The dance hall was built by William Sweet and James Bell as a community entertainment center. The first dance was held Friday, May 29, 1929 and continued for many years. Music was provided by members of the Bell/Sweet families with Burton Orser, a blind pianist and local blacksmith John Hood as caller. Photo thanks to Marcia Fletcher |
