Thelma E. Fraser, 92, of Spring Street, formerly of South Portland and Windham, died Aug. 31, 2001, at a Westbrook health care facility.She was born in Eastport, a daughter of Herman and Annetta Cox Matthews, and grew up on Campobello Island, Canada, where she attended school.She moved to Portland when she was 18, and worked at the former Spearfolk Candy Shop, where she met her husband, Roy W. Fraser. They were married for nearly 50 years.
