Maces Bay, Oct. 3 - The quiet of our neighborhood has been broken by the peal
of wedding bells in celebration of the nuptials of Ella MAWHINNEY
youngest d/o Wilson MAWHINNEY and Capt. Colin McKAY, Pennfield
(Charlotte Co.) The event took place Tuesday eve. Oct. 1st at the home of the
bride. The bride was attended by Miss Sadie McKAY. Capt. McKay was
supported by Wm MAWHINNEY, brother of the bride. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. H. Spike of Musquash. Mrs. McKay has been for some years past,
organist in St. Thomas's church, Dipper Harbor. They have gone to Pennfield
where they will make their home.

A large number of invited guests gathered at the home of John McAdam, Pennfield Station, Wednesday, Oct. 24th, to witness the marriage of his youngest daughter, Sadie, to George Baton of Providence, R.I. The bride,
who is a fair blonde, looked very pretty in a dress of white lawn with battenburg trimmings. Rev. A.D. Fraser, pastor of the Presbyterian church, tied the silken knot. The presents were numerous and gave evidence of the high
esteem in which the bride is held by her many friends in Pennfield and St. George. A number of presents await them in Providence where they will in future reside.

The home of John Boyd, Pennfield Ridge, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Monday, Oct. 29th, when his second daughter, May, was united to George Stone of Orange, Mass. The bride looked sweet and
attractive, and wore a pretty travelling suit. Immediately after the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. A.D. Fraser, the happy couple boarded the train for a trip through New England States, after which they will make their
home in Orange, Mass.

A pretty home wedding took place at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Eldridge, Beaver Harbor, on Wednesday evening, Sept.
27, when Miss Ethel Turner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Turner, St. George,
became the bride of Garnet Eldridge. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Harold
A. Westrup, pastor of the Baptist Church.
The bride, who wore a gown of white satin and lace, was
attended by Mrs. Burrell Waite, sister of the groom, who was attired in gold
crepe. Herbert Eldridge was groomsman.
Following the ceremony a reception was held and was largely
attended. The young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts.

Beaver Harbour, Nov. 7 - On Saturday
evening, November 4, at 8 o'clock. Miss Eudora Agnes Dawson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Edgar Dawson, of Pleasant Ridge, was united in marriage to George Alexander
Best, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Best of Beaver Harbour. Rev. Harold A.
Westrup, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiated at the parsonage in Pennfield.
Attending the couple were Miss Lura Best and Robert Barry.
The bride was prettily attired in a dress of teal blue with
navy accessories. Miss Best worse a dress of wine crepe with matching hat and
gloves.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of
the groom's parents which was largely attended. The young couple received some
very nice gifts. Among those from out of town who attended the reception were
Lindsay Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. R. Whittier, and Mr. Nodding of Pleasant Ridge,
also Mr. and Mrs. David Bennett of Saint John.
The bride and groom are spending this week with her parents
at their home in Pleasant Ridge.

Beaver Harbour, Nov. 7 - A quiet wedding
was solemnized at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. H.A. Westrup,
Pennfield, on Saturday November 4, at 3 p.m., when Miss Phyllis Morse became the
bride of John Hawkins. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Morse of
White Head, Grand Manan, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Almon Hawkins,
of Beaver Harbour. They were attended during the ceremony by Miss Vera Hawkins,
sister of the groom, and Walter Thompson, of Black's Harbour.
The youthful couple have the best wishes of many friends for
many years of happiness.

St. George, Nov. 7 - A quiet wedding took
place in St. Mark's Church on Friday evening, Oct. 27, when the rector, Rev. B.T.
Keith, united in marriage Eileen D. O'Brien, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John C. O'Brien, St. George, and Leonard Wilcox, only son of Mrs. O.E. Wood
Pennfield Ridge.
The bride was dressed in a street-length dress of comet blue
transparent velvet, the skirt slightly flared with bustle effect, black hat,
shoes and gloves. She wore also a silver fox fur.
They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald McKay of Pennfield
Ridge. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox will reside in Pennfield.

North Pennfield, Nov. 13 - A quiet wedding
took place at St. Mark's Church, St. George, on Wednesday evening, Oct. 25, when
Dorothy Dorothy Sellars, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sellars, and Gordon
Winston Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evans Powell, of Moncton, were united in
marriage by the rector, Rev. Bliss T. Keith, in the presence of immediate
relatives and friends.
Miss Vera Sellars, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, while
Gordon Sellars, brother of the bride, supported the groom.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was charmingly
attired in rust crepe with navy accessories.
Congratulations and every good wish go out to this young
couple from a host of friends. They will reside in North Pennfield.

Pennfield, Nov. 23 - A quiet wedding was
solemnized at the Baptist parsonage on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. when Rev.
Harold A. Westrup united in marriage Miss Irene Dowe, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth
Dowe of New Yarmouth, N.S., and Arthur Reid, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Reid of
St. George.
The bride was dressed in a Queen's blue crepe dress with wine
coat and hat, and matching accessories. She was attended by Miss Eunice Justason
of Pennfield. The groomsman was Kenneth Frazer of the 105th Battalion of St.
George.
The bride has been living with Mr. and Mrs. Barney B.
Justason for several months and has made many friends here who wish the couple
every happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Reid will reside in St. George.

ELDRIDGE-RALSTON
Beaver Harbour, Dec. 2 - A wedding of
interest to many friends took place on Nov. 24th at 11:30 a.m., when Miss Myrtle
Louise Eldridge became the bride of Grover Ralston. She is the second daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Eldridge and his parents are Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Ralston,
who reside in Woodstock.
Rev. Harold A. Westrup, pastor of the Baptist Church
officiated at the parsonage in Pennfield where the ceremony was performed.
The bride was attractively attired in a street length dress
of royal blue taffeta with velvet turban to match. Her attendant was Mrs. Orland
Wadlin who was wearing a navy ensemble, and the groomsman was Orland Wadlin.
In the evening a reception was held at the house of the
bride's parents which was largely attended. Those who served refreshments were
Mrs. Leverett Bates, sister of the bride, Misses Lulu Wright, Clarice Wadlin and
Barbara Eldridge.
The young couple received a lovely array of gifts. For the
present day they are residing in Beaver Harbour.

After the ceremony the couple left by motor for points in New
Brunswick and Nova Scotia. On their return they will reside in St. George.

A quite wedding was solemnized on Monday
evening Jan. 29th, in the Episcopal Church at St. George when Rev. Mr. Keith
united in marriage Miss Eunice T. Justason. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney B.
Justason and Kenneth A. Fraser, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fraser of St. George.
Miss Annie Fraser and Whitman Simmons were their attendants.
On Friday evening relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Fraser gathered at the home of the bride's parents where a charivari was held.
Refreshments were served by Mrs. Justason, assisted by Mrs. Everett Fraser, the
bride's sisters, Mrs. John O'Neill and Miss Charlotte Justason and four cousins,
Misses Althea, Vera and Lois Justason and Thelma Maxwell.
The happy couple received some very nice gifts. Mr. Fraser
had been until recently on guard duty at the Armory in St. George and belonged
to the 105th Battalion and is now in Fredericton Depot District.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser, accompanied by Everett Fraser, motored
to Fredericton on Saturday when Mr. Fraser rejoined his regiment. Mrs. Fraser is
staying with her parents.

CALDWELL-BARCHARD
A pretty wedding took place at 4
o'clock last Saturday afternoon when Rev. Harold A. Westrup united in
marriage Miss Beulah Alberta Barchard, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
H. Barchard, Saint John, and Donald McLean Caldwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George
L. Caldwell, Bristol. The ceremony was performed in Utopia Lodge, Lake Utopia,
where Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Caldwell are spending the winter. Assisting Mr. Westrup
was Rev. Judson Levy, Sussex, brother-in-law of the bride.
The bride was charming in a street length gown of teal blue
crepe, the bodice, sleeves and hipline being accentuated with fine tucking and
having a draped neckline caught with a flower brooch. She wore a flowered toque
and her other accessories were of navy blue. The couple were unattended.
The groom's gift to the bride was a gold compact. A profusion
of spring flowers made a beautiful setting for the ceremony.
After the ceremony a buffet luncheon was served when Mrs.
Allan M.A. McLean presided at the tea table. Assisting in serving were Miss
Doris Barchard, Miss Katherine Duggan and Miss Ruth Welch.
The bride and groom left later on a trip to Montreal. They
will reside in Black's Harbor where the groom is employed as superintendent of
the specialty plant of Connors Bros., Limited.
The bride is a graduate of the Saint John General Hospital
and also took post graduate work at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal.

Beaver Harbour, June 10 - A pretty wedding
took place at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. H.A. Westrup,
Pennfield, N.B., June 7th, at 2 p.m., when Anna Elizabeth, second eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. O'Brien, Beaver Harbor, was united in marriage to
Donald Rupert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Hawkins of Pennfield Ridge.
The bride wore a street length dress of powder blue crepe
with white lace panel extending from the Peter Pan collar to the hem-line, and
fastened with small white buttons. Her hat, gloves and shoes were of white and
she carried an arm bouquet of gladioli, yellow roses and lilies-of-the-valley.
The couple were attended by the bride's sister, Miss Audrey O'Brien, who was
wearing an afternoon dress of dove grey with rose accessories and by Kenneth
Hawkins, brother of the groom.
Shortly after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins left by motor
for Bar Harbour, Me. For traveling the bride wore a navy linen dress, navy coat
and hat with turquoise blue accessories.
The couple have a host of friends who will join in extending
best wishes.
On their return the couple will reside at Pennfield Ridge,
N.B.

Beaver Harbour, June 24 - The marriage of
Miss Jessie Helen Orr, daughter of Mrs. Jessie F. Orr, 151 Metcalf Street, Saint
John, and the late John Orr, to Basil Paul Wadlin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Wadlin of Beaver Harbor, was quietly solemnized at the home of the officiating
clergyman, Rev. W.U. Hatfield, pastor of Ludlow Street Baptist Church. Relatives
and friends witnessed the ceremony.
The bride wore a street-length dress of heaven blue sheer
over matching satin. The bodice of the full skirt was smocked, and it had a
Peter Pan collar and short puffed sleeves. Her hat was of white straw with a
face veil and she wore white shoes and long white lace mitts, and carried a
bouquet of briar cliff roses and pink carnations. The bride was attended by her
sister, Mrs. Frank Vanwart, as matron of honor, who was wearing a dress of
figured sheer. Her corsage was Ophelia roses and she wore a white felt hat and
other white accessories. Orland Wadlin was his brother's groomsman.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of
the bride's mother. The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding
cake surmounted by a miniature bride and groom. A silver basket of pink
carnations and vases of multi-colored flowers completed the table adornment.
Mrs. Vincent Logue and Mrs. Russell Codner, sisters of the bride, assisted in
serving.
The groom is a member of the R.C.N.R. The popularity of both bride and groom was
evidenced by the array of silver, crystal and linen received.
Mr. and Mrs. Wadlin will reside in Saint John for the
present.
Those from out-of-town attending the wedding were the groom's
parents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wadlin, and Mrs. and Mrs. Orland Wadlin of Beaver
Harbor.

The Episcopal Church at Pennfield
was the scene on Saturday afternoon, July 6, of the marriage of Miss Abbie Grace
Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Lee of Elmcroft, to Andrew Lyall Healey,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Healey, of Hampton. The bride entered the church on
the arm of her father to the straits of Lohengrin played by Mrs. Frank Trynor of
St. George. The bride was attired in powder blue princess style dress of street
length, and wore a corsage of red roses and lily of the valley. Mrs. Chester
Craig was her sister's matron of honor. She wore a frock of gray crepe with
dubonet accessories and wore red roses. The groom was attended by Chester Craig.
Rev. F.B. Keith of St. Marks Church, St. George, officiated. During the signing
of the register a violin solo "O Promise Me" was beautifully rendered
by Meyer Krutt of Boston, Mass. After the ceremony the wedding party attended a
reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Gilmore of Bonney River.
The happy couple left on a short trip through the Maritimes.
On their return they will reside at their recently completed home in Hampton.
The out of town guests were Miss Grace Campbell, Edward Paisley, Mr. and Mrs.
Spencer Snodgrass, all of Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeSoto, and Frances Lee,

through New Brunswick. The bride attended the Provincial Normal School,
Fredericton, and prior to marriage was engaged in teaching in Charlotte County
rural schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Chambers, L'Etete.
The bride was attired in a street-length dress of Elizabeth
blue crepe with white accessories. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Marion
Wells, who wore a street length dress of dusky pink with matching hat and white
accessories. The groom was supported by Ross Murray, brother of the bride.
Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the
home of the bride's mother. The bride's table was centred with a tiered wedding
cake, surmounted by a miniature bride and groom. Friends of the bride assisted
in serving.
The popularity of the couple was evidenced by the number of
beautiful gifts received. Later the young couple left by motor for a short trip
through New Brunswick.

but pretty wedding was solemnized at the Baptist parsonage, St. George, on
Saturday evening last when Rev. Frank Smith united in marriage Miss Lois Irene
Hatt, daughter of Artemus Hatt, L'Etang, and the late Margaret Hatt, and Donald
Eugene Moses, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moses, Sr., of this place. The bride
looked charming in a street length dress of airforce blue crepe with wine
accessories. She carried an arm bouquet of gladioli and sweetpeas. Mrs. Daniel
Robinson, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a street length gown of
monet blue crepe with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of mixed
flowers. Daniel Robinson supported the groom.
Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Moses motored
to Black's Harbour where a reception was held at the home of the groom's
parents. The house was prettily decorated for the occasion with summer flowers.
The bride's table, trimmed in pink and white, was centred with a three-tiered
wedding cake surmounted by a miniature bridge and groom. Mrs. Charles Bowen,
Mrs. Burns Leavitt, Mrs. Alden Justason, Mrs. Stanley Clifford, Miss Madeline
Bates, Mrs. Arthur Phillips and Mrs. Harry Moses, Jr. assisted in serving. The
bride received many pretty and useful gifts, including linen, cut glass and
silver.

Cross, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Cross and Miss Jennie Leavitt, daughter

morning, October 5th, at the Baptist Parsonage. Rev. H.A. Westrup officiated.
The bride and groom were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cross. Following the
ceremony they left for Grand Manan on a short trip. They will return here
Thursday and a reception will be held at the home of the groom's parents on
Thursday evening, October 10th.

Beaver Harbour, Oct. 15 - A wedding of interest took place
at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. H.A. Westrup, on Saturday
morning, October 5th, when Jessie Mae Leavitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Leavitt, St. George, became the bride of Winston Gilmore Cross, younger son of
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Cross, of Beaver Harbor. There were attended by Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Cross, brother and sister-in-law of the groom. The bride was prettily
attired in an afternoon gown of soldier blue, with navy blue accessories. Mrs.
Cross was wearing a dress of fuchsia crepe and navy hat.
Immediately following the ceremony the bride and groom left
for Grand Manan, via St. Andrews and S.S. Grand Manan. They returned here on
Thursday the 10th and a reception was held in the evening at the home of groom.
A large number were present to extend best wishes to the young couple. A large
array of beautiful wedding gifts testified to their popularity in the community
and elsewhere.
Music was enjoyed throughout the evening. Guests were
received by the groom's mother and those who assisted with the serving were Mrs.

Island, Oct. 14 - A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon McNeill of Chocolate Cove, where the mother of the bride resides,
when Miss Myrna Irene Eldridge, daughter of Mrs. Flora Eldridge and the late
Melvin Eldridge of Beaver Harbour, and Franklin Glazier Hinckley, son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Hinckley were united in marriage by Rev. R.A. Colpitts, pastor of the
Baptist churches of Deer Island. The bride and groom were unattended. The
drawing room at the McNeill home was attractively decorated with cut flowers and
autumn leaves. The single ring service was used.
The bride was charming in a gown of soldier blue Alexandria
crepe, with accessories to match. She carried a bouquet of sweetpeas tied with
streamers reaching to the hem-line of her dress. Her only ornament was a string
of solid gold beads, the gift of her mother-in-law, which had been worn by her
on her wedding day.
Mrs. Eldridge, mother of the bride, was gowned in blue crepe
and worse a corsage of roses.
Mrs. Hinckley, mother of the groom wore a dress of grape wine
crepe and her corsage was of gardenias.
Mrs. Gordon McNeill, aunt of the bride, was dressed in light
blue crepe with embodied pockets. Her corsage was of pink roses.
Mrs. Robert Barry of Beaver Harbour, aunt of the bride, wore
a gown of dark blue lace with a corsage of red roses.
Delicious refreshments were provided after the wedding by the
bride's aunts, and were served by the Misses Hazel Haney and Elizabeth Ward,
after which the bride donned a traveling costume of carbon blue Boucle with
beaver trimmings and hat, shoes and bag of brown.
Previous to her marriage the bride was tendered many social
functions by the younger set in her home town where she is very popular. She
received many beautiful wedding gifts from relatives and friends in Massachusetts
and New Brunswick.
Following their marriage, the happy couple left in their
motor car for an extended trip to Quebec and other points of interest in Canada.
The groom is a promising young attorney in Boston, Mass. After their honeymoon
tour they will reside at 120 George Street, Medford, Mass.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding included the groom's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hinckley of Medford, Mass., Mrs. Everett Cushman of
Yarmouth, Me., cousin of the bride, Mrs. Robert Barry of Beaver Harbour, and

on Saturday afternoon, May 17th, when Miss Betty Rhoda Wadlin, only daughter of
Mrs. Charles Wadlin and the late Mr. Wadlin, of Beaver Harbor, became the bride
of Roy Taylor Polk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Polk, of Pennfield Ridge. The
ceremony was performed at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Harold Westrup, Pennfield.
Mr. Westrup officiating. The attendants were Miss Laura Wright and Clifton
Wadlin, brother of the bride.
The youthful bride was attractively gowned in a dress of
heaven blue sheer crepe with hat to match. Following the ceremony the happy
couple left on a motor trip. They are residing at Pennfield Ridge, and have the
best wishes of their many friends for many years of happiness.

Harbour, June 17 - A wedding of interest to many friends in various parts of the
Province was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents at Frye's Island on
Saturday afternoon last when Miss Rowena Marguerite Walton, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Walton, and Walter Wellington Chamberlain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew
Chamberlain, Fairvale, were united in marriage. Rev. Frank Coleman, rector of
the Anglican church at Minto, and cousin of the groom officiated.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a
street length gown of light blue alpaca with navy blue accessories and carried a
bouquet of Donahue roses. She was attended by Miss Mildred Shrieves of Sussex,
who wore a costume of beige crepe with harmonizing accessories and a corsage of lilies-of-the-valley.
Irvine Matthews was groomsman.
About forty-five guests were present at the reception held
immediately after the ceremony. Those assisting in serving were Mrs. Norman
Gillmor and Miss Frances Gillmor, Bonney River; Mrs. Russell Hooper and Miss
Edna Hooper, Back Bay; Mrs. Frank Spinney and Miss Eleanor Spinney, Bliss'
Island.
Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlain will reside in Pennfield for the

scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday last when Rev. J. Hugh McLean, B.A.,
minister of the Kirk at West, Saint John, assisted by Rev. C.W. Crowe of
Lorneville, united in marriage Miss Mildred Fern Murray, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Andrew Murray, Black's Harbour, and Edmund Arthur Kernighan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Kernighan, of St. George. An arch of evergreen ferns and roses
formed a setting for the ceremony. Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" was
played by Mr. Donald McGuire.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a
gown of gloria blue with matching hat and white accessories and carried a
bouquet of pink carnations and ferns. She was attended by her sister, Miss
Phyllis Irene Murray, who wore teal blue with white accessories. Miss Marla
Murray, small sister of the bride, carried a basket of roses and ferns. Richard
Morris, Black's Harbour, was groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. W.J. Murray. Mrs. Murray presided over the tea cups and Mrs. Marion
Odell cut the three-tiered wedding cake. Those who served were Mrs. Donald
McGuire, Miss Frances Murray, Miss Mary Murray, Mrs. Clifford Gaudett, Mrs. S.
McAfee. Several relatives and friends of the bride and groom were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Kernighan received many beautiful presents,
including silver and cut glass. They will reside in Black's Harbour.

George, N.B., August 19 - A wedding of interest to many friends in Charlotte
County took place in St. George's Church, Tuesday morning, August 19th, at nine
o'clock, when Rev. H.L. Coughlan, with nuptial mass, united in marriage Miss
Lillian Marie, only daughter of Mrs. Josephine McGrattan and the late Charles
McGrattan, and Joseph C. Hill, son of Mrs. Hill and the late John Hill, of
Black's Harbour.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Edmund, and
wore a street length frock of powder blue crepe, made on princess lines, with
navy blue velvet turban and blue suede shoes and carried a bouquet of red roses.
The bridesmaid, Miss Jeanne McGrattan, cousin of the bride,
wore a street length dress of grey crepe, made on princess lines, with a black
velvet off-the-face hat and black suede shoes, and carried a bouquet of red
roses.
Kenneth McGrattan was groomsman.
Little Jean Marie McGrattan, the bride's niece, was the
flower girl and wore a pink accordian pleated taffeta dress, pink bonnet, and
carried a basket of sweetpeas. Fred and Michael McGrattan, cousins of the bride,
sang hymns during the mass.
Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the
home of the bride's mother. The bride's table set for eight, was covered with a
lace cloth, when the three-tier wedding cake, decorated with a miniature bride
and groom and pink candles in crystal holders, occupied the center of the table.
The bride is a graduate of St. George Superior School and
Woods Commercial School, New York.
The groom a graduate of St. Joseph's University, Memramcook,
is now employed on the office staff at No.2 Air Navigation School, Pennfield.
Out of town guests attending the wedding were Mrs. John Hill
and daughters, and Alton Doon of Black's Harbour, Miss Patricia MacIntyre and
Gerald Curran of Saint John, and Mrs. Howard Briggs of Portland, Maine.

wedding on Friday evening, August 22nd, when Colonel Shirring, padre of the
Fifth Armored Division at Camp Borden, united in marriage Bessie Gertrude,
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, St. Stephen, N.B., and Trooper
Milton Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Barry, Beaver Harbour, N.B.
The bride was attired in navy blue crepe with hat and shoes
to match and wore a corsage of pink orchids. She was attended by Miss Violet
Jeremy of Barrie, Ont., attired also in navy blue. Trooper Ralph Carson of
Havelock, N.B., was best man.
The bridesmaid, Miss Jeanne McGrattan, cousin of the bride,
wore a street length dress of grey crepe, made on princess lines, with a black
velvet off-the-face hat and black suede shoes, and carried a bouquet of red
roses.
About fifteen guests were present who after the ceremony went
to the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Coulson in Allandale, where refreshments were
served by Mrs. Coulson and Mrs. William Preston.
The bride and groom left on a short wedding trip to Toronto
and Oshawa, taking in the Canadian National Exhibition.
The groom is a member of the 8th P.L. N.B. Hussars, and at
present is stationed at Camp Borden, Ont.

Pennfield news: A pretty wedding took place at the Baptist parsonage here at 7:30
when the Rev. Harold A. Westrup united in marriage Myrtle Marie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Gilbert Justason and Jack Shaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hamford L. Shaw,
Lakeville, Car. Co. The bride was becomingly gowned in a dress of royal blue
crepe with a grey coat with matching hat and accessories. They were attended by
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grant. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's
home, where a number of friends enjoyed an evening of games and music.
Refreshments were served and those who assisted in serving were Mrs. Frank
Grant, Mrs. George Baker and Mrs. W.S. Dines. The bride received many lovely
gifts. They will reside at Pennfield.

Black's Harbour, Sept. 13 - A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Earle Ingersoll when their daughter, Frances Gertrude, was united in marriage to
Hiram Foster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Foster of Grand Harbor, N.B. Rev. H.M.
DeWolfe of the Grand Harbor United Baptist Church officiated.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Myrtle Ingersoll,
and the groom was attended by his brother, Terrance Foster. The bride was
becomingly attired in a navy blue dress with accessories to match. After the
ceremony the happy couple left for Nova Scotia where they are spending their
honeymoon. They will reside in Grand Harbor, Grand Manan. Every good wish for
their happiness is extended by their friends.

Beaver Harbor, Oct. 13 - On Thursday evening, October 9th, at the home of the officiating
clergyman, Rev. Harold A. Westrup, Miss Clara Jean Hawkins, youngest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Almon Hawkins, Beaver Harbor, became the bride of John Turner, son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Turner of Mascarene. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Irish. The bride was becomingly attired in a costume of navy blue and
Mrs. Irish was also dressed in navy blue.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of
the bride's parents when a large number attended to extend congratulations and
best wishes to the young couple. For the present they will reside in Beaver
Harbor.

TUCKER-LORD
Black's Harbor, Oct. 27 - The marriage of Miss Arla Lambert Lord, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Claude Lord, Black's Harbour and Samuel Alexander Tucker, son of Mrs.
Tucker and the late Thomas Tucker of Le Tete, was solemnized at the Calvary
United Baptist Frances M. McLean Memorial Church at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon,
Oct. 22, Rev. H.A. Westrup officiated.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was
charming in a street-length jacket frock of dusty rose "bunny" wool
trimmed with appliqués of black velvet. Her hat, a wide brimmed model with
shallow, pointed crown, was of black velvet, with grosgrain trim and her other
accessories were black. She carried an arm bouquet of Johanna Hill roses and
maidenhair fern.
Miss Helena Lord attended her sister. She wore a long torso
model of wool sheer in a light blue shade with gold buckles at neck and hipline.
Her hat was a veiled bonnett of navy blue felt and her other accessories were
navy blue. The bouquet she carried was of Johanna Hill roses, white carnations
and baby mums.
The groom was supported by his brother, Murray Tucker. As the
bridal party entered the church, Mrs. H.A. Westrup, who presided at the organ,
played the Bridal Chorus from "Lohengrin" and the recessional was
Mendelssohn's "Wedding March." During the signing of the register Mrs.
William Cross of Beaver Harbour sang "O Promise Me."
Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Tucker left by
car from Montreal. For traveling the bride wore a coat of Delph blue wool boucle
with grey squirrel trim. On their return they will take up residence here.

MEATING-O'BRIEN
Beaver Harbor, Nov. 3 - On October 29th at 2 p.m., Christ Church (Espicopal) Pennfield,
N.B., was the scene of a quiet wedding when Wilda Kathleen, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edmund R. O'Brien of Beaver Harbour, and Hugh Ludgate, son of Mrs.
Ena Meating and the late Mr. Meating of St. George, were united in marriage.
Rev. Bliss Keith, rector of the church, officiated at the ceremony in the
presence of immediate relatives and a few friends. The bride looked very smart
in a tailored suit, black with pencil stripe, white blouse and black hat with
birdcage veil. Her other accessories were black and she carried a white prayer
book and wore a corsage of sweetheart roses.
Miss Audrey O'Brien was her sister's attendant and she wore a
dress of heavenly blue wool crepe with brown accessories and her corsage was of
yellow chrysanthemums.
The groomsman was Fred Goodill of St. George.
Mrs. O'Brien, the bride's mother, was gowned in grey wool
with wine hat and wore a shoulder bouquet of mauve mums. Mrs. Meating, mother of
the groom, wore a black costume with shoulder bouquet of white baby mums.
Immediately following the ceremony a buffet luncheon was
served at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's table was centred
with a beautiful three tiered wedding cake, topped with orange blossoms, and at
each end of the table were bouquets of rose and white mums in tall vases. The
living room was also decorated with fall flowers.
At the luncheon, Mrs. Henry Faloon and Mrs. Charles Conley
poured and Mrs. Donald Hawkins, Mrs. James Donley, Mrs. Thomas McDowell and Miss
Helena Faloon served.
Out of town guests included: Mrs. Wm. Hall, Fredericton; Mrs.
Robert Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton In- Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton In-
Madeline, and son Ronald, and Miss Mildred Cameron, of Black's Harbour; Mrs.
Edna Meating, Mrs. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Doyle, Marshall Stewart, Fred
Goodill, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Faloon, Miss Helena Faloon and Mr. and Mrs. James
Donley, St. George, and Mrs. Thomas McDowell, Pennfield.
Following luncheon the bride and groom left of a honeymoon to
be spent at Lake Utopia.
The bride is a graduate of St. George High School and the
Saint John General Hospital, class of 1936, and since then has practiced her
nursing profession in Fredericton and various places in Charlotte Co.
The beautiful wedding gifts received testify to the
popularity of Mr. and Mrs. Meating and the good wishes of many friends follow
them to St. George, where they will reside.

JACKSON-WRIGHT
A wedding of interest to many friends was solemnized Saturday evening, Nov.
29th, at 7 o'clock at the Presbyterian Parsonage when Rev. Robert MacLean united
in marriage Madelyn Virginia, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wright,
Beaver Harbor, and Albert Foster, son of Mrs. and the late Christie Jackson, of
St. Stephen.
The bride was becomingly attired in a tailored suit of navy
blue with matching accessories and wore a shoulder bouquet of American beauty
roses.
She was attended by Mrs. Windsor Hanson, sister of the groom,
who was gowned in a dress of fuchsia crepe with matching accessories.
The groomsman was Windsor Hanson of Milltown.
Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Jackson motored
to the home of the bride's parents at Beaver Harbor, where a wedding supper was
served. Later they left on a wedding trip though different parts of the
province. On their return they will reside in St. Stephen.

WRIGHT-HUDSON
Beaver Harbour, January 10 - The Baptist parsonage at Sydney, N.S., was the
scene of a wedding of interest on December 19th, 1941, when Miss Mildred Lottie
Hudson was united in marriage to Pte. Robert Alden Wright. The bride is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hudson of Sydney and the groom is the elder son
of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wright, Beaver Harbor, N.B. Rev. Neil MacLean officiated
at the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a street length dress of royal blue
with corresponding accessories and her corsage was of roses. Miss Alta
Cossittsage was her attendant and she was wore a dress of royal blue. The
groomsman was Jack Saunders.
Following the ceremony a wedding supper was held at the home
of the bride's parents. They will reside in Sydney for the present where Pte.
Wright is stationed with the New Brunswick Rangers.
The young couple have the best wishes of friends in Beaver
Harbor for many years of happiness.

Black's Harbour, N.B., June 23 - A wedding of interest to friends in Black's
Harbour and St. George was solemnized at the Reformed Baptist Parsonage in
Moncton on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. when the Rev. B.C. Cochrane united in marriage
Mildred Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cameron of Black's Harbour and
Frederick Ashton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Goodeill of St. George.
The bride wore a street length dress of ashes of roses sheer
made on graceful lines with white accessories, They were attended by Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Justason of Black's Harbour as witnesses.
After a short trip the young couple will reside in Amherst,
N.S., where the groom in employed in war work.
Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. James Cameron, Stillman
Cameron, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Justason, and Miss Shirley Justason, all of Black's
Harbour.

CHISHOLM-ALLEN
Toronto, June 22 - Trinity College chapel was the scene of a lovely wedding
Friday afternoon when Elizabeth Allardyce, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Wesley
Allen of Black's Harbour, N.B., formerly of Toronto, became the bride of Lieut.
Edward Owen Chisholm, R.C.E., son of Mrs. Chisholm and the late Arthur D.
Chisholm of Oakville. Rev. Canon Smith of St. Jude's Church, Oakville,
officiated and Dr. Holt was at the organ throughout the service. Settings of
peonies and gladioli in clusters of bridal whiteness decorated the chancel.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was a lovely
figure in her gown of exquisite French lace into which was woven a pattern of
white satin flowers and poinsettias embroidered in silver thread. It was
fashioned with a tightly moulded basque bodice made with long, sheath-like
sleeves and a sweetheart neckline edged with a deep, soft frill of lace. The
full skirt over a rich satin underskirt swept into a circular train to the
length of which fell her veil of tulle illusion caught to her head with a coronet
of honniton lace. The prayer-book she carried was used by her aunt, a V.A.D.
during the last war, when she was married.
The bride's only attendant, Mrs. Peter Allen, wore a frock of
petal pink crepe fashioned like the bride's, with tightly moulded basque bodice
from which fell the soft gathered fullness of the skirt. She wore a large
matching pink picture hat and carried a bouquet of heavenly blue delphiniums,
amethyst cornflowers and pink larkspur. Staff Sergeant Laurie Chisholm, United
States navy, brother of the groom, was the best man and the ushers were Peter
Allen, brother of the bride, Adrian Dingle, Lieut. William D. Ramore of
Vancouver and Fl./Lt. James Ross Allen, also a brother of the bride.
The reception following the ceremony was held at Annesley
Hall where the bride cut her cake with the sword which belonged to Col. George
King Chisholm, grandfather of the groom. Mrs. Allen, mother of the bride,
received her guests wearing a graceful gown of moonstone blue crepe, the softly
draped bodice fashioned with fine tucking. A large baku picture hat, the wide
brim edged with lace, in the same soft shade with a corsage of orchids,
completed her costume. Mrs. Chisholm, mother of the groom, assisting with the
receiving, had chosen for the occasion a gown of cloud gray lace with which was
worn a toque fashioned of violets. Later the bride changed into her going-away
costume, a suit dress of candleight blue crepe, the jacket accented with gay
peasant embroidery. A pleated halo hat, fashioned of matching crepe with
snakeskin accessories and a corsage of rubrum lilies completed her costume.
Upon their return from a trip north the bride and groom will
make their home in Petawawa. Tee bride is a graduate of Havergal college and the
groom of the University of Toronto.

Black's Harbour, Jan.
18 - A quiet wedding was solemnized in the Reformed Baptist Church at Black's
Harbour on Thursday afternoon when the Rev. H.S. Mullen, pastor of the church,
united in marriage Helen Augusta, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Justason
of Black's Harbour and Russell Calvin, son of Captain and Mrs. Wilfred Tucker of
L'Etete.
The bride wore a street-length dress of dawn blue velvet with
hat to match and black accessories. She was attended by Miss Martha Tucker
cousin of the groom, who wore a street-length dress of cinnamon brown with black
accessories. Ralph Holland of L'Etete was groomsman.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents where
the table was covered with a linen cloth and centred with the wedding cake. The
young couple received many beautiful and useful gifts conveying the best wishes
of all their friends.
The out-of-town guest were: Capt. and Mrs. Tucker, Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Tucker, Mrs. Joseph Lasley and daughter, Maxine, Mr. and Mrs. Foster
Matthews, and Miss Helen McMacken, all of L'Etete.

A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Harmon, March 30th at 7 o'clock when the Rev. D.S. McLeod united in marriage
their eldest daughter, Nellie Priscilla to Chandler Bothwick of Pennfield. The
bride was attired in a street length dress of blue silk crepe, and carried a
bouquet of pink roses. She was attended by Miss Gladys Orr of Waweig. L.A.C. H.S
Harmon, brother of the bride supported the groom.
After the ceremony a reception was held. The house was
tastefully decorated, the color scheme being pink and white. During the evening
a buffet lunch was served to about two hundred guests and dancing was enjoyed,
the music being furnished by the Black's Harbour orchestra and Owen Acheson of
Elmsville. The young couple were the recipients of many lovely gifts including
glass, linen, pyrex, and a sum of money. They are residing in Pennfield.

Black's Harbour, June 7 - A wedding of interest to many friends in the Maritimes
was solemnized at the Baptist parsonage in Amherst, N.S., on Sunday afternoon,
May 30th, at 4:00 o'clock when the Rev. Mr. Olson united in marriage Marjorie
Althea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cameron of Black's Harbour, and Writer
Harry Perry Stewart of the R.C.N., son of Arthur W. Stewart and the late Mrs.
Stewart of St. George.
The bride wore a two-piece dress of heaven blue crepe made on
tailored lines and matching hat and accessories. Fred Goodeill acted as
groomsman.
The groom attended Mount Allison Academy and Commercial
Collage and was a member of the staff of the Bank of Nova Scotia at St. George.
He is now stationed at naval headquarters in Halifax. The bride took a business
course at The Sacred Heart Academy in Montreal and was employed at Brownsburg,
Que. After a two weeks honeymoon the young couple will reside in Halifax.
Out-of-two guests were Miss Leah Cameron, sister of the
bride, and Mrs. Sutton Ingalls of Black's Harbour.

hat and accessories. She was attended by her sisiter-in-law, Mrs. James
McFarlane, who wore a green street length dress with black hat and accessories.

A reception was held at the home of the groom's sister, Mrs.
Harvey Cawley, of Pennfield, N.B. After a short honeymoon, the young couple will
reside in L'Etete.

bride and groom was solemnized at the Stella Maris Church in Black's Harbour on
June 28th at 8:00 a.m. when the Rev. Ronald N. MacGillivray united in marriage
Frances Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kenney of Seeley's Cove,
Charlotte County, and Harold John, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McVicar of St.
George.
The witnesses were Arthur H. McVicar, brother of the groom,

Black's Harbour, July 18 - A pretty wedding was solemnized in the Stella Maris
Church at Black's Harbour at 7:00 a.m. on June 26th, when the Rev. Ronald B.
MacGillivray united in marriage Marie Octavie Rita, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard of Cocagne, and John A., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Thompson, of
Black's Harbour.
The bride wore Queen's blue two piece dress made on tailored
lines with all-round pleated skirt, matching hat and accessories. The witnesses
were Charles Thompson, brother of the groom, and Miss Emily Chaisson, both of
Black's Harbour.
For travelling the bride wore a navy suit with navy accessories.
After a short wedding trip they returned to Black's Harbour to reside.

ELDRIDGE-SCHELL
A wedding of much
interest was solemnized in Saint George's Church, Saint John, N.B. on December
5, when Rev. W.P. Haigh united in marriage June Anne Schell, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Schell of Saint John and Petty Officer Eugene Maxwell Eldridge,
R.C.N.V.R., son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Eldridge of Beaver Harbour.
The bride was met at the church door by the vested choir who
preceded her to the altar signing. Given in marriage by her father, the bride
looked charming in a floor length gown of white brocaded satin, with sweetheart
neckline caught with small clusters of orange blossoms on the shoulders. The
sleeves were long tapering in points over the hands. Her veil was floor length
silk net, appliqued with satin flowers on each corner. Her only ornament was a
string of pearls. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty Roses, tied with a
wide satin white ribbon.
Her bridesmaid, Miss Inez Long, looked charming in a floor length
gown of pale pink net over taffeta, made with tight bodice and full skirt. Her
hat was a small heartshape model of pink velvet blossoms which was held in place
by a wide pink velvet ribbon topped by a small navy veil. She carried a bouquet
of Better Time Roses tied with a wide pink satin bow.
Chief Petty Officer Ernest Miller of Winnipeg was groomsman.
W. Roscoe and F. Moxey, R.C.N., also of Winnipeg were ushers.
The guest soloist was Mrs. Fred Orr who sang "O Perfect
Love," during the signing of the register.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of
the bride's parents.
The bride's cake was the centre of attraction, a four tier
cake surmounted with a miniature bride and groom under a small arch of orange
blooms and bells.
The toast to the bride was proposed by Rev. W.P. Haigh to
which the groom happily responded.
The happy couple left on a wedding trip to Montreal. For
travelling the bride wore a dress of moss green wool trimmed with white angora.
The bride and groom were the recipients of many lovely gifts.
Many relatives of the groom of Beaver Harbour, Deadman
Harbour and St. George were in attendance.

HATT-JUSTASON
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Baptist parsonage, Pennfield at 7:30
on Saturday, Jan. 15, by the Rev. Wm. Randall when Eudora Ellison, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler <Justason>, became the bride of Harley Hatt, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Hatt, of Utopia. The bride was becomingly dressed in a
two-piece ensemble of brown crepe with gold trimmings, brown shoes and brown and
green fur hat. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hatt.
Mrs. Hatt was dressed in turquoise blue with black
accessories.
A reception was held at the bride's home immediately after
the ceremony where refreshments were served by Mrs. Carleton Justason, Mrs.
Aubrey Hatt, Mrs. Maynard Campbell and Mrs. Chandler <Justason>. The bride
received many useful gifts including money. After a short honeymoon the young
couple will at Pennfield.

Saint John, Jan.23 - On January 17, at the home of the bride's mother, 89 Victoria Street, Grace Margaret, daughter of Mrs. S.C. Webb and the late Mr. Webb became the bride of Lloyd Emerson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Mealey, New River, N.B. Rev. John Slimon, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church officiated. The bride was attended by Miss Aurele Wilson and Ronald A. Grant was groomsman.
Given in marriage by her brother, D. Roland Webb, the bride was becomingly gowned in a slipper length dress of white satin, made on princess lines. Her finger tip veil was arranged from a halo effect of white
satin, embroidered with crystals and seed pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses and wore a string of pearls, a gift of the groom.
The bridesmaid wore a slipper length gown of rose taffeta made on princess lines. Her halo was of pale blue flowers with matching shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of Johanna Hill roses.
Miss Hazel Flewelling presided at the piano and during the signing of the register, Miss Marjorie Turner was guest soloist.
The bride's mother was attired in a two-piece dress of grey crepe. The groom's mother wore a dress of air force blue.
Following the ceremony a reception was held. The bride's table was centered with a two-tiered wedding cake surmounted with a miniature bride and groom and had also for decoration, tall ivory tapers in silver
candle-sticks. Mrs. Reginald Turner, cousin of the bride and Mrs. Ronald Spear, sister of the groom poured. Girl friends of the bride served.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Mealey left on a trip through the Maritimes. For traveling the bride donned a two-piece dress of raspberry wool with a top coat of muskrat and brown accessories. The corsage was Johanna Hill
roses. On their return they will reside at New River.

The bride was charming in an air-force blue tailored suit of wool crepe with matching hat and veil and navy accessories. She was attended by her sister, Miss Barbara Justason, who wore a heaven blue dress in
peg-top style with white lace front, halo hat to match with veil, and navy accessories. O/S Roy Best of Beaver Harbour was groomsman.
After the ceremony the young couple left for Lubec, Maine.

Beaver Harbor, March 6 - A quiet wedding took place at St. George , when Rev. McDormand, pastor of United Baptist Church, united in marriage Martha Joyce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan
Paul, Beaver Harbor, and Frederick, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Matheson,Back Bay, N.B.
The bride wore a gown of royal blue crepe. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Matheson acted as witnesses.
Later a reception was held at the home of the bride, where luncheon was served. Those who assisted in serving were Mrs. Grovenor Wright, Mrs. Norman Paul, Mrs. J. McNichol, and Mrs. Percy Eldridge.
Many useful and pretty gifts were received by the young couple.

MINNIE-ANDERSON
Pennfield, March 11 - A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Pennfield Baptist Church on Tuesday evening, March 7, at 8 o'clock when Mercedes Corinne Anderson, eldest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. George Anderson, of St. George, became the bride of William James Mennie, of the R.C.A., the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mennie, of Pennfield.
Given in marriage by her brother, James Anderson, the bride wore a floor length white sheer dress over taffeta, with brocade bodice and shirred neckline, long full sleeves, white gloves and slippers and finger
tip veil coronet style fastened with forget-me-nots. She carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses and wore a pearl pendant.
She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Clifton Leavitt, who wore a floor length gown of pink net dress over taffeta and matching halo hat with gold slippers and white gloves, and by Mrs. Hazen Justason, who wore a
floor length gown of sky blue sheer over taffeta with matching halo of blue flowers and shoulder length veil. Little Ruth Anderson, niece of the bridge, was flower girl.
The groom was supported by Ian Scoggins. L.A.C. Moore , R.A.F., furnished appropriate nuptial music.
The ushers were Aubrey Hatt and Maynard Campbell.
The church was prettily decorated in pink and white and the guest pews were marked with white ribbon. The bride's presents to her attendants were gold compacts and to the flower girl, a bracelet. The groom's
presents to the ushers were billfolds and to the best man a leather billfold, to the organist a leather pouch.
Following the wedding a reception was held at the home of the groom's sister, Mrs. Joseph Justason. Those assisting in serving were Mrs. Afton Leavitt, Mrs. James Anderson and Miss Eldora Sherwood. The bride's
mother wore a navy blue sheer over taffeta and a corsage of red roses. The groom's mother wore a navy blue crepe and a corsage of pink carnations..
After a short wedding trip throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia they will reside in Pennfield. For travelling the bride wore a sky blue alpaca crepe blue cloth coat with brown squirrel collar and navy
accessories. Many useful gifts of money, linen and china were received.

DENTON-THERIAULT
Black's Harbour, April 14 - A quiet wedding was held at the Calvary United Baptist Church parsonage on Saturday evening, April 8th, when the Rev. Lorne K. Baker united in marriage Mrs. Ida
Theriault of Black's Harbour, daughter of Mrs. and the late William Hooper of Back Bay, and Captain Edward Earl Denton, son of the late Captain and Mrs. J.S. Denton of Westport, N.S.
The bride wore a two piece dress of navy crepe made on tailored lines with matching accessories. Stanley C. Nickerson, son-in-law of the bride and Miss Reta Denton, daughter of the groom were witnesses.
Captain Denton is well known along the Bay of Fundy being the master of the "S.S. Connors Bros." Capt. and Mrs. Denton will reside in Black's Harbour.
Out of town guests were Miss Reta Denton of Fox Point, N.S., and Maurice Theriault of Saint John.

GAUDETT-GREENE
Black's Harbour, May 1 - A quiet wedding was solemnized at the Reformed Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon, April 26th, at 3:00 o'clock, when the Rev. H.S. Mullen, united in marriage
Marion Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Greene, of Black's Harbour, and George Calvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gaudett, also of Black's Harbour.
The bride was charming in a street length dress of heavenly blue silk crepe made on tailored lines in two piece style with matching hat and white accessories and carried an arm bouquet of Better Time Roses and
fern. Her attendant was Mrs. Ronald Gaudett, sister-in-law of the groom, who wore a two-piece street length dress of horizon rose silk crepe made on tailored lines with matching hat and white accessories and carried a bouquet of
pink and white carnations. Ronald Gaudett, brother of the groom, acted as groomsman.
The bride's gift to her attendant was perfume and the groom's gift to his brother was a Waterman's fountain pen.
The wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's table, covered with an embroidered linen cloth, was centred with a three-tiered wedding cake and decorations of spring flowers in
pink and white. In the evening a reception was held at the home of the groom's parents.
Out-of-town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Holt of Bocabec, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Matheson and daughter, Elaine, Mrs. Daniel Matheson and daughters, Marjorie and Isabel, all of St. George, Mrs. Douglas Frost of
Elmcroft, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Justason, Miss Louise Justason and Ernest Justason of Pennfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Gaudett will reside in Black's Harbour.

McDEVITT-DUGGAN
Black's Harbour, June 5 - A wedding of interest here took place in St. Columbkille's Church, Brighton, Mass., recently when Rev. R.J. Williams united in marriage Miss Rita Teresa Duggan,
and James Francis McDevitt, Cambridge, Mass.
Miss Katherine Duggan, formerly of Black's Harbor, was bridesmaid, while the groom was supported by Russell Dealey, of the U.S. Coastguard.
Mrs. McDevitt is a graduate of St. Michael's Academy, Chatham, and a graduate of St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton, Mass., and for the last year had been connected with the New Veterans' Hospital in Brighton.

CHENEY-HOBBS
Black's Harbour, June 27 - A quiet wedding was solemnized at the Baptist parsonage in Pennfield on Friday evening, June 16th, when the Rev. William R. Randall united in marriage Anita Pearl,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hobbs of Milltown, and Wilbert Mason, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cheney of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan.
The bride wore a salmon pink street length dress made on tailored lines, small queen's blue hat with veil, queen's blue coat and accessories. She was attended by Mrs. Wesley Leavitt as matron of honour who wore
a dusky rose dress made on tailored lines with beige hat, coat and accessories. Wesley Leavitt acted as groomsman.
The young couple will reside in Black's Harbour where they are both employed.

GUPTILL-BULL
PENNFIELD, N.B. - Mr. and Mrs. James Cowie have announced the engagement of their niece, Audrey Glenita Guptill, to Arnold Lee Bull, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bull of Eddington, Maine.
Miss Guptill is a 1972 graduate of Eastern Charlotte Regional School, St. George, N.B.
Bull is a 1970 graduate of Brewer High School, and is employed at St. Croix Hotel, Calais, Maine.
An April 7 wedding is planned, at the United Baptist Church, Pennfield, N.B.
