What's a Look-up? The idea is the owners of printed material or those with access to various records, volunteer to look up a surname in the book or records they own or have access to. Unfortunately, this may not be fair to the author(s) of the books who have devoted a lot of time and energy to publish. It is NOT our desire to violate anyone's copyright, or deprive them of the means of making a profit from their endeavors. For this reason, USGenWeb has established the following policy on lookups: USGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Information given will be minimal, for example if it is a cemetery lookup, the information will be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone. Please do not ask for hardcopies to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not to comply with such requests. Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove useful, we can provide the authors address and ordering information. Having said that, please feel free to request a look-up directly from the following resources. Please limit your request to one name per request. Please put SUNFLOWER COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidentally deleted. In the first line of the message please put the name of the book from which you are requesting the lookup. |

The David Holmes Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution has recently finished and published "Records of Indianola City Cemetery, Indianola, MS burials June 14 1985 through Aug 6, 1997." I was on the committee for this publication and also have access to the previous book published in 1985 for burials prior to this book. So anyone looking for information on burials in Indianola City Cemetery may contact me. I have also recorded a family cemetery in Caile, MS (very southern Sunflower Cty) which I call the Miller Family Cemetery. Surnames are Miller, Sumerall, Wright, Smith and Pearce. The Historical Society of Sunflower County is working to record all Sunflower cemeteries. | Frances Williams
