Base Gagetown Expropriation
Newspaper clippings about the
Expropriation of land, in Sunbury and Queens County, New Brunswick, for the
formation of the largest military base in the Commonwealth of Great Britain.
This event had a major impact
upon the lives of the families who had been residents of these land in Queens
and Sunbury Counties, for over a century and a quarter, as well as on all the
families that were displaced. Some families welcomed the move, while others had
a hard time adjusting. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of this event, a
special association has been formed to gather the history and genealogy of the
people effected.
