Campobello – Burton Lahey of Wilson’s Beach died unexpectedly at his home on August 8 1983. He was born at North Head, Grand Manan on October 5 1935 the son of Hazel (Ingersoll) Lahey and the late Wilfred Lahey.

He had resided on Campobello for 23 years where he was employed with Customs and Immigration on the Roosevelt Bridge. He was a member of the Church pf the Ascension, Grand Manan and Masonic Lodge member.

Survivors include his wife Charmayne (Green) Lahey; his mother Hazel Lahey of Grand Manan and Fredericton; one daughter Mrs. David (Cindy) Craig of Bonny River; five sons  Lauris  of fredricton,Roddy of Mars Hill, Maine, Richie, Lorne and Robbie all at home; two sisters, Mrs.Norman (Mary) Stewart of Pennfield and Mrs. Fraser (Pam) Forsythe of Milledgeville;Two grand children, Amanda Craig and Jason Lahey; several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Church of the Ascention, North Head, Grand Manan with Rev. Gray Officiating. Internment was in North Head Cemetery.
