The pick-up truck which he had been driving burned. Mr. Feragen was born Oct. 7, 1916 at Carlyle, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Feragen. He grew up and received his schooling in Wibaux County. In 1942 he entered the Armed Services and was discharged in 1946. He was united in marriage to Emily Procive, April 9. 1947, at Glendive. Mr. Feragen farmed and ranched in the Carlyle area until his death. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge in Beach, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Survivors include one son, Daniel John Feragen of Carlyle, five brothers, Alvin and Jim, of Spokane: Lester of Victorville, Calif.; Victor of Ekalaka; and Ben of Carlyle; two sisters. Mrs. Martha Moore and Mrs. Ruby Hillier of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Baker with Rev. Don Gordineer officiating. Bea Jundt accompanied Ruth Wang, who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "How Great Thou Art." The Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker was in charge of arrangements. Burial with military rites was in the Carlyle cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernie Stark, Rich Knopp, Wayne Stark, Howard Still, Morris Douglas and Robert Lutts. Finch Murrill R. Finch, 68 years old of Baker, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 1972 at his home in Baker. Mr. Finch was born Feb. 15, 1904 at Redwood Falls, Minn. to Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Finch. He moved with his parents to Montana in 1910 where they homesteaded in the Fertile Prairie Community east of Baker. He married Eunice Abbott on Jan. 29, 1940 at Baker. Mr. Finch worked as a painter most of his life. He is survived by his wife Eunice of Helena, one son Murrill Ralph Finch of Helena, two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Heier of Glasgow, and Mrs. Helen Spitzer of Helena and seven grandchildren. Memorial services were held from the Stevenson Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Monday. Rev. Wayne Naylor officiated. Burial was in Bonnievale cemetery. The Stevenson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. May 31, at. his home in this city. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pollard at the Congregational church last Tuesday afternoon. Interment was at Bonnievale cemeterv. Robert Finlayson was born in Rossline, Scotland, on June 18, 1858, of Scotch Presbyterian parents. On Dec. 1, 1893, he was married to Miss Nellie Macree and to this union were born five children. Mr. Finlayson came to Canada with his family nine years ago and a year later took up a homestead in Fallon county, near Ekalaka. The first of last January he moved to Baker and took possession of the Fallon house. The deceased was a kind and affectionate husband and father. A wife, five children here in Baker and a brother and sister in Canada remain to mourn his loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community. Army July 1, 1962, and served in Germany until his discharge, March 31, 1964. He then returned to Golva to farm and ranch. He was united in marriage to Anna Litjens Oct. 26, 1973, at Deadwood, S.D. S.D. where he worked for the Midland. Inc. He was married to Alice Sadowscy in 1954 at New Hradec, N.D. and then moved to Miles City and later to Sidney and Harlowton, moving back to Miles City in 1965 and continued to live there since. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Church. Survivors include his wife Alice, one son Vaughn of the family home; three daughters, Nicole, Rhonda and Bernadette of the family home; three brothers, Francis and Henry of Minot; John of Flint, Mich.; three sisters, Mary Gregerson of Baker; Mrs. William (Helen) Pratt of Baker; and Mrs. Ernest (Joan) Newman of Minot. Advance brings the following obituary of Henry Fink, a former resident of Baker: At his home near Osakis, Minnesota, November 18th. 1920, occurred the death of Henry Fink after an illness of long duration death came as a relief to the weary sufferer. Henry Fink was born in Germany In 1843 and came to this country when about 12 years of age with his brother, Frederick Fink, who settled on Section 15 in Pickeral Lake township in 1866. When but a young man he entered the employ of C. M. Hewitt, then the leading merchant of Albert Lea where he remained for eight years and will be remembered as an obliging and efficient clerk by scores of Freeborn residents. He married for his first wife Miss Henrietta Lentz of Pickeral Lake township and to them were born five children, Ed Fink living In Cariston township. Manville, who died in young manhood at their farm two and a half miles northeast of town twelve years ago: Arthur, of Denver. Col, Victor, of Superior, Wis., and Zetta, now Mrs. A. W. Robinson of San Antonio, Texas. On October 19, 1890, several years after the death of Mrs. Fink. Mr. Fink married Miss Lydia Layman, to this union were born two children, Leo and Nora, who grew to young manhood and womanhood in Alden. Mr. Fink, entered into a partnership with Frank Booth in the drug and furniture business which extended over a period of seven years when he sold his interest to Peter Hemmingsen and purchased a fine farm two and one half miles northeast of Alden, which be improved and tilled successfully until five years ago when he decided a dryer climate would be beneficial to himself and family, he having developed asthma. He therefore sold his farm and located near Baker, Montana where he resided for three years when they moved to Osakis, this state, where they have, lived for the past two years. Henry Fink was a member of the Bear Lake Lutheran church and was a good father and husband and was respected by every community in which he lived. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church Sunday at 2 p. m, Rev. Rostrom delivered a comforting address and the choir sang the favorite old hymns appealing followed by Mrs. Beaty who sang "God Will Take Care of You" in her own sweet manner. Mrs. Flint was born Jan. 4, 1895, in Frankfort, Minn. to Fred and Elizabeth Kenyon. She grew up and received her schooling there. She moved with her parents to Terry, Montana in 1912, and was married to Rex Flint on Nov. 3, 1914 at Terry. They lived in Terry until 1932 when they moved to Baker where she has resided since. Rex Flint preceded her,in death Dec. 20, 1963. Mrs. Flint was a member of Charity Chapter of the O.E.S. in Baker. Survivors include two sons, George Flint of Lewistown, and Walter Flint of Baker; one sister Mrs. Lydia Wendorff of Elma, Washington, nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, one son Gene Flint and one daughter Celia Mae Grist. Funeral Services will be held Friday Jan. 4 at 11:00 a.m. from the Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, Rev. He was employed with Milwaukee Railroad there for ten years, after which he was engaged in ranching and farming. Survivors include his wife Rose of Marmarth, two daughters Mrs. George (Kathleen) Cook of Sturgis; Mrs. Richard (Linda) Salenick of Chicago; one son Daniel Flor of Marmarth; four brothers, Newton Flor. Baker; B. G. Flor, Miles City; Austin Flor, Billings; Dewey Flor, St. Petersburg, Florida; and one sister, Evelyn Culp of Seattle. One son Milan preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Thursday. July 31, at the Marmarth Village Church. The Rev. Charles Taft of Rhame officiated. Mrs. Adair Flatness furnished the music. Flor, 66 years old of Baker, died , Saturday morning, Sept. 27, at Fallon Memorial Hospital. , He was born October 17,1913 at LaCrosse, Wis.. the Son of Sigwart and Millie Flor. He grew up and attended schools in Marmarth. As a young man he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps, building roads in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. In 1935 he went to work for the Milwaukee, Railroad. On May 16,1942, he was united inmarriage to Doris A. Bock at Ekalaka. Two days later he was inducted into the.. U.S. Army, serving, in the European African Middle Eastern Theater during World War 11. After his discharge, Mr. Flor went back to work for the railroad, living in Marmarth until 1960 when they moved to Baker. He retired as section foreman in 1975 after 40 years of employment. After retirement he worked for the Fallon County fair Board and as a school bus driver until he suffered a stroke in February,. 1978. Mr. Flor was a member of the Baker American Legion Post No. 35 and the Miles City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1579 Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Baker; a son, Jim of the family home; two daughters, Susan. Wileken of Savage, and Merri Buerkle of Baker; one grandchild, Tara, of Savage; one sister, Evelyn Culp, of Seattle; three brothers, 'Dewey of Columbus, Ohio; Austin of Billings; and B. G. of Miles City. His parents, five brothers, and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Baker American Lutheran Church with , Rev. Mr. Flor was born Oct.23, 1907 at LaCross Wis.to Sigwart N. and Millie Flor. He moved with his parents to Marmarth in 1910. He grew up and received his schooling there. In 1926 he went to work for the Milwaukee Railroad and retired in 1942. Since that time he has farmed and ranched six miles west of Marmarth. Mr. Raymond Flor never married. Survivors are five brothers Dewy Flor of Lake Wales, Florida, Austin of Billings, Newton, of Baker, Giles of Miles City, and Frederick of Marmarth and one sister Mrs. Evelyn Culp of Seattle. Preceding him in death were three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held from the Stevenson Funeral Home January 18 with the Rev. Earl Barnard officiating. The oldest of nine children, she was born Sept. 6. 1885, at Murdock, Minn., to Jacob and Elizabeth Roget. She grew up and received her schooling there and worked as a seamstress. In 1909 she came to Montana and homesteaded 15 miles south of Baker. She worked as a cook for several years. She was united in marriage to Albert Fost March 5, 1914, at Miles City. They farmed his homestead at Willard until his death in 1969. She has made her home with her daughter since. The Fosts were very fond of fruit trees and raised many trees on their farm. She was a former 4-H leader and a former member of the Carter County Geological Society. Survivors are one son, Raymond Fost, and one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Marion) Hanson, both of Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Olga) Westrope of Miles City; Mrs. Hannah Hanson and Mrs. Lillie Sjelsted, both of Benson, Minn.; two brothers, Ole Roget of Kristsund, Norway, and Carl Roget of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister and one grandson. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 14, from the American Lutheran Church in Baker. Rev. At the time of his death he was self employed. Mr. Freier was a charter member of the Baker Bible Church in Baker, and was president of the Fallon County Christian Men's Fellowship. Rev. Dave Peterson officiated. Henry Fuch was born January 15, 1889 of German parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fuchs in Odessa, Russia. In 1909 he came with his parents to this country and settled in the Baker area where they took up farming. Soon after arriving in this country he took out citizenship papers. He was married to Katie Zimmerman November, 1913 and she died November 1915. On June 28, 1917 he married Pauline Grenz in Artas, South Dakota. In 1957 Mr. Fuchs retired from farming and moved to Baker where he lived up to the time of his death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baker and was also instrumental in organizing, the Baptist Church in Plevna Three sisters and four brothers have preceded him in death. He is survived by his widow Pauline Fuchs of Baker, two daughters, Mrs. Walter Huether Baker, Mrs. Robert Herrmann of Seattle, WA and by three sons, Harold Fuchs of Billings, Leo and Eugene of Gillette, Wyo., also 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
