Three excellent County History books have been written: Sheridan's Daybreak (1970), Sheridan's Daybreak II (1985) and Sheridan's Daybreak III (2005). This book was published in 2005 and is currently for sale through the Sheridan's Daybreak III Committee and the Sheridan County Daybreakers Genealogical Society. The first two history books are out of print and only available on the secondary market.

Plentywood celebrated its 100th birthday in 2012. A history of the community was published highlighting its history, businesses past and present, memories and much more. This book is entitled "PLENTYWOOD CENTENNIAL - OUR STORY TOLD. Celebrating a Century of Community 1912-2012."
