| TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES: | The above two (2) photographs of AE677, provided by George V. Smith 15 August 2010, are from Pennfield Parish Military Historical Society's extensive collection of photographs. "The sight of a burnt-out Ventura in the middle of the runway when we returned from a cross-country." was one of the memories Mr. Smith recalled from his time spent at "the Ridge". In regards to Fred Guest (author of this article), Mr. Smith remarked: "Fred Guest...I have corresponded for quite some years and he and his crew were at Pennfield at the same time as us." |
