Joseph B. Gough Campobello - Joseph Burton Gough, 71, died October 22, 1985 at his home in Welshpool, Camlpobello Island, N.B. He was born in Welshpool on January 11, 1914, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gough. He worked in the fishing industry from the early 1930s to the middle 1970s especially as the captain of herring carriers in the Bay of Fundy weir and purseseine fisheries.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; sister, Lorene Noonan of Welshpool; sons, Joseph Jr. of Aylmer, Que. and Stephen of Welshpool; daughter, Mary Helen Robichaud of Cavendish, P.E.I.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at St. Anne's Anglican Church, Welshpool, and a Mass was said for him at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Welshpool. Interment was at St. Anne's Cemetery, Welshpool.
