ST. ALBANS -- Beatrice E. Archer, 78, died
unexpectedly with her family at her bedside Sept. 7, 2006, at a
Pittsfield hospital.
She was born in Wilson's Beach, Campobello Island, New Brunswick,
Feb.11, 1928, the daughter of Harry E. and Elsie M. (Carter)
Brown. She was educated in schools on Campobello Island.
Beatrice was married to Lorrimar Archer for 53 years. He died in
1997. Beatrice was employed as a press operator at Edwards Co. in
Pittsfield for many years. She was an avid BEANO player and she
liked to knit and crochet for her family and friends. She was
well known for her baking skills, especially her breads and
molasses cookies.
She is survived by one son, Ross Archer of Newport, N.H.; one
daughter, Lorrine Neal of St. Albans; five sisters, Marie,
Dorothy, and Adrianne, all of Canada, Florence of Lubec, and
Hazel of Scarborough; seven grandchildren, Karena, Sandy, Lorie,
Larry, Brenda, Darice, and Zakri; and 13 great-grandchildren. She
will also be remembered by many special friends and family.
She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters, Clyde,
Harold, Freddie, Ralph, Harry, May, Julia, and Margie.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Brown
Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Graveside funeral services
will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Maloon Cemetery, St.
Albans, with Pastor Al Worden officiating.
