald departed this life November 29, 1960 due to a heart seizure at Elliot Lake, ON. He was laid to rest at Field of Honour Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery in Saint John (West), St. John, NB.
