Barnstable Eleanor B. Holmes, 90, a longtime resident of Cape Cod, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at her home.She was the wife of the late W. Dana Holmes for 60 years.
Mrs. Holmes was born and raised on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. She was a graduate of Eastport High School in Eastport, Maine. She later graduated from the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing. She lived in Lynn until moving to the Cape in 1936. She was a member of the Unitarian Church in Barnstable.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by a daughter, Harriette Biarrio of Watertown; two grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Dean C. Holmes.
A memorial service was held at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport.
