John Wesley Lamb

John Wesley Lamb, Jr. was born Jan 1830 in Jasper Co., GA. and married Sarah Ann Pharris on Jul 26, 1860 in Greensboro, Wester Co., MS.    John is the son of John Wesley Lamb, Sr. and Lucinda C. Digby; and grandson of Nicholas Lamb and Temperance (possibly Huffman). Nicholas, Temperance and 2 Cooper children are buried in the Lamb Family Graveyard near Grady. John served in the 31st Ms. Infantry, Co. E of Choctaw Co., MS. The 1880 Census finds John and Sarah in Sumner (now Webster Co.) with a wife, 6 sons, 2 daughters, and a sister-in-law living in his household.
On Oct 14, 1885, John was appointed to handle the distribution of money from sale of W. D. Segler's estate, as John Wesley's sister, Eliza, was wife of Washington D. Segler. John Wesley's family is enumerated on the 1890 Walthall School Precinct in Webster Co.  John Wesley Lamb, Jr. and wife, Sarah (Farris) Lamb are mentioned in the 1933 edition of the Webster Progress.
