RIPLEY - Annie Mae “Ann” 0'Kelley, 79, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Dec. 28, 1928, to Milton and Velma Moore Richardson. She was a member of Turners Chapel Baptist Church. She was a retired certified nurse's assistant at Rest Haven Nursing Home and a former employee of Blue Bell Manufacturing.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gerald Crabb and Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Criswell Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Janet Simpson (Tommy) and Debra Crabb (Gerald), both of Ripley, and Athen Garvin (Rick) of Sherman; two sons, Greg Stokes (Jan) of Tupelo and Jerry Stokes of Ripley; two sisters, Lou Jones of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Kathleen Smith of Ripley; one brother, Bobby Richardson of Ripley; eight grandchildren, Melissa Robertson, Kelli Goodman, Jennifer Kennedy, Kristi Duke, Nicole Taylor, Amy Pannell, Kim Hobson and Bo Stokes; and 19 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell 0’Kelley; one son,Terry Stokes; her parents, Milton and Velma Moore Richardson; one brother, Herman Richardson; and one grandson, Scott Childers.
Pallbearers will be Chris Pannell, Jerry Robert- son, Jody Kennedy, Chris Smith, Brad Taylor and Christopher Duke.
RAYMOND OAKES
Raymond Lee Oakes, 65, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003.
Services were held Monday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Meridian Idaho North Stake Center. Burial was in Morris Hill Cemetery. Relyea Funeral Chapel in Boise, Idaho was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Oakes was born in Boise, Idaho on October 23, 1937 to James Frederick Oakes and Arvey Clarissa Pruett. He was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two and a half year mission to the West Spanish American Mission. He also served as Scout Master, Ward Clerk, and in Branch Presidencies, Bishopric, Young Men's Program, High Council and Stake Presidency.
For 17 years he worked on six International jobs in Colombia S. A., Venezuela S. A., Philippines and Turkey. After retirement, he devoted his time to Family History research and Temple work. He and his wife, Doris, were serving as Service Missionaries at the Boise Institute of Religion at Boise State University.
Ray loved the All-Church Sports program and participated in every sport: basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and golf. He loved fishing, hunting and backpacking the Idaho mountains. He was also an avid reader.
Professionally, Ray was a CPA and worked as a Business Manager for international 'construction corporations. After graduating from Boise High and the University of Utah, he worked for Boise Cascade, Westgate California Corp., Albertson's, Idaho State Auditor's Office, Morrison-Knudsen, Atkinson Construction, and Dillingham Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; three children, Glenn, Roger and LeAnn; a son-in-law, Rafael Martinez; two brothers, Robert Oakes of Boise and Loren Oakes of Richland, WA; three sisters, Jessie Granum and Dorla Berger, both of Portland, Ore. And Sharon Newton of Kayesville, Utah; several nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James F. Oakes Jr.

DENNIS - Forrest Oaks, 72, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday at his residence. He was a retired farmer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Caston and the Rev. Jeff Cook officiating, Burial will be in the church cemetery with Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thelma J. Oaks, 75, died Friday, Jan. 20, 1984 at the Red Bay Hospital, She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dennis.
Services were Monday, Jan. 23, in the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in t Belmont, with Rev. John Stockton and Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Frances Henrietta Oakley, 77, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at her home in Booneville.
Services were Wednesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Oakley was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Prentiss County, the daughter of Henry H., and Annie Moore Yates. She was a retired school teacher. She was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Booneville.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances Green and her husband, Bud, of Booneville, Charlotte Whitehead and her husband, Ronald, of Ellisville, and Shirley Cole and her husband, Phillip, of Booneville; five grandchildren, Emily Tate Green, Russell White
head, Rebecca Tate Whitehead, Amy Cole Lothorp and her husband, Michael, and Molly Cole Michael and her husband, Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Anna Clair Lothorp and Michael Cole Lothorp.
She was preceded in death in 1979 by her husband of 32 years, L. H. "Tate" Oakley. Pallbearers were James Bethay, Norman Young, Ben Taylor Smith, W. S. Rutherford, Keith Shackelford and Boyd McGlaun.

Geo. W. Oakley Passes Away
The sudden death of George W. Oakley Tuesday afternoon at the home of his son, Plato Oakley, near Osborne brought sadness t to the many friends of this splendid citizen, His health had been failing for some time, but he had been up and about . Only a short time before death came, he began to complain 06d was carried into the room, but died within a few minutes.
Mr. Oakley passed his 80th birthday on 17 March and had been a lifelong citizen of the Blackland and Osborne communities. He was married in early life and raised a large family of splendid sons and daughters. His wife passed away over 20 years ago and since that time he had lived with his children.
He was an outstanding citizen and lived a quiet life, devoted to his family, his friends, and his community. He always stood for better things, and did his best to instill principles of right living into the lives of his children. He was a member of Wheeler Primitive Baptist Church and firmly believed in its teachings. No better citizen ever lived in Prentiss County than George W. Oakley. The writer has lost one of his best and truest friends. Knowing him for nearly 40 years with close social and business relations we found him ever ready to do his part, whenever called upon.
He is survived by five sons, Robert S., Thomas D., Claude and Plato of Wheeler and Osborne and Sidney R. of Senatobia and four daughters, Mrs. J. D. Gardner and Mrs. Runyan Grisham of Wheeler, Mrs. Ottis Spain of Corinth and Mrs. Murray Spain of Booneville and a host of other relatives. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Osborne and were in charge of his pastor Bro. W. O. Miller of Wheeler, assisted by Bro. J. D. Thompson of the Booneville Baptist Church, special music was furnished by the choir. The large church was crowded to its utmost capacity, being one of the largest crowds ever attending a funeral there.
At the conclusion of the services the body was laid to rest by the side of his beloved wife in the Osborne Cemetery. McPeters Morticians of Corinth were in charge.

Mrs. Lillian Daniel Oakley, 105, of Clinton, a Prentiss County native, died of heart failure Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1992, at her home.
Services were Friday. Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Stringer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Baker, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clinton, officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Oakley lived in Prentiss County until the age of 95 when she moved to Clinton. She and her husband operated the Oakley's General Merchandise Store in Wheeler until 1940. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Samuel Oakley: her son, George Oakley: and one daughter, Christine O. Wheeler.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Oakley Browning of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Rebekah Barber of Clinton, Mrs. Nancy Long of Hammond, La., Mrs. Gaye Calhoun of Oxford, George Samuel Oakley, Mary Jane Wheeler and Jimmy O. Wheeler, all of Booneville, and Robert F. Oakley of Louisville, 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

MELVIN C. OAKLEY
BOONEVILLE - Melvin C. Oakley, 76, died Wednesday, January 24, 1990, at the Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a retired salesman from Western Auto in Cleveland, Ohio, a World War II veteran and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Hankins and the Rev. Bubba Lollar officiating. Burial will he in the Booneville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine Mayo Oakley of Booneville.
Virginia Oakley, 82, of Highway 45 South, Booneville, died Saturday. March 14, 1992, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.
Services were Monday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.
Mrs. Oakley was the recipient of Prentiss County's Outstanding Citizen Award in 1989. She was the widow of George E. Oakley and a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville.
She was a retired school teacher and a retired employee of the State Welfare Department and Tennessee Valley Regional Housing Authority.
She is survived by a daughter, Gaye Calhoun of Oxford: two sons, George Samuel Oakley of Booneville and Bob Oakley of Louisville. Miss.: two brothers. Donald Franks and Harold Franks, both of Booneville: and seven grandchildren.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
THOMAS DEE OAKLEY
BOONEVILLE - Thomas Dee Oakley, 61, died Friday, June 13, 1997, at his home near Booneville following an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1936, in Wheeler to the late Thomas Dewitt Oakley and Jetty Pauline Rogers Oakley. He was a disabled veteran, having served for 10 years as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army and Navy. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an avid historian of the native American Indian tribes. He was a wildlife enthusiast, a conservationist and an environmentalist. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Lowery officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by Lindsay Harwood.
Survivors include his wife he married Oct. 20, 1970, Linda Roye Harwood Oakley; four daughters, Maggie Liles and her husband, Sean, and Katie Oakley, all of Booneville, Teri Law and her husband, James, of Americus, Ga., and Kim Gaida of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandchildren, Sam Law and Carson Law, both of Americus, Ga.; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Cora Lee Duncan, Sarah Frances Elder and Mamie Edna Miller; and one brother, Johnny Warren.

CORINTH - Dock Leonard Oaks, 74, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. He was a member of the First Church, where he was a board member and usher. He previously served as Sunday School superintendent at Calvary Pentecostal Church for more than 40 years. He was a retired employee of Tri State Electric. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening and nature. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a kind and gentle man who visited the sick, elderly and shut-ins, guided the lives of young people, and made a positive impact on everyone who knew him.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church with the Rev. Bobby Justice and the Rev. Nelson Hight officiating. The Rev. Barak Stafford will deliver the eulogy. Burial with military honors will be at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Milford L. Oaks, 77, of Mantachie, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.
Services were Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Oaks was retired U. A. W. and Daybrite employee and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Bramlett Oaks; one son, Wade Oaks and his wife, Sue, of Booneville; two sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of Belmont and Velvatine Elliott of Memphis; four grandchildren, Heather Matthews and her husband Print IV, Amanda Oaks, Matthew Oaks and Mark Oaks.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Grammer; and three brothers, Gordon, Wilford and James Oaks.
SHERMAN OATES
CORINTH - Sherman Ogden Oates, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at his home. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., he was born Jan. 18, 1926. He was an engineering graduate of Purdue University and did further study at the University of Michigan. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He came to Corinth at the age of 28 to supervise contruction of the Wurlitzer Piano Company, then went on to manage the company. In later years he became president of his own lumber brokerage business, Sher-Wood Inc. He was an active member of Oakland Baptist Church, where he was an active deacon and a Sunday school teacher for 48 years. He was a member of the Corinth Airport Board and a past member of the Kiwanis Club. He and his wife were involved for many years in a ministry called Heritage Home, which focused on strengthening Christian families. His far-reaching Christian tape ministry has touched innumerable lives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakland Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bostick officiating. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Edna Long Oates; his mother, Ruth Virginia Oates of Salem, Ind.; two daughters, Carole Virginia Lynch and husband, Larry, of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Janey Marie Lamphron and husband, Jim, of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren, Melissa Lynch Lewis and husband, Ken, Virginia Lynch Tilleros and husband, Steve, Rebecca Lamphron, Audrey Lamphorn Rickert and husband, Jeff, and Luke Lamphron; four great-grandchildren, Abigail and Simon Lewis, and Samuel and Lucas Tilleros.

IUKA - Lettie Floyd O'Bryant, 88, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. She was a member of the Iuka Baptist Church and was retired from Genesco Shoe Factory. She was the widow of Thomas Leroy O'Bryant. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the South Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Jim Holcomb officiating. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Grimm of Collierville, Tenn., and Martha Thweatt and husband, Charles, of Ramer, Tenn.; two brothers, J. C. Rites Held Wed. For Mrs. Alice Nora Odle
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Nora Odle of Route 3 Rienzi, were conducted Wednesday afternoon a Antioch No. 2 Church with Bro Ellis Eaton and Bro. Lester Spencer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.
Mrs. Odle passed away Monday at, her home following an illness of six months. She was a native of Alcorn County, a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and 76 years of age.
She leaves five sons, James Odle and Melvin Odle of Rienzi, Lester Odle and Charlie Odle of Cicero, Ill., and Hilley Odle of West Ridge, Ark.; three daughters, Mrs. J. R. Killough of Cicero, Ill. Mrs. Grady Mask of Corinth and Mrs. Sam Stewart of Kizer, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Emma Odle of Corinth; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Marie Bennett Odom, 72, of Horn Lake, Miss., died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1984, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis following a brief illness.
Services were Friday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Jimmy Curtiss officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery. Mrs. Odom was the widow of W. H. Odom. She was a housewife and a Methodist.
She is survived by a son, Milford Odom of Memphis; two brothers, Clarence Bennett and Carlton Bennett, both of Booneville; three sisters, Mrs. Allie Bennett Shields, Mrs. Rosie Bennett Vandevander and Mrs. Dewdrop Bennett Shields, all of Booneville; and one grandchild.
McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
OLLIE FAY ODOM
BOONEVILLE - Ollie Fay Odom, 71, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at her home. She was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Tippah County to Luthel and Elminea Swimford Lakey. She was a member of the Booneville Church of God. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and sitting on the porch watching cars drive by.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wilford Knight officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Charley Odom and Wayne Odom, both of Booneville, and Carl Odom of Lincoln, Ala.; five daughters, Mary King of Winchester, Tenn., Barbara Boren of Corinth, Ruby Spencer and Nancy Ralph, both of Booneville, and Wanda Hancock of Michic, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Louise Mallard of Texas; two stepsons, James Odom and J. W. Odom, both of Texas; one brother, Charley Lakey of New Albany; one sister, Bernice Bradock of Rienzi; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Alvie Odom, who died June 16, 1995.
Pallbearers will be Roy McCaig, Edward Posey, Jimmy Short, Richard Asher, Gary Brooks and Charles Brown.
Visitation will continue from 7 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

TISHOMINGO - Lawrence H. Offutt Jr., 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the Upper Chesapeake Health Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was a retired master electrician.
Services were held in Baltimore, Md., Saturday. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 1, at the Tishomingo Cemetery with Jeff Martin officiating. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Veatress Kennedy Offutt of Baldwin, Md., formerly of Tishomingo; one brother-in-law, Dwight Kennedy of Tishomingo; one sister-in-law, Clara Jane Black of Tishomingo; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Mary R. Burmingham Blake, Gladys H. Mullin and Helen M. Brown.
Pallbearers will be Charles Black, Paul Whitlock, Anthony Stone, Kirby McRae, James Cosby and Gary Walker.

MILDRED OGLE
CORINTH - Mildred Ogle, 86, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home. She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in McNairy County, Tenn., to the late Hobert and May C. Tucker. She lived in Memphis for many years, moving to Corinth five years ago. She retired from Medical Mill Supply Co. in Memphis. She was a member of Foote Street Church of Christ.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with Bro. Charles Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.
Survivors include three brothers, John Tucker and George Tucker of Corinth, and Evertte Tucker of Memphis; two sisters, Marie Barnes of Corinth and Elsie Donelson of Sweetwater, Texas; a granddaughter, Leisa Carol Jones and her husband, Chris, of Ringgold, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Bailey and Ty Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ogle; a daughter, Carol Ann Hise; her parents; and a brother, Neal Tucker.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Roberta Louise O'Leary, 69, of Corinth, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at The Med.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, July 18, at 4 p.m. at Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Cleveland and the Rev. Jason Plezzerer officiating.
Mrs. O'Leary was born in Watertown, Mass., to Alford and Ada Bythwood Pearce on Oct. 19, 1931. She was a retired business manager with a medical office. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. She was the widow of William John O'Leary Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ada Jordan of Worchester, Mass.; a son, William John O'Leary of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Robin Holland and her husband, Bill, of Booneville; a sister, Jo Ann Beasley of Rye, N. H.; a half-sister, Frances Jordan of New Hampshire; and eight grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Earline Burcham Mock of Iuka; a daughter, Amy Harrison and her husband, Johnny, of Eupora; two sons, Brian Mock of Drew and Johnny Paul Mock and his wife, Leann of Corinth; a brother, James Johnson of Cairo; five grandchildren, Danielle Mock, Marcus Mock, Summer Mock, Logan Harrison and Madison Harrison.

DRY CREEK - Flora Curtis "Curt" Olive, 97, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. She was born March 23, 1908, in Marion County, Ala., to the late W.J. "Bill" and Olivena Horton Holmes. She was a homemaker and the widow of B.R. Olive. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Crawford of Nashville and Vera Ford of Dry Creek; a sister, Amanda Payne of Dry Creek; five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant daughters, her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.

FRANCIS LAMAR OLIVE
BOONEVILLE - Francis Lamar Olive, 75, died Friday, August 23, 1991, at his home after a brief illness. He was a retired employee of the VA Hospital, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Booneville Church of Christ.
Services will he at 1 p.m. today at the Salts Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister J. A. Thornton and Minister Jimmy Olive officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Olive of Booneville; two sons, Jimmy Olive of Nashville, Tenn. and Tommy Olive of Texas City. Texas: one sister. Maxine Graham of Columbus: four grandchildren.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
JAMES L. OLIVE
James L. Olive was among the oldest citizens of the county, being around 90 years of age. He had lived in the Eastern part of Tippah County and the Western part of Prentiss County for many years and had always been a good citizen. A few months ago he and his wife gave up housekeeping and went to live with Mr. & Mrs. J. R. Hill near Pisgah. On 27 December 1934, the good wife was called to the other world and Mr. Olive left alone, after more than 60 years of married life. He had a stroke a few days before his death on 24 April 1935. Their bodies are resting side by side in the Cemetery at Oak Hill. Funeral Services for each were held by Elder E. W. Shackelford of the Primitive Baptist Church.
This splendid couple had ten children, 4 sons and 6 daughters born to them. Most of these children are living with families of their own. To these children a priceless legacy was left in lives well spent.
Mr. Olive joined the Confederate Army at About 18 years of age and saw hard service. Returning from the army he took up the struggle as a good citizen and did his part to reestablish our Southern country. He always stood for right and for clean living and made many friends.
The Independent extends its deepest sympathy to sorrowing Sons and Daughters on the passing of their beloved Parents.
Note: James Lazarus served in the 9th Tenn. Reg. during the Civil War.

Hancle R. Olive, 69, of Memphis, died Saturday, Sept. 28.
Services were Monday, Sept. 30, at Forrest Hill Funeral Home with burial :in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis.
Mr. Olive was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hessie L. Olive.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Johnson and Mrs. Linda F. Rowland, both of Memphis; and a step-son, William Wayne Clayborne; two :brothers, Lawrence R. Olive of Booneville and Thomas Olive of Wheeler; and three grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Lela Cummings Olive, 89, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Nashville. She was a former resident of Booneville before moving to Nashville with her son. She began teaching at East Prentiss in 1930 and taught at Pisgah, Rienzi and New Site schools. She retired from teaching in 1972. Before moving to Nashville, she was an active member of the Booneville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis L. Olive, on Aug. 23, 1991.

Lela C. Olive, 89, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at the Jackson Park Christian Home in Nashville, Tenn.
Services were held Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at Salts Funeral Home with Jim Olive and J. A. Thornton officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Phillips-Robins Funeral Home in Nashville was also in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Olive was born Dec. 22, 1910, on the Canoe Branch of the Buffalo River near Hat Woods, Tenn. She began teaching at Fast Prentiss in 1930 and retired from teaching at New Site in 1972. She taught at Pisgah, Thrasher and Rienzi during the years between 1930 and 1972.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Washington Cummings and Violet Phillips Cummings; her husband, Francis L. Olive; and brothers, J. Lewis, Clarence a and Edward Cummings; and two sisters, Beulah Michael and Lulu Rinehart; and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her sister. Lorene McGee; two sons, John T. Olive and his wife, Shirley, of Zavella, Texas and Jim Olive and his wife, Beth, of Nashville, Tenn.; and by her grandchildren, Joey Olive and his wife, Teresa, of Olive Branch, Dave Olive and his wife, Angie, of Booneville, Jay Olive and his wife, Sara, of Wylie, Texas, and Beth Ann Stockton and her husband, Jason, of Clarksville, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren.

Minnie Beaulah Olive, 59, of Ripley, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Funeral services were held Saturday 27. Burial was in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Prentiss County.
Local survivors include a daughter, Geraldine Page of Booneville.
NATHANIEL OLIVE
BOONEVILLE - Nathaniel Bedford Olive, 82, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. He was the son of the late James N. Olive and Connie Lucille Chisholm Olive. He was a member of the West Booneville Church of Christ. He was retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of staff sergeant. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He enjoyed and loved his family, especially his grandchildren, working in the yard, fishing and life as a whole.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Prentiss County Funeral Home with Bro. Ward Hogland and Bro. Johnny Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Louise Olive of Booneville; a daughter, Rhonda Downs and husband, Dr. Larry Downs, of Booneville; two sons, James Olive and wife, Lesia, of Booneville, and Nickey Olive and wife, Fran, of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Amy and Alex Downs, and Nathan and Anglie Olive; a great-grandchild, Jessie; a sister, Anne Lindsey and husband, Jack, of Baldwyn.

James T. Oliver, 73, formerly of Booneville, died, Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Glenshire Nursing Home in Richton Park, Ill.
Services were Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church with Willie A. Davis Sr. officiating. Burial was in Burns Cemetery. Westbrooks Funeral Home of Aberdeen was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Oliver was a skilled, self-employed craftsman and a Baptist.
He is survived by a sister, Marie Oliver of Chicago Heights, Ill.; an uncle, Spence Nichols of Amory; two aunts, Ella Mae Howell of Champaign, Ill., and Gladys Nichols of Detroit, Mich.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melinda E. " Emma" Oliver, 80 of Sheffield, AL, died Saturday December 18, 1999 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home, Muscle Shoals, AL. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie L. Oliver.

William E. "Junior" Oliver, 64, Russellville, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001.
Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today V' Bethlehem Baptist Church, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Willard Saint will be officiating. A eulogy will be given by Buddy Rogers.
He was born Oct 26, 1936, and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. He was self-employed and operated Junior's Garage for more than 40 years. His hard work, loyalty and dedication to his family and friends always will be remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Betty. J. Oliver, Russellville; daughter, Lisa, Massey and husband, Greg, Russellville; two sons, Phillip Oliver an his partner, Michael Scott, Florence; Lynn "Lynburg" Oliver, Russellville; his mother, Lois E. Oliver, Russellville; one sister, Jeana Wells, Orlando, Fla., three brothers, Silas M. Oliver, Russellville, Paul B. Oliver, Tuscumbia, David L Oliver, Phil Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.

GOLDEN - Janie Inez O'Neal, 85, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004 at her daughter's home in Marietta.
She was a native of Mississippi and a factory worker for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Henry O'Neal; a son, J. D. O'Neal; a stepdaughter, Mildred Beavers; a stepson, Emmette O'Neal; and four sisters and four brothers.

BELMONT - John Ornsbey, 74, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Carrington House in Iuka. He was a native of Mississippi. He was the manager of Halsen Products Co. in Belmont and a U. S. Army veteran. He was a lifelong member of the National Republican Party and also a member of the Tishomingo Republican Party.
Services will be at 9 a.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Billy Adams officiating. Burial will be in Ebeneezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Kosciusko.

BURNSVILLE - Frankie Osborn, 52, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was paralyzed for 37 years but lived life to the fullest. He loved NASCAR, fishing, hunting and playing pool.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen with Bro. Allen Osborn officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

DENNIS - Hollis E. Oswalt, 73, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born March 5, 1931, in Itawamba County. After serving for 20 years as a medic in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era he retired as a Master Sergeant. He was associated with the Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Oswalt; his father- and mother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Calvin L. Fuller; and one brother-in-law, N. R. Rouse.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Blaylock and her husband, John, of Southaven; a sister, Lorene Crawford and her husband, Howard, of Baldwyn; a granddaughter, Shanda Jackson, and her fiance, Kevin Montgomery, of Memphis; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Owen; her parents, Dalton Bullock and Bithie Davis Bullock; and two brothers, Fred O. Bullock and Oliver Bradley Bullock.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

TUPELO - James Lesley Owen, 63, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Mayfield congregation in Saltillo. He was a QS9000 administrator at Structure Fibers in Saltillo. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors in Corinth with Minister G.W. Childs officiating. Burial will be in Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Shirley Kiddy Owen of Tupelo; his mother, Beatrice Lou Hampton Owen of Tupelo; three daughters, Leslie Karen Marlar and husband, Lt. C. Jason Marlar of Corinth, Jennifer Lynn Coleman and husband, David, of Northport, Ala., and Courtney Leigh Vines and husband, John, of Tupelo; a brother, Jim Owen and wife, Marsha, of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Blake and Zach Marlar of Corinth, and Jase and Gency Coleman of Northport, Ala.; two nephews, Curt Owen and Brad Owen, both of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Clyde Owen; his grandparents, Archie H. and Julia Ann Vanderford Owen, and W. Cleo and Mary Effie Stricklin Hampton.
Pallbearers will be Curt Owen, Brad Owen, Harold Fowler, Jonathan Kiddy, Wesley Kiddy and Heath Seawright.

EAST GLACIER PARK VILLAGE, Mont. - Barry McDowell Owens, 49, formerly of Jumpertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls, Montana. He was born in Prentiss County to the late Kermit and Mavis McDowell Owens. He was a commissioned officer with the U. S. Public Health Service, an Air Force veteran, a former member of the Army National Guard and the Navy Reserves.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Crossroads Cemetery in Jumpertown with Bro. Terry Teddlie officiating. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Katie McCoy Owens of East Glacier Park Village, Mont.; two daughters, Terri Michelle McVey of Jackson, Miss., and Jessi Marie Owens of Jumpertown; one son, Bradley McDowell Owens and his wife, Kimberly, of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Janice Brown and her husband, Gary, of Savannah, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jordan Reed McVey and Braeden McDowell Owens; a nephew, Jonathan Brown and his wife, Allison.

DELYNN OWENS
IUKA - Delynn Owens, 69, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at the Iuka Hospital. He was born May 27, 1933, to the late James and Edna Pace Owens. He was a Christian and a member of the Iuka Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a former employee of the Tishomingo County Electric Power Association and a retired member of IBEW Local 852 in Corinth. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Iuka Baptist Church with Elder Darren Owens and Bro. Jerry Michael Williams officiating. Burail will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Juanita O. Owens; a son, Keith Owens and wife, Helen, of Warren, Texas; a daughter, Debbie Arnold and husband, Randy, of Iuka; a brother, D. L. Owens of Fulton; four sisters, Eloise Miller of Fulton, Lynn Webb of Colorado, Opelean Duckworth of Red Bay, Ala., and Tupel Duvall of Rienzi; four grandchildren, Carey Hardwick of Phoenix, Ariz., Devin Owens of Warren, Texas, and Cody and Lana Arnold of Iuka.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Troy, Allen and Argle Owens.
Pallbearers will be Billy Skinner, Will McIntosh, Hugh Van Presley, Gene Crane, Edmund Puckett and Rick Owens.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Couples III Sunday School Class, Jim Robinson, Steve Turbeville and Robert Allen Wright.

BOONEVILLE - Dorothy "Dot" Sappington Owens, 67, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was a retired payroll clerk for Brown Shoe Company and a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kara Blackard and the Rev. Ray Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Sumners Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Earl G. Owens; a daughter, Darlene Sappington Stell and her husband, Ealon, of Booneville; a stepdaughter, Judy Moore and her husband, Bill, of Booneville; two stepsons, Jimmy Owens, and Johnny Owens and his wife, Glenda, all of Booneville; a sister, Doris Hanson of Melissa, Texas; three granddaughters, Amber Lancaster, and Rhiannon and Ehlana Stell; six stepgrandchildren, Chrystal Moore, Jeremy Owens, Tim Owens, Brandon Harrison, Robert Depew and Kristina Mason; one niece; two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Speck and Odie Lee Sanders; a son, Timothy Sappington; and two grandchildren, Michelle Lancaster and William "Zeb" Stell.

BOONEVILLE - Elizabeth Mae Owens, 64, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. She was a former employee of Blue Bell Industries and a member of the Baldwyn Church of God.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Marvin Henry will officiate, and her son-in-law, Eddie Shook, will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Lottie Shook and husband, Eddie, Barbara Hutcheson and husband, Stanley, Lesa Franks and husband, Terry, and Tammie Pitts, all of Booneville; two sons, Terry Owens and wife, Sheila, and Tommy Owens, all of Booneville; two sisters, Jane Thomason and husband, Dwight, of Booneville, and Maudie Smith of South Carolina; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Bill Owens; her mother, Ethel Davis; her stepfather, Jack Davis; her father, Herman Leonard; two brothers, Leon Leonard and Jimmy Davis; and a sister, Vivian Kelley.

CORINTH - The Rev. Robert Lee Owens Sr., 70, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a graduate of Eason High School. He was a member of the Springhill M. B. Association, an instructor at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary and vice president of the General Progressive State Convention. He was a former pastor of Little Zion M. B. Church, East Fifth Street M. B. Church and Macedonia M. B. Church. He was retired from Coca Cola of Corinth.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia M. B. Church with the Rev. David High officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Frances Alexander Owens of Corinth; two sons, the Rev. Houston Owens of Corinth, and Robert Owens Jr. and wife, Jacquelyn, of Laurel; a daughter, Mildred Wallace of Corinth; three brothers, George Owens of Jacksonville, Fla., James Rubin Owens of Champaign, Ill., and John Owens and wife, Earnestine, of Corinth; a sister, Georgia Keith and husband, Vasco, of Corinth; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Owens; a son, Timothy Lee Owens; a daughter, Birdie Lee Owens; and his wife, Sarah Lee Alexander Owens.

MARIETTA - Thelma Gean Reece Owens, 63, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a sudden illness. She was a homemaker and a member of East Marietta Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Williams and Bro. Dewayne Morgan officiating. Burial will be in East Marietta Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Ethel Stone Reece of Marietta; a daughter, Tammy Cox and husband, Tim, of Booneville; a son, Wayne Owens and wife, Sheila, of Booneville; a sister, Sue Tennison and husband, Dude, of Marietta; two brothers, Leonard Reece and wife, Betty, and Tommy Reece and wife, Shirley, all of Marietta; five grandchildren, Matthew Cox and wife, Jennie, Mark Cox, Evan Cox, Kevin Owens and Jeremy Owens; a special grandchild, Destiny Duckworth; three great-grandchildren, Camron, Bryson and Drew Cox.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L. W. Owens, in 2002, and her father, Burt Reece.
