The Late Edw. Lank

We have been requested to publish the following from a Grand Manan correspondent:

"The remains of the late Edw. Lank was brought to Wilson's Beach on Tuesday 28th, at 11:30 and taken  to his mother's home where many friends wee fathered. On Thursday the funeral was held at the Welshpool Church. There was the largest congregation evern seen in the church, the Rev. A.J. Proser, Baptist clergyman at the Beach, came with Mr. Lank's family.  They were met at the church by the Rev. W. H. Street, who read the solemn and impressive burial service.

Hymns 400, "Christ Will Gather in His Own", and 264, "They Will Be Done," were sung. There was not a dry eye in the congregation. The clergyman spoke
well and tried to comfort the friends.  The body of the deceased was laid beside his wife and child.  Great praise is given Capt. Snow and the undertaker at Yarmouth, for the way the body was put up.  After the long journey, he looked as if he had just fallen asleep.

The casket was the best ever seen in the church. We do not forget the other young man.   His family have our deepest sympathy. It was God's doings. Doubtless
when their sufferings were over here, they crossed to a brighter shore. God who holdesth the waters in the hollow of His hand, was able to save them. Capt. Snow feels the accident, but he is always careful and kind to his men. We hear that the deceased was soon to be married, and we feel sorry for the young lady, but it was God's will.
