BLACK, John - Looking for information on the John Black who
applied for a soldier's pension in 1838. He stated that he had served as
a private in the 74th Regiment. Pension documents indicate that he died
Feb. 3, 1846, and that for some time before that he had been living with
his son, John Black of Pennfield. In 1847, John's widow, Jerusha Black,
applied for a widow's pension. She stated that she had married John in
Campobello in 1793. A later document indicates that she had moved to
Lubec, ME, to live with her daughter, Eliza A (Black) Francis. Anyone with information on John Black, his wife Jerusha or any additional children they may of had, please contact Deborah (Boyle) Gibson. |
GIBSON, Robert H.- According to his Civil War Pension records
Robert was born in 1831 in Pennfield, NB. He married Catherine Greenlaw
in 1854 and from their union two sons (Edward & William) were born.
