Hildred Josephine Newman born at Wilson's Beach August 14, 1908 died at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen, NH January 2, 2007 at the age of 98 1/2. Parents were Lincoln Allison Newman and Josephine (Calder) Newman. Hildred spent most of her life in the U.S. going to Bristol, Conn at age of 15, marrying Alfred Oswald Mallett(e). She lived in Rutland, Vermont, then from 1936 in Lubec, Maine. Alfred O. died in 1948. Hildred went to Vallejo, Calif in 1954 later married Percy A. Young who died in 1982; therefore Hildred J. Young at time of death. Came to NH in 1992.

Hildred Josephine Young 98, formerly of Ukiah, passed away January 2, 2007.
Hildred was born at Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. She was a volunteer at Ukiah Valley Medical Center for many years. She also was involved with the Ukiah Grange, VFW, and was a member of a Ukiah T.O.P.S. Club. Hildred was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Ukiah.
Hildred is survived by her son Alfred L. Mallet and his wife Hazel of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, son Albert C. Mallett and his wife Suzanne of Vallejo, CA. Grandchildren Bruce Mallet, Mark Mallett, Donna Davis, Doreen Clark, Johanna Harris, Vincent Mallett, Michael Mallett, David Mallett and Russell Mallett. 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Hildred was preceded in death by her husband Percy Anthony Young (Mike), her daughter Dorothy Louise Van Vliet and her great-grandson Scott Matthew Clark.
She will be laid to rest at Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island.
