Wilson's Beach, Campobello- Mrs. John Fitzsimmons passed away at her home here on Tuesday of last week, after two days of illness. The deceased was a daughter of the late Wm. James and was twice married. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Whittier, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Blaidsell in the United States and Mrs. Carter who lives near, also four sons, Charles, William, Earl and Joseph all living at home, two sisters, Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Duncan, and one half-sister, Mrs. Parker, also several grandchildren. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to them all in their sad loss.

At the Togus Veterans Hospital, Augusta, Maine, May 12, 1993, Herbert Ralph Fitzsimmons of Wilson's Beach, Campobello, N.B.

Survived by his wife; three sons; one sister; two brothers; 6 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Remains rested at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, Maine, until Friday, may 14, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. canadian time with the Rev. Francis Mabey officiating.

Interment in the Wilson's Beach New Cemetery.

The death of Janet Vennell Fitzsimmons, of Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island, N.B., occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Oct. 29, 2004. Born in Norwood, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Vennell) Frost. Survived by her husband, Joseph Fitzsimmons; two daughters, Kimberley (Kevin) Farmer of Wilson's Beach, N.B., and Ellen Fitzsimmons of Fredericton, N.B.; son, Kenneth (Melanie) of Wilson's Beach, N.B.; sister, Nancy (Edward) Cline of Welshpool, N.B.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Leslie Fitzsimmons; grandson, Brady; and sister, Louise Glazebrook. Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 at the St. Anne's Anglican Church, Welshpool. The funeral was held on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 from the church, with Rev. Charles Smart officiating. The pallbearers for the service were Omer (Turk) Brunet, Lee Newman, Tom Hendershot, Timmy Martin, John Brown and Kevin Farmer. Interment took place at Head Harbour Cemetery.

WHITING - Charles H. Fitzsimmons Jr., 57, passed away unexpectedly April 2, 2006. He was born Feb. 18, 1949, iin West Lubec, the son of Charles H. Fitzsimmons Sr. and Florence (Ramsdell) Fitzsimmons. Charlie worked 34 years as a teacher in the Edmunds Consolidated School. He also served as a basketball coach for 25 years at Edmunds Cons. School, Lubec High School, and Washington Academy. In 1967, he won the state two-mile in cross-country as a junior at Lubec High School. He received the highest award in Boy Scouts, the God and Country Award, under the supervision of the Rev. Donald Stockford.

Charlie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed basketball, tennis, baseball, cross-country skiing, golf and ping-pong. He especially enjoyed watching baseball and boxing. He was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and Muhammad Ali. He took great pride in being physically fit and was an exceptional athlete. He loved the ocean and being on the water. Charlie also enjoyed genealogy work and tracing family history. His family was the most important thing in his life, as there was no greater joy for him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sally (Albee) Fitzsimmons; son, Chad Fitzsimmons of East Machias; daughter, Sandra (Fitzsimmons) Anderson and husband, Michael, of Machias; mother, Florence Fitzsimmons of Lubec;
sister, Una Hatch and husband, William, of Bucksport; sister, Maureen Albee and husband, Brian, of East
Machias; brother, Daniel Fitzsimmons and wife, Noreen, of Lubec; three grandchildren, Zain Fitzsimmons, Kyle
Anderson and Jaydin Anderson; father-in-law, Keith Albee of East Machias; special lifelong friend, Carl
Hood of Lubec; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles H. Fitzsimmons Sr. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec officiated by Pastor Scott Porter. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Mary Brenda Fitzsimmons - The death of Mary Brenda Fitzsimmons of 2 North Road, Welshpool, New Brunswick, occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on Monday August 29, 2005. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Reddy) Begin and the late Charles Begin. She is survived by David Savage; her mother, Dorothy; sisters, Joyce (Doug) Pack, Jeannie (Patrick) Joseph and Monnie Begin; brothers, Charles Begin, John (Liz) Begin, Paul (Jola) Begin and Robert Begin; several nieces and nephews. Resting at the North Road Baptist Church, Welshpool, New Brunswick, with visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9. The funeral will be held 2 pm on Thursday from the North Road Baptist Church, with Rev. John Tremblett officiating. Interment will take place in the North Road Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated. MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen in care of arrangements.

LUBEC - Florence Dean Fitzsimmons died Nov. 22, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born Dec. 24, 1924, in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, New Brunswick. She was one of six children to Irving and Rena (Wilcox) Ramsdell. Her family moved to Lubec in the 1930s. She married Charles H. Fitzsimmons in 1946. She worked for many years in the fish processing industries in Lubec. She loved living close to the ocean. She enjoyed walking on the beach picking up sea glass and the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and her husband raised four children. She is survived by her daughters, Una Hatch and her husband, William, of Bucksport, Maureen Albee and her husband, Brian, of East Machias; a son, Daniel and his wife, Noreen, of Lubec; and a daughter-in-law, Sally Fitz-simmons of Whiting. She is also survived by a brother, Barry Cox and wife, Cindy; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with number nine on the way. Additionally, she is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Henry Fitzsimmons Sr.; a son, Charles Henry Fitzsimmons Jr.; an infant brother, Kenneth; brother, Austin Ramsdell; sisters, Belva (Rams-dell) Cox, Frieda (Ramsdell) Cook and Una Ramsdell. She was also predeceased by her "Prayer Warrior," Betty Rier. She will be missed dearly by her traveling buddy, Christine Ramsdell and many other friends in Down East Maine and New Brunswick. Friends may visit 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with the Rev. Betty Duzen officiating. Interment will be after at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lubec. The family would like to thank you for your support and genuine sympathy during these most difficult times. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
