John S. Strickland and Lydia Rebecca Ayers Family

 John S. Strickland was born abt. 1816, and married Lydia Rebecca Ayers abt. 1840 in Barbour Co., Alabama. John S. & Lydia had 10 children; Mary Aviann, Wm. Jasper, Elbert, Sarah Adaline, David, Matthew, John, George Washington, and Edward P. Strickland. John first showed up in the early tax record�s of 1841 � 1845 in Choctaw Co., living at Pigeon Roost, Miss., and later moved to Fame, Miss.! After many years at Fame, they moved near Greensboro, Webster Co., Miss.   John enlisted during the Civil War, with Co. B, 31�st Miss. Cav., and the Co. E, & H, 2�nd Miss. Cav.! He died June 16, 1900 in Greensboro, Webster Co., Miss., he was buried at Old Greensboro Cemetery, and has a confederate military marker! John S. and Lydia was reported dismissed from Greensboro Church abt. 1896, also including their daughter Adaline Strickland. They may have moved away from Greensboro, and later came back!   Several of their children lived all their lives in Webster Co., Miss.!

 Elbert & George Washington Strickland left Webster Co., and moved away. George Washington Strickland was buried at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Miss., Elbert Strickland also enlisted in Co. B, 31�st Miss. Regt. Infantry, and was buried at Biloxi, Harrison Co., Miss.! Elbert was laid to rest near the Jefferson Davis Home, in Biloxi! He married Sarah Elizabeth Watson, and they had 7 children! Most of them lived around Mt. Vernon, and Center area in Webster Co., Miss.    Mary Aviann {Ava Ann} Strickland married Alfred Garner Latham abt. 1863 in Choctaw Co., Miss., and they had 9 children, most of their children lived in surrounding area, and raised their families!  They were buried at Sapa Baptist Church Cemetery, at Sapa, Webster Co., Miss. David Strickland married Sarah Luvenia Spruill, and Kitty Summers. They were all buried at Old Field Cemetery, Walthall, Webster Co., Miss.! Matthew  married Missouri Nokes, and they were buried at New Ebenezer Church Cemetery, Eupora. They had 8 children!  Wm. Jasper was a preacher at Ebenezer Church, was buried there after his death. He married Missouri O. Peeples, they didn�t have any children.    John & George Washington both married Lamb girls.

 John married Mollie Lamb, George married Eliza Lamb. Both of their wives�s died very young, and were buried at Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery. John married a second time to Sarah Ann Hardy, the daughter of John Lemuel & Missouri �Bingham Hardy.  And they were buried at Clarkson Baptist Cemetery, at Clarkson, Webster Co., Miss.! Several of John & Sarah Ann �Hardy� Strickland children lived around Sapa, and Ticky Bend Community�s, and were buried at Clarkson Baptist Church!
