WALNUT - Glen E. Young, 68, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at his home after a long illness. He was retired from the U. S. Navy. He served in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Liberty Hill Non-Denominational Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Luther Crum and Bro. Tim Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Young; two daughters, Therisea Austen of Walnut and Rebecca Davidson of Fulton; six sons, Charles Aldridge of Shannon, Mike Young of Aulander, N. C., Willie, Ashmore of Moses Lake, Wash., Richard Young of Dennis, Glen B. Young of Nettleton, and John Fikes of Little Rock, ,Ark.; two sisters, Barbara Benson of Becford, Iowa, and Helen Burres of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Jack Young of Hopkins, Mo.; 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Fletcher, and a son, Curtiss Aldridge.
Visitation will continue until 10 p.m. today and until service time Saturday.
GRACE YOUNG
Grace Young, 90, of Iuka, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Local survivors include a son, Jackie Wayne Young of Baldwyn.
Crystal hope Bates, 24, of Rienzi, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 21. Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.

MRS. IRENE YOUNG
Mrs. Irene Young, 64, of Route 4, Booneville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1985, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
Services were 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the First Pentecostal Church with Bro. Larry Hill and Bro. Jimmy Clyde Hicks officiating. Burial was in Sumners Chapel Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Young was a housewife and a member of the First' Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Erskine E. Young; five sons, Ellis Young of Romeoville,'Ill., Ervne Young; Jainbs Young, Jimmy Young and Durl Young, all of Booneville; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Chase of Booneville, Mrs. Dorothy McCoy of Lamont, Ill., and Mrs. Oleda Fair of Wheeler; three brothers, Tulon Reeves and Eugene Reeves, both of Booneville, and Hollis Reeves of Selmer, Tenn. ; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
JAMES L. YOUNG
James L. Young, 77, of Booneville, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
Services were Wednesday. July 31, at 2 p.m. at Wolf Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. L. A. Springfield officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Young was retired from Glen Smith Constriction Company after 38 years. His hobbies were fishing and hunting. He served as church treasurer and was a deacon at Wolf Creek Baptist Church and was concerned about the upkeep of the church and cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Young; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Dinnia Justice. James and Geniene Robinson and Robert and Debra Young; two daughters, Joann Norris and her husband, Ralph, and Annie Justice; two brothers, Herbert Young and his wife, Evelyn, of Obien, Tenn., and Robert Young of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters. Annie Miller, Hattie Williams and her husband, Glen, Fannie McGee, and Redie Bell Miller and her husband, R. J., all of Booneville; his aunt Beatrice Garner; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Crockett; a brother-in-law, Guy Robinson of Hamilton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grandsons and deacons of the church and Sherron Barron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Primuel and Lenora Young: brothers, Clyde Young and Charlie M. Young.
JAC T. YOUNG
CORINTH - Jac T. Young, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at Country Cottage. He was a retired professor of the arts at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia. He taught for 28 years, and started and developed the college's fine arts department. He received a master of fine arts degree from Tulane University in 1964 and a bachelor of fine arts degree from Memphis College of Art. A potter, his works have been shown in Memphis, Atlanta and Corinth in addition to NWMCC.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McPeters Chapel with friends delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Adrienne Y. Box and husband, Reid, and Martha Y. Kimbrough and husband, Bill, all of Corinth; two nieces, Diane Box Mathis of Corinth and Kim Kimbrough of Memphis; two great-nieces, Stephanie Mathis of Corinth and Lucie Mathis of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Edd Young and Lula Eaves Young, and a brother, Raymond James Young.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. today.
MRS. JOE YOUNG
Mrs. Joe Young, 80, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1984 following brief illness.
Services were Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the Gethsemane United Methodist Church‑with the Rev. Fred Dawson III officiating. Burial was in Houston.
Mrs. Young was the widow of Joe Young. She was a former resident of Booneville where she taught English, speech and journalism at Booneville Night School which was her first teaching assignment after receiving her degree from Mississippi State College for Women. In addition, she taught two years in the Baldwyn School and three years at Northeast Junior College. She left Booneville, after living here 31 years, to accept the position of Dean of Women at Texarkana College, Texarkana, Texas. She served in many offices in the Booneville Business and Professional Women's Club, including chairman of District 7. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a Sunday school teacher for many years at First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Church Board. After she retired, she moved to Houston, Texas, in 1963.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles D. (Josephine) Jones of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Morrison of Clinton; and one granddaughter, `Linda Gay Jones.
JOHN BELL YOUNG SR.
John Bell Young Sr., 76, of 211 Third St., Boonville, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1987, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital ventral In Memphis after an extended Illness.
Servers were Friday, Oct. 9, at McMillan Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Kemp officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.
Pall bearers were his immediate family, John Young Jr., Billy Joe Young, David Young, Andy Young, Dalton Garner, Dalton Guy Garner Jr. and Barry H. Flint. Honorary pall bearers were members of the Brotherhood Bible class of the First United Methodist Church; Hardware associates, Mellvin Putt, Clyde Gann; golfing partners, Marvin Smitherman, Guy Roberson, Herschel Stephens and Harmon Barron.
Mr. Young served as vice-president of Booneville Hardware from 1952 to 1960 and president from 1960 to 1976, at which time he retired.
He was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County and a member of the Booneville First United Methodist Church where he served in numerous capacities. He also served on the City School Board in the late 1950's.
Mr. Young was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Booneville Golf and Country Club where he served as a member of its Board of Directors at the time of organization. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Tays Young; one daughter, Mrs. Dalton Garner Sr. of Booneville; three sons, John Bell Young Jr. of Pontotoc. Billy Joe Young of Corinth and David Young of Booneville: 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In the passing of Joseph Edmund Young, 53, who died at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital Monday night, March 10, Booneville lost one of her best loved and- most honored citizens. He was only a few
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev, W. M. Jones, his pastor, Rev. J.I E. Long, Tupelo, and Rev. W. F L. Robinson, of New Albany.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marion Newman Young, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Jones, of Houston, Texas. He also leaves his father, Mr. Guy Young; and’ tour brothers, William, John Bell, Marion Elmer, of Booneville; and Frank, of Jackson, Tenn.
Mr. Young was outstanding’ for his life-long devotion to his church, which he served as a member of the Board of Ste wards for twenty years. He was always an energetic worker for worthwhile civic drives. Largely due to his efforts the Cancer Drive here led the nation one year.
He was a Mason, and a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and a veteran of World War II. He served two years.
He as a member of the Board of Aldermen. He attended Millsaps College.
Mr. Young was with the Booneville Hardware Company here, as bookkeeper, been connected with the firm since 1919. He made a. host of friends in his daily life and business dealings.
A man of firm convictions, and a true Christian gentle man, Joe Young’s presence among us will be greatly missed

Funeral services for Opal Claunch Young, 82, of Corinth were held Monday at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Minister Daniel Holloway officiating. Burial was in City Cemetery.
Ms. Young died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at Corinth Health and Rehab. She was a member of Meeks Street Church of Christ. She was retired from Magnolia Hosiery Mill where she was employed for 34 years. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed making pecan pies for her friends.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her father, Rufus Dewey Claunch; her mother, Beulah Mae Huff Claunch; two sisters, Grace Burnett and her husband, John, and Marguerite Duncan Rucker and her husband, Floyd; one brother-in-law, John C. Young; and three sisters-in-law, Weatha Springer and her husband, Vonley, Mary Lillian Firth and her husband, Reese and Katy Claunch.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Marcus "rate" Young of Corinth; one son, C. Max Young and his wife, Hilda, of Corinth; one granddaughter, Amy Young Hutson and her husband, LTC Donald Hutson, of Camp Zama, Japan; one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Hutson of Camp Zama; one brother, James D. Claunch and his wife, Claire, of Corinth; one brother-in-law, Almos "Pot" Young of Corinth; one sister-in-law, Vera Young and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were J. C. McCrary, Harry Steen, Sam Johnson, Joe Hardwick and Clarence Burleson.
Honorary pallbearer was Bill Beckham.
SCOTT YOUNG
DAVENPORT, FLA. – Scott Taylor Young, 49, formerly of Booneville, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2013, at his home after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 22, 1963, in Booneville to Norman Young and the late Genevieve Massey Young. He was a graduate of Booneville High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. Upon moving to Florida he worked at Orange Lake Resort and became a longtime Disney cast member at Walt Disney World.
He made the world a better place, bringing love and laughter to everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and went out of his way to help others. He loved spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle, watching the sunrise over the ocean and his cat, Bojing.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at McMillan Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A precious service was held in Orlando at First Baptist Church where he was a member.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Hernandez Young of Davenport, Fla.; his father, Norman Young of Booneville; two sisters, Becky (Donald) Harris of Booneville and Norma (Paul) Hamilton of Roswell, Ga.; and four nieces, Mandi Harris of Southaven, Kristen and Michelle Hamilton of Roswell, and Jennifer Hamilton of New York City.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his grandparents, Rid and Myrtle Massey, Lila Tays Young and Frank Young.

Funeral Services Held for Vera E. Young
Vera E. Young, 91, died Monday, July 12, 1999, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. A lifelong resident of Tishomingo County, she was born Oct. 20, 1907, to Arthur and Mary Lou Hopkins. She was a homemaker, a member of the Dennis Homemakers Club and a charter member of the Mt. Zion Baptists Church in Dennis. She enjoyed quilting and attending the Tishomingo Park Adult Day Care.
Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with the Rev. Hayden Taylor and the Rev. Earl Martin officiating. Burial was in the Lindsey Cemetery.

MRS. DWANE YOUNGBLOOD
Mrs. Dwane Youngblood, 64, nee Margarette Lewellen, died at her residence in Willow City. Texas, Monday, June 26, 2000.
Services were Wednesday, June 28, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Deacon Kenn Knepp officiating. Burial was in the Eckert Cemetery.
Mrs. Youngblood was born in Prentiss County on March 21, 1936, the daughter of Homer Lewellen and Iowa Thompson Lewellen. She married Dwane Youngblood on March 18, 1955, in Waxahachie and he survives.
Mrs. Youngblood, a vocational nurse, served as president of the Licensed Vocational Nurse Association of Texas for four years and was president of the local division for 10 years. She was a veteran Walkfest participant and fought for nursing legislation in Texas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Herman Youngblood and Joe Youngblood, both of Willow City, Texas, and Mark Youngblood and his wife, Angie, of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren; one great‑grandchild: two sisters, Georgia Thompson of Chicago, III., and Alline Lewellen of Wheeler; three brothers, Clarence Lewellen and Robert Lewellen and his wife, Mary, all of Wheeler and Charlie Daniel Lewellen of Southern Pine, N. C.; sisters‑in‑law, Willie Mae Engleke and Norma Jo Isbel, both of Leander; and a brother‑in‑law, Buster Youngblood of Leming.
Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Hospice, the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.

MARY FRANCES TAYLOR YOW
Mary Frances Taylor Yow, 88, of Iuka, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home.
Services were Thursday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Cecil Woodruff and Elder Clinton Barnett officiating. Burial was in Mackey's Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Yow attended the Primitive Baptist Church. She -was a homemaker and the widow of Zeb Yow. A native of Prentiss County, she was the last surviving child of Lee and Fanny Taylor. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and growing flowers.
She is survived by one son, George Yow, and his wife, Connie, of Iuka; two sisters-in-law, Clesta Taylor of Guntown and Myrtle Taylor of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Emily Frances and George Zachary Yow, both of Iuka.

BOONEVILLE - Margie Jeanette McVey Yuhasz, 47, died Sunday, May 24, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the West Booneville Church of Christ. She loved caring for her grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Hicks and Bro. Travis Shae officiating. Burial will be in the New Lebanon Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Petty and wife, Crystal, of Booneville, and Jonathan Calvery of Corinth; three grandchildren, Courtney and T.J. Petty of Booneville, and Dylan Calvery of Corinth; her mother, Mary Josephine McVey of Booneville; four sisters, Peggy Phillips and husband, Bobby, of Corinth, Bessie Brown, and Dale Sullins and husband, Ernie, all of Pontotoc, and Nita Russell and husband, Jimmy, of Bethany, La.; two brothers, Billy McVey and wife, Hilda, and Bob McVey, all of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Winters; her stepfather, Julius McVey; and a brother, Don McVey.
