Twin Engined Machine Cracks Up When About To Land on Station Property After
Routine Flight

HALIFAX, July 12 - (C.P.) Two Canadian airmen were
killed Saturday when their twin-engined aircraft crashed as they were about to
land at the R.C.A.F. station at Pennfield Ridge, N.B. Eastern Air Command
Headquarters here announced today.
The victims were the pilot, PO. M.W. Hanson, whose father, N.W. Hanson lives at
Lethbridge, Alta., and PO. Herbert E. Jasmin, whose wife is at Humberstone, Ont.
The accident occurred on station property as the plane was returning after a routine
flight, stated the announcement. The two airmen were the only occupants.
(Notification of PO. Jasmin's death was received yesterday at Port Colborne, Ont.,
where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jasmin live. He was a former senior hockey
player with Port Colborne Sailors and North Bay Trappers.
