Rodeo Queen

This site is in memory of my friend anddier01043 neighbor, while growing up on ranches out of Wyola, MT.

She was a kind, talented special person. Her name is Lucy Yellow Mule. She was elected by popular applause at the Sheridan Rodeo, Aug. 1950. She was the first Indian to become the Rodeo Queen. (this was before the Miss Indian America contest in Sheridan began.)

I will never forget that day, she came racing down the track in front of the grandstand.

Her beautiful black hair flying behind her, and the wonderful smile, stopped her horse, waved her hat the the audience went crazy clapping. It was wonderful. More soon
