(Newspaper clipping from "The Courier" dated September 3, 1986)  SAVAGE - At Campobello Lodge, August 26, 1986,  Miss Thelma P. Savage of Wilsons Beach, Campobello; survived by one sister, nieces and nephews and cousins.  Remains rested at Wilsons Beach United Baptist Church, from where the funeral was held Thursday, August 28, 1986 at 2 p.m.  Interment in the Wilson Beach Community Cemetery, MacDonalds Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, in charge of arrangements.

SAVAGE, DOREEN - The death of Doreen Savage of Wilson's Beach, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 31st, 2002. Born in Wilson's Beach, NB, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Beulah, (Jackson) Savage. Predeceased by infant son Stephen Dale and Ronald Graham Savage. Survived by her husband, Graham Savage; two daughters, Karen and her husband Roger Quirk of Lubec ME; Sharon and her husband Donald Fletcher of Campobello, NB; two sisters, Carol and her husband Darrell Dick of Saint John, NB; Ellen and her husband James Case of Campobello, NB; brother, Atwood and his wife Darlene Savage of Campobello, NB, three grandchildren, Nicholas and Robyn Fletcher, and Lauren Quirk, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday at 7 to 9 pm at the Wilson's Beach Baptist Church. The funeral will be held 2 pm on Sunday from the Wilson's Beach Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Look officiating. Interment will take place in Head Harbor Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Head Harbor Cemetery fund or to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated. MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen in care of arrangements.

VERNON ALVA SAVAGE CAMPOBELLO- Vernon Alva Savage, 65, died unexpectedly October 28, 1988, at the Down East Community Hospital in Machias, Maine. He was born on Campobello Island August 11, 1923, the son of Alwood and Ruby (Brown) Savage. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Squadron during World War 2 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #84. Vernon was a fisherman most of his life and worked for Herring Cove Provincial Park until he retired due to ill health. Survivors include his wife, Anna (Vennell) Savage of Campobello; two daughters, Joyce Wright of Campobello and Denise Gardner of Lubec, Maine; two sisters, Florence McGratten of St. George, N.B. and Harriett Sullivan of Gloucester, Mass; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Saint Anne's Anglican Church, Welshpool. Interment was in the Wilson's Beach Cemetery.

SAVAGE- At the Regional Medical Centre, Lubec, Maine, on February 15, 1993, Bonnie Jean Savage of Wilson's Beach, Campobello, N.B. Survived by her husband; mother and father; two daughters; three sisters; one brother; nieces and nephews. Remains rested at the Christian Temple Church until Friday, February 19, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Francis Mabey officiating. Interment in the Lubec Cemetary.

Malcolm David Savage died, after a courageous battle with cancer, on January 10, 2009, surrounded by his family who provided him with incredible care during his illness.

David, the first of five children, was born on May 15, 1943 in Darlington England to Ethelbert (Ep) and Doreen (Wilkinson) Savage.
David grew up on Campobello Island and after high school he served in the Canadian Air Force before returning to Campobello Island where raised his family and continued the family tradition as a lifelong fisherman, working with many family members during his life.

David married Donna (Matthews) Adams in 1963. He is survived by his six children; Terri Brown (Donald),Susan MacFeat (Jim), Angela Stuart (Joe),Andrew Savage(Heather), Kim Savage, David Ryan Savage; his six grandchildren; Jim and Molly Brown, Erica and Heather MacFeat, Brett and Jessica Stuart,brother Donald Savage, Sisters Linda Malloch, Beverly Savage and Kathleen Savage; nephews and nieces, Russell Savage, Carson Savage, Leah Matthews, Kevin Sawtelle, Paula Jones, Anna Fletcher, Scott Fitzgerald, Sarah Fitzgerald, Stephen Smart and Allison Smart great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, long time companion Brenda Fitzsimmons and great nephew Brandon Cline.

David was a fisherman who worked hard until his deteriorating health brought him ashore. Despite limitations occasioned by his health, David went on the water whenever he could. David will be remembered by his family with great love and strong memories as a devoted father, a man who always encouraged them, tried his best even in the most difficult situations, and who was always there to help in any way he could.

Visiting hours will be at the Anglican Hall of St. Annes Church in Welch Pool, Campobello Island on Tuesday January 13, 2009 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Annes Anglican Church, Welshpool on Wednesday January 14, 2009 at 2 p.m.
