WILSON'S BEACH, CAMPOBELLO- Samuel Alan Monroe, 73, passed away March 31, 1993, at Saint John Regional Hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Lubec on January 4, 1916, the second son of Percy and Vivian (Marsten) Monroe. He had resided with a Calder family on Campobello from the age of four. He was employed as a security guard at Campobello International Roosevelt Park for 14 years. Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy (Lank) Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Carole) Newman of Fredericton; one granddaughter, Mrs. Dana (Mary Frances) Stairs of Temperancevale; three grandsons, Joel and his wife, Lori, of Campobello, Jared, and Bradley of Fredericton; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Cook of Lubec; and one brother, John of New Hampshire. Funeral services were held at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec, with the Rev. Francis Mabey officiating. Interment was in Wilson's Beach Cemetery.
