CLINE, MARION ROSE - The death of Marion Rose Cline of Wilson’s Beach, Campobello, occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on Saturday, August 4, 2001. Born in Campobello she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mona (Harvey) Mathews. Marion touched so many people with her love and generosity and was loved in return by all who had the good fortune to know her. Predeceased by her parents, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband Winston (Skipper) Cline; one daughter, Vicki, Mrs. Alan Seeley; two sons, Joe and Reese Cline; four brothers, Harvey, William, and Clayton Cline and George Babcock; eight grandchildren, Conrad and Beth Seeley, Dylan, Brandon and Deidre Cline, Heather, Wally and Kora Cline; one great grandson, Adam Seeley; several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Wilson’s Beach, United Baptist Church, Campobello with visiting on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held 2 pm on Tuesday from the church with Rev. Gerry VanderVeen officiating. Interment will take place in the Head Harbour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Campobello Fire Department or the Cemetery Fund would be appreciated. CLINE, PRINCE - The death of Mr. Prince Cline of Welshpool, NB, occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital on July 27th, 2002. Born in Lubec, Maine, he was the son of the late Prince B. and Helen A. (Allingham) Cline. Predeceased by infant brother Murray Raymond Cline. Survived by three sisters, Vonnie (Wally) Lamont of Garnett Settlement, NB; Alison Suchostawski of Mississauga, ON; Evelyn (Jim) Hachey of Saint John, NB; one brother, Bernard (Theresa) Cline of Victoria, BC; several nieces and nephews. Prince was a long-time employee at the MBIP Mill in Dalhousie. Prince also worked in the salmon Aquiculture industry in Campobello. Prince's pastime included sitting at the "liar's" bench with his favorite buddies. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday from St. Anne's Anglican Church with Rev. Charles Smart officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. CLINE, BRANDON WILLIAM - The death of Brandon Wm. Cline occurred by accident in Campobello, NB on September 28, 2002. Born in Machias, Maine. He was the son of Robert and Anna (Fitzgerald) Fletcher. Predeceased by his grand mother Nana Cline. He is survived by his parents; grand-parents, Robert Fitzgerald and Beverly Savage, Patricia Fletcher and Winston Cline; two brothers, Dylan Cline and Kyle Fletcher; three sisters, Jade Fletcher, Robyn Fletcher and Deidra Cline; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also survived by a special family where he was loved and he loved them and they know who they are. Resting at the Wilsons Beach United Baptist Church with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. A graveside service will be held 2 pm on Wednesday at the Head Harbour Cemetery with Pastor Todd Maguire and Rev. Gerry Vander Veen officiating. WELSHPOOL, CAMPOBELLO- Marion H. Cline, 73, passed away at Charlotte County Hospital, June 4, 1988 after a lengthy illness. She was born at North Head, Grand Manan on May 20, 1915, the daughter of Ernest and Annie Hatt. She attended school at North Head, Grand Manan and during her adult years, spent her time alternately between North Head and Welshpool. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary of Welshpool. Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Brinton; four sisters, Doris Mawhinney, Iris Ingersoll, Esther Johnson and Winnifred Delaney; one grandson, Merrill Brinton; one granddaughter, Heidi Brinton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from St. Anne's Anglican Church with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial was in St. Anne's Cemetery.

CLINE- Gerald Francis Cline died March 21, 1996, after a long illness. He was born April 21, 1927, at Welshpool, the son of Hilda (Townsend) and Erlon Cline. He spent much of his life in the fishing industry where he captained fishing boats from Portland to Yarmouth. He is survived by his wife Isabel Dawn; a daughter, Gwen and husband Dennis Turner of Perry, Maine; a son, Gerald (Jeff) and his wife Tracy Cline of Lime Kiln Bay, N.B.; a sister, Erlene Newman of Campobello; several nieces and cousins; grandchildren, Amy Turner, Jeffery and wife Vicki Turner, all of Perry, Maine; Nicolas, Jeffrey and Jordan Cline of Lime Kiln Bay, and one great granddaughter, Tori Turner whom he loved dearly.

The death of Arthur Cline of Campobello, occurred at the Campobello Lodge Nursing Home on January 25, 2005. Born in Campobello, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Charles and Daisy Cline.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Porter) Cline; daughter Loretta Ann; two sisters and seven brothers. Survived by two daughters, Nellie Barker of Wilson's Beach; Teresa Sarchfield of Wilson's Beach; two sons, James (Erma) Cline of Wilson's Beach; Michael (Adrianne) Cline of Wilson's Beach; brother, Bev Cline of Saint John; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held 2pm on Monday January 31, 2005 from the Wilson's Beach Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Albert Galbraigh officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at the Wilson's Beach Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.

The death of Beverly M. Cline occurred on March 6, 2005 in Saint John while visiting with his niece Evelyn Hachey and her husband James. Born on Grand Manan on May 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Cline and Jennie (Raymond) Cline.

For the past three years, Beverly had made his home with his niece Vonnie Lamont and her husband Wally in Garnett Settlement. Prior to this time, Beverly resided in Dalhousie with his brother Prince Cline and wife Helen until relocating to Campobello Island in 1970. Beverly enjoyed making quilt tops, scrapbooking, and loved country music videos. His photo albums showed the love he had for all his family and friends. Most of all, Beverly looked forward to spending the summer months at his home on Campobello Island with his niece Alison Suchostawski and enjoyed all the activities around the North Road break-water.

He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Doone, Whitby, Ontario and Lila Babineau of Lincoln, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by sisters, Lou Thurber, Reida Bielli, Vonnie Henderson and Minnie Slack, also brothers, Charles, James, Erlon, Douglas, Murray, Prince Vernon and Leroy Cline, Gerald, Douglas and Harley Raymond.

Following cremation the funeral and committal service will take place at St. Anne's Anglican Church, Welshpool at a later date. CLINE, MARJORIE MARY - Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, on November 2, 2005, Mrs. Marjorie Mary (Brown) Cline, wife of the late Horace Burton Cline, of St. Andrews and formerly of Deer Island. Born in Campobello, NB on July 8, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Asa and Zelma (Newman) Brown. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and special aunt, she is survived by one daughter, Jeanine (Reid) Hurley of St. Andrews; one brother, Freeman Brown of Deer Island; special nephew, Richard (Janet) Cline of St. George; two granddaughters, Mary-Anne Hurley-Corbyn (Peter) of Fredericton and Joanne Stone (Barry) of Fredericton; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon and Paige; one niece, three nephews, and several cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Wendall Brown. Marjorie was a Baptist by faith. She loved Square Dancing and painting. CLINE, Maude E., 100   LUBEC - Maude E. Cline, 100, died May 27, 2001, at a Machias health-care facility. She was born in Princeton, Dec. 27, 1900, the daughter of George and Clara (Hodsdon) McDowell. She was a member of the Christian Temple Church of Lubec. She was employed for many years by the numerous sardine factories in Lubec. Maude was known throughout the community as a great caregiver. She will be sadly missed by her family, especially James Coggins. She was predeceased by her husband, Teeney; two sisters, Velma Wentworth and Lelia Jenks; three brothers, Everett, Leroy and Charles McDowell. Surviving are three sons, Wilfred Cline of Tennessee, Ronald Cline of Seattle, Wash., and Edward Cline of Calais; one daughter, Mary Coggins of Lubec; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome to call at the home of Jed and Mary Coggins, and at the church one hour prior to service time. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Burial will be in Corey Cemetery. Campobello - Mrs. Carrie Isabelle Cline passed away June 18 1970. Her husband, Maurice Cline, pre-deceased her by a number of years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Ruth) Galley and Mrs. Burton (Cecille) Matthews, both of Wilson's Beach; three sons, Merwyn of St. Andrew's, Ryder of Eastport and Winston at Wilson's Beach; a brother Stanley Lank, a sister Bessie Lank, both of Welshpool; two other sisters and two other brothers living in the States; sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at St. Anne's Anglican church in Welshpool. Internment was in the Wilson's Beach Cemetery.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Wilfred R. Cline, 84, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at his home. He was born May 17, 1923, in Lubec, the first child of Charles R. and Maude McDowell Cline. He married Lois Creath and together they had David and Christine Ann. After Lois' untimely death, he married Ruby Moores and together they had Sherrill Marie. The family lived most of their lives in Lubec and later moved to Woodland. It was his ill health that forced the migration to Tennessee and warmer weather. Wilfred was a carpenter, fisherman and loved the ocean and Maine. He and Ruby traveled to Holland, Germany, Paris and across the U.S. He was a 55-year member of Washington Masonic Lodge No. 37 of Lubec, something that gave him great pride. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby; son, David; daughters and special sons-in-law, Sherrill and Allan Harriman, and Christy and Charles Halsted; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was especially close to grandson, John Harriman, with whom he shared many memorable experiences. John's sons, Matthew and Lucas, new additions to the family, filled Wilfred's last months with great joy. His only granddaughter, Angela Olson Hart of Bangor, will forever cherish their tea parties. He is also survived by brothers, Ronald of Washington, Edward of Calais; sister, Mary Coggins of Lubec, many nieces and nephews. The family is sincerely grateful for the loving care and concern given this past year by Gateway Hospice, Kyong Marshall, Helga King, Ajax-Turner Senior Center, all of Clarksville and for those who sent cards and prayers our way. Deidre "Nancy" Cline

1929-2008

Deidre Cline, better known as Nancy to friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 in St. Stephen, NB. She was born in 1929 in Norwood, MA, to Leslie and Mary Frost. Nancy grew up in Norwood with her two sisters and graduated from Norwood High School and Peabody School for Girls with a diploma in Culinary Science. While spending summers on Campobello Island, she met Edward “Roger” Cline and they were married on September 4, 1948. Nancy and Roger built their home in Welshpool on Campobello in 1951 and have lived there ever since.

In 1957, she gave birth to their daughter, Elizabeth. Nancy was a life-long member of St. Anne's Anglican Church and a member of St. Anne's guild for 60 years. She volunteered her services to St, John Ambulance on Campobello for many years, serving as an ambulance attendant and as an instructor. She was awarded the Serving Sister of St. John Ambulance medal in Ottawa, ON, for her outstanding dedication to that organization.

Nancy was an extremely talented quilt maker. She loved to craft hand-made quilts to mark the graduations of her granddaughters, anniversaries, and other special occasions in her family. St. Anne’s Church Guild honored her in 2004 by dedicating their semi-annual quilt show to Nancy. She loved spending evenings chatting to friends at church suppers and spending summer days on the deck of the family camp in Whiting. She was incredibly lucky and seemed to win door prizes at nearly every event she attended. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to chat to anyone and everyone. She will be greatly missed.

Nancy is predeceased by her two sisters, Isabelle “Ducky” Glazebrook of Walpole, MA and Janet Fitzsimmons of Campobello Island, and her life-long friend Clara Rogers of Norwood, MA. She is survived and is sorely missed by her husband of nearly 60 years, Edward Cline; her daughter Elizabeth and husband Jack Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME; two granddaughters, Catherine and husband Chris Singley of Topsham, ME, and Kelly Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME and Ashford, CT; and several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Kim Farmer. She leaves behind many good friends on Campobello and in the surrounding area.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, May 16th at 1:00 PM Atlantic time at St. Anne's Church on Campobello. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 15th from 7-9 (Atlantic time) at St. Anne's Church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Charlotte County Cancer Society or to St. Anne’s Church would be appreciated by the family.

CLINE, EDWARD (Roger) - Edward Cline, better known as Roger to family and friends, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in St. Stephen, NB. He was born in 1919 on Campobello Island, NB, to Edith and Frank Cline.

He was a lifelong resident of Campobello. Roger married Nancy (Frost) Cline on September 4, 1948, and they had one daughter, Elizabeth. He built his family a home in Welshpool on Campobello in 1951 and lived there ever since. He was a commercial fisherman for much of his life, as well as a construction truck driver and a groundskeeper for Herring Cove Provincial Park. He enjoyed reading, taking rides to Head Harbour lighthouse, and going out on the ocean in the family boat, and going to church suppers with his wife . He loved spending summer days at the family camp in Whiting with his grandchildren, where he enjoyed telling stories about fishing.

He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 60 years, Deidre (Nancy) Cline, in May 2008, as well as several brothers and sisters. He is survived and greatly missed by his daughter Elizabeth and husband Jack Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME; one sister, Margaret Smith of Dublin, GA; two granddaughters, Catherine and husband Chris Singley of Topsham, ME, and Kelly Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME and Willington, CT; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kim Farmer of Campobello. Resting at St. Anne's Anglican Church Hall, Welshpool, Campobello, NB from where the visitation will be held on Thursday evening only from 6 to pm. The family is sincerely grateful for the loving care and concern given this past year by Gateway Hospice, Kyong Marshall, Helga King, Ajax-Turner Senior Center all of Clarksville and for those who sent cards and prayers our way. There will be a memorial service/interment in Lubec at a later date.

(March 29, 1933 - October 25, 2008)

Ruby A. Cline, 75, Clarksville, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Skyline Hospice following an extended period of failing health. The remains are to be cremated. No services are planned. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born March 29, 1933, in Lubec, Maine, daughter of Isabelle (Mahar) and Freeman Morres. She married Wilfred Cline in December 1951. Together they had a daughter, Sherrill Marie and she helped raise his daughter Christine Ann. They lived in Lubec and Woodland before moving to Tennessee after retirement. They traveled together as long as health permitted and enjoyed visiting Europe, especially Germany and Holland.

Ruby was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pennamaquan Chp. #146. She was predeceased by her sister Laverne Olson Mahoney, sister Vivian in infancy, as well as her parents. She was predeceased by Wilfred, her husband of 56 years, in March of this year. She is survived by her daughter Sherrill and her husband Allan Harriman, stepdaughter Christy and husband Charles Halsted, grandson John and Lisa Harriman, grandaughter Angela Olson and DJ Hart, and very much loved great grandsons Matthew and Lucas Harriman. She will be sadly missed by her family and special friends Helga, Carol, and Nancy.

A memorial service and interment will be held in Lubec in the Spring of 2009.
