Esther Jane Greene of Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island, died July 3, 1993 at Charlotte County Hospital. She was 77. Born at Wilson's Beach, she was the daughter of the late James and Rilda Mitchell. She is survived by one daughter, Dolores (Mrs. John Blackmer) of Fredericton; one son, Dennis (Lorraine) Greene of Grandmanan; three grandchildren, Vincent (Rhonda) Greene, Denise (Jordan) Leighton of Grandmanan, and Jeffrey Blackmer of London, Ont.; one sister, Lelia Quigley of Campobello; one brother, Judson Mitchell of Boston, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Rilda Mitchell; her husband, Clifton Greene; three brothers; and three sisters. The funeral service was held at Wilson's Beach United Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 6. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Grandmanan.

Suddenly at Campobello, on February 1, 1993, Linda Jean Greene of Wilson's Beach, Campobello; survived by her husband; three sons; one brother; several nieces and nephews. Cremation took place on Wednesday with a memorial service on Thursday, February 4 at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, Maine at 3 p.m. canadian time with Rev. Francis Mabey officiating.

At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, March 19, 2004, Sheldon Dallas Greene of Wilsons Beach, NB. Survived by 3 sons; Scott (Mary), Bruce and Derek, all of Lubec, Maine, 3 grandchildren, special friend Donna Marie, 1 brother; Afton (Terry) Campobello, NB, 1 sister; Charmain Tucker (Sam), Saint John, NB, several nieces and nephews.

No visitation by request. Memorial service will be held at the Pentecostal Church, Wilsons Beach, NB on Tuesday March 23, 2004 at 2PM with Pastor Todd McGuire officiating. 1940-2009

Greene - with his family by his side, M. Afton Greene went to be with his Lord on Friday Feb. 27, 2009 at Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephen, N. B. after a long illness. He was born on March 25, 1940, the son of the late Medley and Margaret (Mitchell) Greene.

Afton is survived by his loving wife, Terry (Gardner) Greene, Wilson's Beach; son, Trevor Greene (Jodie McCurdy) St. Stephen; Mac Greene (Michelle McCurdy) Wilson's Beach; daughter, Tracy Cline (Gerald Cline) Welshpool. Seven loving grandchildren Brendan and Megan Greene, St. Stephen; Jeremy and Jessica Greene, Wilson's Beach; Nicholas, Jeffrey and Jordan Cline, Welshpool and great- granddaughter, Larissa Cline, Welshpool; one sister, Charmayne Tucker, Saint John, N.B. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by brother Sheldon (Buddy) Greene and wife, Linda (Ryan) Greene.

Afton was a life-long resident of Campobello who was loved and well-respected by the community. He was in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps from 1959 - 1962. After returning to Campobello, he worked at various jobs until becoming Park Manager at Herring Cove Park in 1976 retiring in 2002. He made many life-long friends while at the Park and also as a member of AA.
A memorial service will be held at the United Pentecostal Church, Wilson's Beach on Friday, March 06, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society.

Terry Lee (Gardner) Greene Submitted by Heather Waddingham Added September 2009

With her family by her side, Terry went to be with her Lord on Saturday May 2, 2009 at her home in Wilson’s Beach after a long illness. She was born in Machias, Maine on December 16, 1944, the daughter of the late Harold Gardner and Rowena (London) Gardner.

Terry is survived by her three loving children, Trevor Greene and wife Jodie of St. Stephen and Mac Greene and wife Michelle of Wilson’s Beach; daughter, Tracy Cline and husband Gerald (Jeff) of Welshpool; seven loving grandchildren, Brendan and Megan Greene of St. Stephen, Jeremy and Jessica Greene of Wilson’s Beach, Nicholas, Jeffrey and Jordan Cline of Welshpool; and one precious great granddaughter Larissa Cline of Welshpool; stepmother, Edith Gardner along with two sisters Susan Aldrich of Lubec and Mary Hopkins of Bath; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband M. Afton Greene.

Terry lived in Lubec with her grandparents, Cavalier and Clara London, until she graduated high school. After marrying she moved to Campobello where she was well known and respected by the community. Upon having children she remained at home to raise them, returning to work at the Bank of Nova Scotia, retiring in 2001.

She was very active and involved with the Friends of Head Harbour Light station, Baptist church committees, and various fund raising groups. She loved being outside gardening and whale watching, and enjoying the birds that visited her feeders. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at the church.
