The death of Evelyn Hooper occurred at the Campobello Lodge on November 20th 2002. Born in Eastport Maine, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Thomas) Moore. Predeceased by her parents and her husband Colby Hooper. Survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Stevens of St. George NB; three sons, Colby Jr. (Wilma) Hooper of Campobello NB; Brian (Lorna) of Campobello NB; Brent Hooper of Campobello NB; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday from United Pentecostal Church in Wilson's Beach with Pastor Todd McGuire officiating. Interment will take place in Head Harbor Cemetery. At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, following a brief illness, on April 3, 2005, Mrs. Sharon Lynn (Richardson) Hooper, wife of Barry Manning Hooper, of Wilson's Beach, Campobello, NB.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she was born in Campobello, NB, on November 25, 1937, and was a daughter of the late Reginald Ronald and Harriet Patricia (Homan) Richardson. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Janet (Russell) Ross of Digby, NS; two step-children, Wendy Hooper (Wilfred Pine) and Stephen Hooper (Shauna Matthews), both of Richardson, Deer Island; two grand-daughters, Samantha Lord, and Billy Jo Duran; two brothers, Reginald (Marilyn) Richardson, Dana (Betty) Richardson, all of Deer Island; four sisters, Patricia Smith (Goldwin) of Deer Island, Andrea Stuart (Kenneth) of St. George, Gail Stuart (Douglas) of Deer Island, and Beth Flewelling (Myles) of Calgary, AB; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Jeanette Lord.

Sharon enjoyed playing darts, watching the seals in the harbour, and was a member of the Women's Institute Society on Deer Island. Service to be held at 2 pm from the Lord's Cove Church of Christ, Lord's Cove, Deer Island on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating, followed by interment in the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder's Head, NB. Visiting hours at the church on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

Viola Ferne (Wright) Hooper Submitted by Melody Flynn

Campobello – Viola Ferne Hooper , 76, died December 27 1998 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Beaver Harbour March 26, 1922, the daughter of Grovenor and Dora Wright.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. James (Marguerite) Tinker of Campobello and Mrs. Arthur (Beverly) Mains of Calais; one son Robert and his wife Cindy Hooper of Campobello; one sister Thelma Leavitt of Black’s Harbour; three bothers, Frederick and his wife Lucille of Waterloo, Ont., Keith of Maces Bay, and Don of Black’s Harbour; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Carroll Hooper; and three brothers, Preston, Jerry and Jimmy.

A graveside service was held in the Head Harbour Cemetery, Campobello with Pastor Kevin Howe officiating.Pall bearers were Aaron Tinker, James Tinker, Andrew Hooper, Jonathon Hooper, Jeremy Hooper and Dwight Allingham.

Colby Emery Hooper Sr Submitted by Heather Waddingham

Campobello – Colby Emery Hooper Sr. passed away very suddenly at his home on Dec. 3, 1988. He was born on Campobello Feb 27, 1910, and was the son of the late Robert and Louisa (Phillips) Hooper. He was a resident of Campobello all his life.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Moore) Hooper; one daughter Elizabeth Stevens of St. George; three sons Colby Jr, Brian and Brenton (Bunky) all of Campobello; one sister, Mrs. Mary Newman, resident of Campobello Nursing Home; 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body rested at McDonald’s Funeral Home, St. Stephen until taken to the United Baptist Church, Wilson’s Beach, where the funeral was held on Tuesday December 6. The service was conducted by Rev. Walter Masson, assisted by Rev. Donn Williams, pastor of North Road Baptist Chruch.

Internment was at the Community Cemetery, Head Harbour.

Blake Reta Hooper, 94, of North Head, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Oswald and Flora (Stanley) Parker.

Blake will be remembered for her hard work and dedication at the Marathon Hotel with her sister, Jessie, at her side as they cooked, cleaned, and pampered the many guests that passed through the hotel over the years. She was also a faithful servant to the Lord, as she was a member of the North Head Wesleyan Church.
Survived by one granddaughter, Lavonne MacKenzie, of Quispamsis, N.B.; one grandson, Delma Doucette, Fredericton, N.B.; her great-grandchildren Jeremy and Barbie Doucette, Callie and Data Brainanta, and Colleen MacKenzie; also one great-great-grandson, Che Brainanta, the love of her life; two sisters, Stella Avery and Ella Gaskill, both of North Head, N.B.; many nieces and nephews; and will be missed by her friends and the staff at the Grand Manan Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; daughter, Margaret Doucette; sisters, Della Taylor, Nettie Taylor, Fern Small, Edith Searle and Jessie Hatt, and three brothers, Garfield, Harvey, and Cleveland Parker.

Visiting took place from Ells Funeral Home on Sunday. The funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., from the North Head Wesleyan Church with Rev. Charles Bain officiating. Interment followed at the North Head Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home, 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2. www.ells.ca
