Lawrence Latham was born abt. 1790 in Randolph Co., North Carolina, his parent�s are unknown, but he is thought to possibly be related to James Latham from Randolph Co., N. C.! James had five son�s who moved from N. C., to Alabama. Lawrence married Mary Polly Smitherman abt. 1810 in North Carolina, and they had 14 children. Lawrence was living in Tipton Co., Tenn. On the 1830 Census. By 1840, they were living in Choctaw Co., Miss.! Lawrence lived there from 1840 � 1870, Polly died abt. 1853, near Walthall, Miss.! Lawrence married again to the widow Mary Elizabeth Randolph before 1860 in Choctaw Co., Miss.! Lawrence & Mary had five children. Polly �Smitherman� Latham was probably buried near Walthall, in Webster Co., Miss.! She was the daughter of William & Grace �Latham� Smitherman who lived in Bibb Co., Alabama. The children of Lawrence & Mary Polly �Smitherman� Latham were; Sarah Smitherman Latham born abt. 1812, died 1889 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. She married Eli Madison Cassell 1807 � 1865. Patsy Latham born abt. 1813, married Ibbin Carter. Nancy Latham born 1819, married Lewis Latham! Elizabeth Latham was born June 22, 1821, died Sept. 26, 1891 in Sabine Parish, Louisana, she married Elijah Latham, the son of Enoch & Nancy �Garner� Latham! Elijah was born Mar. 5, 1820, died Dec. 24, 1867 in Many, La.! Jesse Lawrence Latham was born Feb. 27, 1825, died Jan. 9, 1906 in Webster Co., Miss., buried at the Eupora City Cemetery, Eupora, Webster Co., Miss. He married Lucinda Elizabeth Cox 1834 � 1909, they had several children, who all was raised in Webster Co., Miss. Jesse Lawrence was the only known child of Lawrence to stay here in Webster Co., Miss.! Mary Jane Latham was born May 25, 1833, died Mar. 7, 1901 in Many, Sabine Parish, Louisiana, she married Alfred Lout. Joseph Marion Latham was born Dec. 24, 1831, died Dec. 11, 1895 in Many, Sabine Parish, Louisiana, he married Mary Elizabeth Chambers. Preston Latham born 1837, died as a infant, may have been buried with his mother in Walthall, Miss.! John Washington Latham born abt. 1837, General Latham born abt. 1837, William Monroe Latham was born Dec. 17, 1817, and died Sept. 9, 1885 in Leake Co., Miss. He married Henrietta Jackson. James William Latham born abt. 1834, married Elizabeth Lawhorn. The children of Lawrence & Mary Elizabeth �Randolph� Latham were ; Richard Howard Latham born July 5, 1853, died 1926 in Scott Co., Miss., he married Mary Willie Lawhorn, a sister to Elizabeth who married James William Latham! Henry Clay Latham was born Oct. 1, 1855, and died Nov. 13, 1927 in Scott Co., Miss. He married Martha Louisa Aycock May 4, 1884 in Scott Co., Miss. They had six children, who lived most of their lives in Scott Co., Miss.! Lawrence & Mary Elizabeth had three daughter�s also, but don�t recall their name�s! Lawrence Latham could have been a uncle to my Great, Great, Grandfather; James Lewis Latham! On the 1830 Census of Tipton Co., Tenn. There was Lawrence & Lewis Latham living there at that time. I think that this Lewis Latham may have been my James Lewis Latham.
