Amos & Isaac Bartlett Burson

 

 

Amos & Isaac Bartlett Burson were brother’s, and the son’s of Joseph Jackson & Leah Burson. They were both born in Georgia, and settled in Choctaw & Calhoun Co., Mississippi abt. 1848 – 1850. Amos Burson was born Aug. 21, 1794 in Ga., and died Sept. 20, 1882 at Slate Springs, Calhoun Co., Ms. He married Sarah Neal Mar. 22, 1822 in Carroll Co., Ga. Sarah was born Feb. 11, 1794 in Ga., the daughter of John & Rachel “Burson” Neal. Sarah’s mother Rachel was a Aunt to Amos & Isaac Bartlett Burson! She was a sister of their father. Amos & Sarah “Neal” Burson had nine children, Sarah died abt. 1850 probably in Calhoun Co., Ms. After her death, Amos married Narcissa “Sprulin” Neal, the widow of Elbert Neal, he was a brother of Sarah “Neal” Burson. Amos & Narcissa had two son’s ; Thomas J. & Richard Augustus Burson! Isaac Bartlett Burson was born Feb. 4, 1808 in Ga., and died Aug. 10, 1884 in Webster Co., Ms. He married Jane Bowden Nov. 25, 1837 in Wilcox Co., Alabama, and they had seven children. Jane was born abt. 1810, and died Jan. 27, 1900. Isaac & Jane Burson were buried at North Union Cemetery, Bellefontaine, Webster Co., Ms. Amos & Narcissa were buried at the Burson Family Cemetery, east of Slate Springs, Ms. Near the Webster Co., Ms. Line. Amos & Sarah Burson children were; Green David Burson 1823, Miriam Burson born 1825, she married John Terrell. Lateen Crumby 1827, Milton Amos Burson born June 28, 1829, died Mar. 23, 1891 in Sunflower Co., Ms. He married Martha Spencer abt. 1854, they had 10 children. Epsie Burson born Mar. 15, 1831, died Mar. 9, 1864 in Choctaw Co., Ms.! She married John Montgomery Spencer, and had 5 children. Epsie was buried at the Spencer Cemetery, Montevista, Ms.! Mary Burson was born July 20, 1836, died Sept. 4, 1908 in Webster Co., Ms. Buried at North Union Cemetery, Bellefontaine, Ms. She married James Jefferson Adams. Nateen Burson born 1834, died 1855. Guin Neil Burson born 1837, and William A. Burson born 1841.

Isaac Bartlett & Jane “Bowden” Burson children were ; Richard Zeno Burson was born Nov. 12, 1837 in Wilcox Co., Alabama, he died June 22, 1862, during the Civil War. Leander Almira Burson was born abt. 1839, no other info. About her! Jonathan A. Burson was born June 22, 1842 in Alabama, and died Dec. 10, 1861. He was buried at North Union Cemetery, Bellefontaine, Ms.! Joseph B. Burson was born 1847, he married Susan Cannon, and they had 3 known children. Ellen Lateen Burson was born Feb. 12, 1851 in Ms., and died Dec. 6, 1923 in Webster Co., Ms. She married Charles Henry Pepper abt. 1872, and they had 4 children. Charles Henry Pepper was born Aug. 4, 1845, and died Dec. 11, 1884 in Webster Co., Ms. Charles Henry & Ellen Lateen “Burson” Pepper were buried at North Union Cemetery, Bellefontaine, Ms.! Arrena Isabell Burson was born abt. 1853, she married Jesse Nixon Jan. 2, 1878 in Sunflower Co., Ms.! Zeno Burson was born abt. 1855, no other info. Known about him. Amos & Narcissa “Spurlin” Neal Burson son was Richard Augustus Burson, he was born Jan. 20, 1852 in Calhoun Co., Ms., he died Oct. 5, 1921. Richard A. married Virginia Alice Davis Nov. 12, 1871 in Slate Springs, Calhoun Co., Ms. Virginia was born Sept. 29, 1854, and died Aug. 12, 1895. They had 4 known children; Mary, Pearl, Lena, and Willis Burson.
