Wibaux Pioneer Gazette Obituary (Date of Death 19 Oct 1993)

Word was received this morning (Thursday) of the death of Willard Cale, who passed away at the Glendive hospital where he has been confined for the past six weeks.

Mr. Cale was taken to the Glendive hospital several weeks ago suffering from a ruptured appendix. His case was a very bad one, the doctors reported. But after the operation he seemed to give promise of recovery, but he suffered several relapses and finally succumbed to poison in his system.

Willard Ray Cale was born at Roselawn, Ind., in 1899 and was 34 years of age at the time of his demise. He came to Wibaux county with his parents when a young lad and grew up on the farm having attended the rural schools, until he took his place on the farm, where he has always resided. His wife preceded him in death on March the 31st of this year, leaving a young child about four years of age, who has been cared for by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cale.

He leaves a young son, his father and mother, Mrs. Rube Beeler, and Ethel Cale and two brothers, Fred Cale of Chicago, and Buster Cale, who is also confined at the Glendive Hospital. His body was brought here to the undertaking parlors Thursday noon. No arrangements at this time have been made for the funeral.

The funeral services for Willard Cale were held on Saturday last at the Methodist church. The service was conducted by Rev. Ponath, and were very impressive. Interment took place in the Wibaux cemetery, amidst many sorrowing relatives and friends. Buster Cale who left the hospital at Glendive to be present at the funeral left immediately after the funeral for Glendive to remain for further medical attention.
