MILTON 'PAT' DINSMORE LUBEC - Milton Reed Dinsmore Jr., 83, died peacefully July 1, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Lubec, the son of Milton Reed Dinsmore Sr. and Celia Ramsdell Dinsmore.

He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Minerva Ingalls Dinsmore; by his son, Delamere Dinsmore and his wife, Sharon, of Lubec; two daughters, Carolyn St. John and her husband, Matthew, of Glenburn, and Marilyn St. John and her husband, Kenneth, of Bangor; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Muriel McCurdy of Lubec who he loved to visit and share memories with; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Delamere Small and Roland "Buddy" Dinsmore. He loved to fish, hunt and trap. He spent many hours on the shore digging clams and just enjoying the beauty of the coast. He had to leave his home in Lubec to take a job working for Bangor Hydro. After spending 28 years with the Hydro and living in Old Town, he and Minerva moved back to Lubec. We will be remembering how happy they both were in their final years together there. He was a life member of North American Hunting Club, a member of the NRA, and the Maine Trappers Association. We won't be sad for you Daddy (only for ourselves). We will all be missing you, your wonderful stories about your life, and that twinkle in those beautiful blue eyes.

At his request, there will be no viewing hours. A graveside service will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, we request that everyone touched by his life in some way, take a moment to be thankful that we knew him, and grateful that he passed away as he wanted: peacefully, free of pain and surrounded by loved ones. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.

Minerva I. Dinsmore Submitted Heather Waddingham Added December 2007

Saturday, September 29, 2007 - Bangor Daily News

LUBEC and OLD TOWN Minerva I. Dinsmore, 82, died peacefully Sept. 24, 2007. She was born Dec. 13, 1924, in East Machias, the daughter of John Ingalls and Adelle Smith Ingalls. She lived in Old Town and worked as secretary to Dr. Peter Gaetani for several years and in 1982 she and Pat retired and moved back to Lubec, where they lived until 2005. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved playing the bingo and knitting mittens and other things for her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children; she would be the first to say they were the "love of her life."

We're grateful for so many things: that she was such a big part of our lives and we such a big part of hers, that she was the best teacher of all the important lessons in life, that she got to share her life, not only with her biological family, but with her "other family," the residents and staff at the Woodlands, Brewer. She was truly happy there, thank you all for that. She loved doing puzzles and spent hours in the activity room either starting or finishing one, we hope someone will take over for her. We will be forever grateful that the day she passed she was happy. She felt good, even played bingo in the afternoon, took her daily afternoon nap and on the way to dinner, she left us the best gift of all by passing peacefully, without fear or pain, surrounded by people who truly cared for her. We all have a favorite memory and will be cherishing and sharing them and missing her forever. Our only regret is that we didn't hug her "just a little tighter" and that she couldn't have stayed with us "just a little longer."

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn St. John and her husband, Matthew, of Glenburn and Marilyn St. John and her husband, Kenneth, of Bangor; a son, Delamere Dins-more and his wife, Sharon, of Lubec; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 17 great-grand-children; a sister, Lois Ouellette and her husband, Norman, of Bolton, Conn.; a brother, Harold Ingalls and his wife, Laurie, of East Machias; a special niece, Annie Delaware and her husband, Edward, of Bradley; several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Milton "Pat"; her parents; four sisters, Josephine, Muriel, June and Faye; and a brother, Newton. A graveside service will be announced for both Pat and Minerva at a later date. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor
