Ollie Noonan Sr., 77, died June 22, 1988 at a Saint John, N.B. hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Boston, Mass. and lived in Norwell, Mass. before moving to Campobello Island, N.B.
Mr. Noonan was a well known photographer and worked for The Boston Globe, The Herald Traveler and The Record American. He photographed presidents from Roosevelt to Kennedy and had many award winning news photographs which showed sensitivity and compassion. He and his son Ollie Jr., who was killed in the Vietnam War, often worked on competing daily newspapers. After his retirement, he moved to Campobello Island where he and his wife owned and operated the Friar's Bay Gift Shop.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene of Campobello; two daughters, Lorene Austin and Judith Parker; and two granddaughters, Sandra Austin and Judith Austin. After cremation, memorial services were held in St. Anne's Church, Campobello.
