FLETCHER, ANNABELLE JANE - The death of Annabelle Jane Fletcher of 43 Cooks Point Road, Wilson's Beach, Campobello occurred at the Campobello Lodge Nursing Home on Sunday, September 16, 2001. Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Alice (Jamieson) Fletcher. Annabelle is survived by two sisters, Sonja Ramsdell of Machais, Me. and Brenda Cabral and her husband Alfred of Hartland, NB; two brothers, Brian Fletcher and his wife Julie and Donnie Fletcher and his wife Sharon all of Campobello; several nieces and nephews. Visitation was at the North Road Baptist Church, Welshpool on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral was held at 2 pm on Thursday September 20 from the church with Pastor Alfred Cabral and Rev. Donn Williams officiating. Interment took place in the Head Harbour Cemetery. Arrangements were in care of MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen.

FLETCHER- The death of Ethel Mae Fletcher of Wilson’s Beach, Campobello, N.B. occurred at her residence on Feb. 12, 1998. Born at Lubec, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Ethel (Case) Tucker.

Predeceased by one sister Ella Cassidy. She is survived by her husband Sheldon Fletcher; three sons, Randy Tucker and his wife Donna of Lubec, Stanley Fletche and his wife Trudy of Campobello, and Stephen Fletcher and his wife Naomi of Campobello; six daughters, Jessie, Mrs. Robert Hooper of Campobello, Paula, Mrs. Dexter Lyons of Lubec, Shelley Brewster of Eastport, Me., Holly Smith of Perry, Me., Ella Fletcher of Campobello, and Anna Fletcher of Campobello; three brothers, Wallace Tucker, Merrill Tucker and William Tucker, al of Lubec; one sister Harriett Skinner of Lubec; 24 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held 2 p.m. on Sunday from the United Pentecostal Church, Wilson’s Beach, Campobello, with Pastor Tony Stoddart and Rev. George Howe officiating. Interment will take place in the Head Harbour Cemetery in the Spring.

The community of Wilson's Beach was saddened on Monday when it became known that Mrs. Charles Fletcher had passed away suddenly from a heart attack.  She had been in poor health for sometime, but her death was entirely unexpected. She was born in Halifax, N.S. 67 years ago.

Mrs. Fletcher was most beloved and respected personality. A true christian in every way, quite by nature,but going about always doing good.Her home and her family always came first when she was a devoted wife and mother she always found a place in her home for others whom she did from time to time.

Up until two months ago the deceased had been a resident of St. John, and this summer had come home to reside in her old home.She was a devout member of the United Church of St.John.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn four daughters, Mrs. Harry Jackson, Mrs. Howard Anthony, Miss Evelyn Fletcher at home, who tenderly cared for her mother during her illness, and Mrs. Calvin Hampton of Mattapan, Mass., and two sons Leroy Fletcher of Wilson's Beach and Eldon Fletcher of St. John.Who all grew up to call her "Blessed".

A number of grandchildren also mourn her passing, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Chipman, and Mrs. George Campbell of St.John. N.B.

The funeral was large;y attended and was held on Wenesday afternoon from the late home. Rev.F.E. Roop and Rev. Wilfred Outhouse, a friend of the family conducted the service.

Favorite hymns "Over the River" "Abide With Me" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" were sung by the United Church choir.

The bearers were Charles Greenwood,Walter Searles, Ernest Campbell, George Ricker, Varnal and Maurice Fletcher.There were many beautiful floral tributes from the family and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Fletcher and son, Mrs. George Campbell and son Ernest, Mr. and Mrs. George Ricker ,Mr. and Mrs. A. Miller, Miss Olive Jackson and Miss Merle anthony, all of St.John, and Mr. George Fletcher of Lubec attended the funeral.

CAMPOBELLO ISLAND, New Brunswick - Clayton E. Fletcher, 79, died Oct. 27, 2003, at a St. Stephen, New Brunswick hospital. He was born Feb. 29, 1924, at Head Harbor, Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island, New Brunswick, the son of Roy and Gertrude (Lank) Fletcher. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and was a life member and past commander of the Stuart-Green Post No. 65 American Legion of Lubec. Clayton was predeceased by his wife, June (Cumberland) Fletcher; a brother, Raymond; two sisters, Roma Fletcher and Edna Daigle. Surviving are his daughter, Christine Ann Chute and her husband, Harvey, of Campobello, New Brunswick; two granddaughters, Rhonda Cook and her husband, Graham, and children, Heather Mitchell and her husband, Dennis, and children, all of Campobello, New Brunswick; two brothers, Sheldon Fletcher of Campobello, New Brunswick, Wilfred Fletcher of White Head, New Brunswick; one sister, Annie Curry of Marysville, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. (American time) Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. (American time) Thursday, Oct. 30, with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Lubec. Arrangements are by the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, ME.

Wilson’s Beach, Campobello- Varnal Tobin Fletcher passed away Saturday, October 1, 1983 at the Down East Hospital in Machias, after a sudden massive heart attack at his home in Wilson’s Beach from where he was taken by ambulance.

He was born at Wilson’s Beach May 2, 1904, the son of Annie Aurelia Tinker and Blan Tobin Fletcher.

He resided at Wilson’s Beach all his life. He learned the boat building and sail making trade from his father and after his father’s death he and his brother Maurice carried on these trades for many years. The past few years he had made many model ships

He was a member of the Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Maurice Bolan and Blan Irvin, also five nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at the Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church by Pastor Middleton assisted by Rev. Don Williams at the North Road Baptist Church.

Varnol T. Fletcher 

At Machias, Me., October 1 1983, Varnol T. Fletcher of Wilson’s Beach, Campobello Island; survived by two brothers, nieces and nephews.

Rested at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen until Monday when the body was taken to Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church. The funeral service was held on Tuesday October 4 at 2 p.m. at the Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church. Rev. Mr. S. Middleton officiated.

Interment in the Wilson’s Beach Cemetery.

Mrs. Dolly A. Fletcher passed away at her home here on Friday morning Feb 3 after a short illness. She was in her eighty-seventh year. She leaves four sons, Charles of St. John, George of Lubec, Fred of Leominster, Mass., and Blan at home, and two daughters Mrs. George Seelye, of Gardiner, Mass., and Mrs. Levi Mitchell at home. Also several grandchildren and grea grandchildren, one brother Nathan Searls. Of late years she had been cared for by her grandson and wife Mr and Mrs. Roy Fletcher. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended, the services being by the Pastor Lic. S.D. Trites. The sympathy of all is extended to the sorrowing ones thus befret of a kind and loving mother.

Campobello - Eldon Fletcher passed away unexpectedly on the golf course at Westfield, NB.

He was born at Wilson's Beach, the son of the late Mr and Mrs Charles Fletcher.

Survivors include a son, Lawrence of Ontario; two daughters, Mrs. Alex McAllister of Saint John , NB; Mrs Gordon Rankine of Westfield, NB; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Howard Anthony of Black's Harbour, Mrs Calvin Hampton of Wilson's Beach,  Miss Evelyn Fletcher of Saint John, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
