I have in my possession a document signed by then President of the United States Chester A. Arthur, 1881-1884, designating Reuben A. ALLEN, my gggreat grandfather, as Indian agent for the Blackfeet Indians of Montana. It appears that he stayed in Montana after his tenure as Indian agent 1984-86.   I know that he had a son in 1887 (Harry G. ALLEN), and that the son died in Jefferson City on June 14, 1890.  Reuben ALLEN also had a daughter (Nora) whose husband, Andrew STIRLING, died March 7, 1896 in Deer Lodge,   MT. A short note in the paper at that time indicated that Nora's father (Reuben) came over to be with her during her grief.  As to any other information you might be able to provide about any of the above (especially, Reuben),  it would be greatly appreciated. I still don't know where he died, only that it occurred in 1924.   Douglas Stirling WADE, 126 Arbor Drive, Eugene, Oregon 97404
