CORINTH - Laverne G. Follin died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born in Alcorn County to the late Joe and Mrytle Gammill. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church. She enjoyed her kids and grandkids.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lone Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Smiley Mills officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Follin of Corinth; three daughters, Wanda Settlemires and her husband, Phillip, of Walnut, Eva Dunn and her husband, Donnie, of Corinth, and Janet Inman and her husband, Larry, of Selmer, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Inman, Kevin Inman, Shae Martin, Lorie White, Clay Settlemires, Mike Dunn and Trace Dunn; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Brook Martin, Kerissa Beth martin, Serra Kate Hinton and Brody White.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time on Tuesday at the church.

GUNTOWN - Charles Gregory Fondren, 64, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis. He was self-employed. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of Camp Creek Church. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Wayne Fredrick officiating. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include his mother, Blufie Fondren of Guntown; three sons, Greg Fondren and Tracy "Moose" Fondren of Guntown, and Chad Fondren of Blue Springs; a daughter, Shae Franks of Mantachie; grandchildren, Michael Fondren, Chelsea Fondren, Hailey Fondren, Landon Franks and Payden Franks; two sisters, Dianne Hood and husband, Larry, and Carol Dickey, all of Guntown; a host of nieces and nephews.

BALDWYN - Daniel Taylor Fonseca, 6, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at his home after an extended illness. He was a Baptist.

            BIRMINGHAM ‑ Sam Fonte, 50, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born Aug. 1949. He was a former resident of Grenada. He was a staff analyst for Electronics Data Systems.

            Services will be at 10 a .m. Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Grenada with the Rev. Meyrl Schmit officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.

AVON FOOTE

IUKA - Avon Ruble Foote, 91, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at his home. He was born March 23, 1913, in Tishomingo County to the late John Dean and Beulah Robinson Foote. He was a member of the Iuka Baptist Church. He retired in 1978 almost 40 years after becoming a U.S. Postal Service employee. During World War II he was an iron worker in the construction of TVA dams and the Columbus Air Force Base.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Kim Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

GENE FOOTE SR.

IUKA - C.E. "Gene" Foote Sr., 85, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at the Iuka Hospital. He was a member of the Iuka Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by Foote and Ramsey Trucking Co. for over 40 years and was also employed as a custodian at the Iuka Elementary School for a number of years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. C. I. Puckett officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eloise Ramsey Foote of Iuka; one son, C.E. Foote Jr. of Jackson; several half-brothers and half-sister; one grandchild, Alison Townsend of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ras Foote.

BOONEVILLE - Cecile Marie Guin Ford, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1997, at the Booneville Baptist Hospital after a long illness. She was a factory worker and a member of East Booneville Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Preston Ford; one daughter and son-in-law, Laverne and Randel Huguley of Saltillo; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Ford of Wheeler; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

BALDWYN - Deborah Morris Ford, 49, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was a member of the Wheeler Methodist Church and a Licensed Practical Nurse for 10 years before becoming disabled.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial will be in the Jumpertown Cemetery.

Donald R. Ford, 54, of Booneville, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at his home after a brief illness.            Services will be Thursday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at McMillian Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Mr. Ford was a die maker for Eaton Paperboard Converter, a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, R. C. Ford and Sybil Ford.

He is survived by one son, Jason Ford and wife Amy of Winston-Salem, N. C.;   two sisters Bettie Eaton, Cathie Pitts, and husband Bobby, all of Booneville and special friends, Robert and Diane Hunkapillar.

DRY CREEK -- Gaston Ford, 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. He was a retired farmer, and a member and deacon of Concord Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Walker officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Vera Olive Ford; two sons, Jackie Ford and his wife, Sandra, of New Albany, and Ricky Ford and his wife, LuAnne, of Booneville; a sister, Erma Prather of Booneville; a brother, Randolph Ford of Wiggins; seven grandchildren, Mark, Aaron, Lauren, Daniel, Suzanne, Ben and John Peter Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Evelena Huddleston Ford; two sisters, Lou Etta Bryant and Mae Bradford; and two brothers, Jessie and Troy Ford.

BOONEVILLE - Lawrence D. Ford Jr., 62, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1996, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. He was disabled and a Baptist.

Linda Kay Coles Ford, 57, of Corinth, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Services were Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Bro. Frank Wilson officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Iuka.

Mrs. Ford was a homemaker and a former employee in housekeeping for Magnolia Regional Health Center. She attended Burnsville Tabernacle.

She is survived by a son, Wayne Redwine and his wife, Poppy, of Corinth; two sisters, Bonnie M. Burdett and her husband, Jim, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Barbara A. Crowell and her husband, Ellis, of Booneville; two grandchildren, Luke and Nickolas Redwine of Corinth; nephews, Bobby Fales of St. Augustine, Fla., Jimmy Burdett of Orlando, Fla., Duane Douglass and his wife, Debbie of West Virginia; and Christopher Richardson of Booneville; nieces, Lori Cox and her husband, Terry, of Corinth, and Dawn Burdett of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Vernon Coles and Hazel J. Coles and a brother, William E. Coles.

A funeral for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ford, 96, Shoals Nursing Home, was at 4 p.m. Thursday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel, Booneville, Miss. Burial was in Liberty Church Cemetery at Booneville.

She died Tuesday at Shoals Nursing Home. She was a native of Prentiss County, Miss., and a lifelong member of the Liberty United Methodist Church there.

Surviving are sons, Robert C. Ford, Muscle Shoals, Zack

M. Ford, Victoria, Ark.; daughter, Miss Louise Ford, Jackson, Miss., sister, Mrs. Ila Kaiser, Biggersville, Miss.; two grandchildren; five great- grandchild and one great-great grandchild.

OPAL GREEN DEATON FORD

Opal Green Deaton Ford, 79, of Marietta, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1095, at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth after an extended illness.

Services were Tuesday Feb. 7, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Brown officiating. Burial was in Zion Rest Cemetery.

Mrs. Ford was owner and operator of Opals Flower Shop in Marietta for several years and an employee of Brown Shoe Co., and a member of Zion Rest Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Moreland of Marietta and Peg Williams of Gainesville, Fla., one sister. Hazel Brown of Booneville: three grandchildren, Vicki Gray, Andy Moreland and Shawn Simmons, all of Marietta; five great-grandchildren, Kim Gray, Logan Gray, Matthew Moreland, Jessica Moreland and Kelsey Simmons all of Marietta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben H. Deaton: her parents, Jim and Ethel Green; and her brother. Ferrell Halley Green.

BOONEVILLE - Preston Ford, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at his daughter's home in Saltillo after a brief illness. He was a farmer and", enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the East Booneville Baptist Church. He was the widower of Cecil Marie Ford who passed away Aug. 19, 1997.

BOONEVILLE — Sybil Gann Ford, 71, died Friday, July 1, 1994, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was a life long resident of Prentiss County and a retired employee of Blue Bell Manufacturing, with 20 years of service. She was a member of the East Booneville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Gann. She was preceded in death by her brother. Gene Gann.

Survivors include her husband, R. C. BOONEVILLE - Taft Lamar Ford, 87, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1997, at the Longwood Manor Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 12, 1909, near Burnsville to Austin Phillip and Ida Ford. He was a retired, self-employed construction contractor and builder. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Methodist church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Salts Funeral Home in Booneville with the Rev. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery in Corinth.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Billie Lambert, and her husband, Mayor Wade Lambert, of Booneville; one stepson, Fred Mason, and his wife, Eva, of Rienzi; two sisters, Louise Pierce of Corinth and Peggy Ray and her husband, James, of Jacksonville, Fla.; three nieces, two nephews, four step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Robert L. Ford, in July 1997.

TOM J. FORD

Aug 1940

Tom J. Ford died at his home a few miles east of Booneville Sunday following a stroke of several days ago.

Mr. Ford was about 60 years of age and was an outstanding citizen, who, always took a keen interest in affairs for the pro­motion of the better interests of his county and community. He was a member of the Meth­odist church and did his part in its work. He was honorable in his dealings and always ready to help those in need.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Bobby and Jack and two daughters, Mrs. Kate Lam­bert and Miss Louise Ford and two half‑sisters, Mrs. Cora Stephens of Birmingham and Mrs. W. H. Blythe of Booneville and other relatives.

Funeral and burial services were held Monday afternoon at Liberty. Rev. George H. Ledbetter and Rev. J. D. Thomp­son conducted the services. Many lovely flowers were bank­ed on the newly made mound, attesting the high esteem in which he was held by those who knew and loved him.

SALTILLO - Willie Brice Ford, 87, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Daniel Nursing Facility in Fulton. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Brock and Ella McDonald Brock, and the wife of the late Virgil Ford. She was a native of Lee County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mayfield Church of Christ.

BURNSVILLE – Jeffie Lou Skelton Foreman, 67, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at her residence. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burnsville and was a former member of the Antioch Freewill Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at the Iuka Shirt Factory.

She was a retired beautician and member of First Methodist Church of Booneville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Forrester and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Forrester.

He was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Unim County to the late James Arthur Fortune and Maggie Lou Taylor Fortune. He retired from Mohasco Furniture and was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

Annis Dewdrop Foster, 65, of New Site, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness.

Services were Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace South officiating. Burial was in New Site Cemetery.

Mrs. Foster was a housewife and a Baptist. She was the widow of the Rev. Robert Foster. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Dunn, J. H. Dunn, J. C. Dunn and Oliver "Shorty" Dunn.

She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Rosie and Harmon Clark of New Site, Sara and Wade Downs, Sandra Kay and Charles England and Brenda and James Ronnie England, all of Booneville, and Pat and Nathan Davis of the Cairo community; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Susan Foster of New Site and Dale and Shirley Foster and Terry and Brenda Foster, all of Booneville; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He attended North Side Baptist Church in of Sandwich, IL. He retired from Sears with 30 years of service. He lived in the Leland /Sandwich area since 1964. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Germany during WW II and he loved his family and friends and music.

CORINTH - Charles F. Fortune, 86, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1916, in Caledonia, Mo. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was in the 957th Field Artillery Battalion behind Patton all through Europe. He was a member of the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and remained active until his illness. He enjoyed watching TV, especially the remote, and all sports. The Chicago Cubs were his favorite. He was a retired gateman with the L & M Railroad.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Vanderford officiating. Burial will be in the Valley of Dogwood Cemetery.

She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She was a retired seamstress for Mitchell's Shirt Factory. She loved and lived for her family and friends. She loved her life in such a way to have a home in Heaven. She was the widow of Brody Fowler who died in April 1979.

PLANTERSVILLE ‑ Luzell Helms Francis, 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was a native of Lee County and a longtime resident of Plantersville. She retired from the Lee County School System after 24 years service to Verona Schools. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Plantersville, where she was a member of the Sunday School and WMU ministries. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and spending special time with her children and grandchildren.

CORINTH - Ann Louise Paluck Frank, 89, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Dogwood Plantation Assisted Living Center in Corinth. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., she was born July 5, 1915, to John and Antonia Paluck. She had been a resident of Corinth for several years to be near her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and crafts. She and her husband were avid Cincinnati Reds fans after going to Florida for Spring Training. She is now at rest with her "Ozzie."

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the David Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio with Tobias Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. McPeters Funeral Directors is in charge of the local arrangements.

Robert. L. Franklin Dies, After Long Illness

Funeral services for Robert Luther Franklin of Booneville were conducted Saturday morning in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mr. Franklin died Wednesday, July 29, 1964 at 4:50 p.m. in Trollinger Nursing Home following an illness of 15 years. He was a farmer and 58 years of age.

Survivors include four sons, James Franklin of Zion, Ill., Glen Franklin, stationed with the service in North Carolina; Robert Franklin, stationed with the service in Georgia and Johnnie Franklin of Marked Tree, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Jewel Rowan of Aurora.

Mrs. Alice Franks, 78, of Biloxi, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Biloxi.

Mrs. Franks was born in Booneville and was a longtime resident of Biloxi. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi, and was the former owner of Tux & Tails Formal Wear in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Floy Franks, her her parents Edgar and Mary Smith, a sister, Opal Walden, and brother Carman Smith.­

He was born Aug. 21, 1962, in Walker County, Ala., to Johnnie and Lorene Reese Franks. He was a welder at Big Bee Manufacturing in Tremont for several years. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Mantachie. He enjoyed fishing.

There will be no service. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, Justin Franks and Derick Franks, both of Michigan; three sisters, Margaret Johnson of Marietta, and Deborah Underwood and Connie Roberson, both of Fulton; two brothers, Johnny Franks of Fulton and Mitchell Franks of Michigan; a dear friend, Cindy Reese of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at the home of his sister, Connie Roberson, at 185 Mahl Road, just off Spencer Road, in the Clay community near Fulton.

BOONEVILLE - Jerry Wayne Franks, 62, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Savannah, Tenn., to Brodis Lee Franks and Irene Hamilton Franks. He was a retired truck driver for Action Industries, a member of the Reaching Out Pentecostal Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed building ultra-light airplanes, fishing and reading. He was a people person who loved everybody and everybody loved him.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Jones and Bro. Dale Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE – Sara Marjorie Oakley Franks, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, surrounded by her family at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville. She was born July 8, 1921, in the Osborne Creek community, the daughter of Claude A. and Ruth Smith Oakley. She graduated from Wheeler High School as the Valedictorian of her class. Seventeen years after completing high school and with four children, she entered Northeast Miss. Junior College, where she again graduated with honors. She continued her education in her chosen field of banking, attending the three year Memphis School of Banking where she was one of five graduating with honors. She began her banking career at the Prentiss County Home Bank, which later merger with the Bank of Mississippi. She retired in 1991, as Assistant Vice-President of the Booneville branch after having worked with the bank for 37 years. She was a firm believer in supporting her community by giving her time and energy to various organizations. She was a longtime member and past president of the Booneville Business and Professional Women’s Club and she was named Woman of the Year three times and Woman of Achievement four times, including state runner-up. She also served in the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Prentiss County Heart Association and on the board of Directors of the United Way of Prentiss County. She also worked with the Prentiss County Development Association from its inception, serving as its Treasurer and on the Board of Directors. She was a member of the Prentiss County Democratic Executive Committee for many years. She also served on the Advisory Council to the Prentiss County Vocational Technical School, where she taught bank-related courses in the business and office department of the school. The Prentiss County Future Business Leaders of America named her FBLA Business Person of the Year. She was a staunch supporter of Wheeler School and its athletic program, serving as treasurer of the Wheeler Booster Club. She was very active in Wheeler Baptist Church where she taught the adult women’s Sunday School class for over 20 years. After moving her membership to First Baptist Church in Booneville she remained faithful and active by teaching Sunday School classed and Women’s Circle and by leading a prayer group. She was always devoted to her family and to God. She will be deeply missed.

BOONEVILLE - Martha Moore Franks, 87, died Saturday, September 19, 1991, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Booneville, and a retired bank secretary.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Hankins, Rev. J. A. Thornton and Rev. Bill Kemp officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Franks of Booneville: and several nieces and nephews.

CORINTH - Robert Thomas "Tom" Franks, 65, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Ark., but attended Tate Baptist Church. He was a self-employed antique dealer. He had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing gospel music. He loved his family and friends.

THOMAS O. FRANTZ

MEMPHIS - Thomas O. Frantz, 79, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Kirby Pines in Memphis after a long illness. He was born in Hornellsville, N.Y., and grew up in Hornell, N.Y. He lived in Philadelphia, Pa., where he worked for the Crane Company. He then moved to Spartanburg, S.C., and worked for the Kohler Company, and then to Tupelo where he was plant manager at Elger Plumbing until retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening and took pride in being the family's problem solver and repairman. He was a great father.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Gretchen Frantz of Booneville and Barbara Hayden of Cordova, Tenn.; a son, Christopher Frantz of Madison; five grandchildren, Katie Hayden, Thomas Hayden, Andrew Hayden, Chris Hayden and Michele Frantz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinor Klos Frantz, in 2000.

Charlene Fraser, 80, of Wheeler, died Monday, April 9, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.

Mrs. Fraser was retired from South Central Bell and a Methodist. She was the widow of W. F. Fraser. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Chris Gentry.

George Clovis Fraser, 93, of Route 1, Booneville, died Friday, May 22, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a brief illness.

Mr. Fraser was a retired farmer and carpenter.  He was a Methodist.

MISS LUCY SIMMONS FRASER

Obituary - Banner Independent, Booneville, Mississippi, 23 February 1933

The remains of Mrs. Lawson Fraser, of St. Louis, arrived here Sunday and were interred in the Booneville Cemetery at 1:30, with Rev. J. V. Bennett conducting the sad rites.

Mrs. Fraser was before her marriage Miss Lucy Simmons, the daughter of a pioneer from old Tishomingo County, Mr. Tucker Simmons, a good citizen who stood high in the Masonic circles.  He was probably one of the charter members of the local lodge.

Mrs. Fraser had been a member of the Carolina Methodist Church since early childhood.  She was known for her Christian virtues, her kindness of heart.  Outstanding was her administrations to the sick.  It was never too dark or cold, the distance too great to go to her friends in time of distress.  It is wonderful to leave such a record, marked by sincerity of purpose, unselfishness and a dependability under all circumstances.

The remains were accompanied by the sorrowing husband, son and daughter, with beautiful flowers covering her casket.

The sympathy of friends go out to the grief of the stricken ones.  She leaves her husband, a son, Mr. Tucker Fraser, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Dickey, of St. Louis, a number of grandchildren, and a brother, Mr. James Simmons.

Mrs. Luna Gertrude Fraser, 77, of Route 1, Booneville, died Saturday, August 31, in the Northeast Mississippi Hospital following four years of failing health.

Services were held Sunday, September 1, at the Tuscumbia Baptist Church with burial in the Liberty Cemetery.  Brother Jimmy Wallace and Brother Jimmy Carl Bryant officiated.

She was a housewife and a charter member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, J. P. Fraser of Booneville; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Winfield of Booneville, Miss Beatrice Fraser of Tupelo, and Mrs. Virginia Davis of Joliet, Ill.; one brother, Grady Pardue of Booneville; two sisters, Mrs. Willie White and Mrs. Verna Moore, both of Booneville; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

Mrs. Minnie Fraser Dies

Mrs. Minnie Fraser, wife of the late George B. Fraser, died Friday night at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital after an extended illness.  She was a member of the First Methodist Church, a housewife and was 75 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home with Rev. W. R. Richerson officiating.  Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

She leaves a son, Ronald Fraser of Booneville; two brothers, Dan Prather of Haleyville, Ala. And Bill Prather of Libertyville, Ill.; six sisters, Mrs. Lillian Anderson of Columbia, Mrs. Myrtle Parks, Miss Lenora Prather, and Mrs. Nelia Butler of Booneville, Mrs. Opal Hughey of Baldwyn and Mrs. Lula Fraser of Tupelo; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Final Services Held for W. Fraser

Final services were held for William Gaines Fraser, who died Tuesday, January 30, at his home yesterday at 2 p.m.  Rev. W. M. Jones officiated and McMillan and Sons were in charge of the services.  Burial followed at Booneville cemetery.

Mr. Fraser died after a lingering illness of two months.  He was a member of the Carolina Methodist Church and a well-known farmer.  He had spent the 81 years of his useful life in helping to make Prentiss County a better place to live.

He is survived by one son, George Fraser of Booneville; and two daughters, Mrs. Douglas Dallison of Booneville and Mrs. Claude Stoop of Corinth.  He leaves eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

MRS. WILLIE MASSEY FRASER

Banner Independent, Booneville, Mississippi, 18 March 1982

Mrs. Willie Massey Fraser, 90, of Booneville, died unexpectedly at her residence Thursday, March 11.

Services were held Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Fraser was a Baptist and a housewife.

She is survived by her husband, Clovis Fraser; a son, W. C. Fraser of Louisville, Ky.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Pitts of Booneville, Marie Boren of Memphis, and Ella Griffin of Truman, Ark.; a sister, Ester Walden of Booneville; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

MRS. JIM FRASIER

Mrs. Jim Frasier died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tommie Jones.  Funeral services were held at the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon conducted by Bro. Glacerar of Hamilton, Miss. and Bro. Gullett of Booneville, after which the body was laid to rest in the Booneville Cemetery.  There was a large crowd to pay the tribute of respect to the many family and friends.  She had a noble character and was loved by all who knew her.  She leaves four children to mourn her death, and several other relatives and friends.  The children are Mrs. Tommie Jones of near Oakhill, Mrs. Lafayette Tucker of Hamilton, Mr. Willie Fraser of Hamilton, and Mr. Jeffie Frasier of Booneville, Miss.

LEON FRAZIER

CORINTH ‑ Leon Frazier, 51, died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at his residence. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church and owner of Senators Coaches and Dogwood Plantations. He was a member of the Heisman and Frazier Family. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club where he was chosen 1996 Kiwanian of the year; he also had served as past president. He attended Bell School and was a graduate of Kossuth High School. He was a stockholder and funeral director at Memorial Funeral Home. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Deposit Guaranty Bank. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Wille Frazier; his mother and father‑in‑law, Eules and Beulah Sellers

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Gospel Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Gary Hodum officiating. Bur­ial will be in the Henry Cemetery in Corinth. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements

BRO. WILLIAM FRAZIER

CORINTH ‑ Bro. William Berry Frazier, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was retired from Gateway. He was a minister for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie B Frazier; two sons, Dennis Frazier and Leon Frazier; and one daughter‑in‑law, Faye Frazier.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Tabernacle with the Rev. Gary Hodum officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery. Memorial Funer­al Home is in charge of the arrange­ments.

Survivors include two sons, Buddie Frazier and Wallace Frazier of Corinth; two daughters, Alice Gibbs and Nell Sanders of Corinth; one sis­ter, Minta Costilow; 14 grandchildren, 20 great‑grandchildren.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Alice Frederick

Alice Frederick, 83, died Monday, October 12, 1998, at her home. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. F. Frederick.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Magill officiating. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, H. W. Frederick and Tommy W. Frederick, both of Iuka; one granddaughter, Lisa Buck of Iuka; two grandsons, Greg Frederick and Jeffery Frederick, both of Iuka; four great-grandsons, Korey and Jonathan Frederick, and Dylan and Logan Buck; one sister, Eunice Thorne of Iuka.

Services Held For Bolivar H. Frederick

Bolivar H. Frederick, S. died Monday, February 10, 1997 at the Rehab and Healthcare Center in Huntsville, Ala. He was a member and deacon at Soul Crossroads Baptist Church. H was a Mason. He was a retired public safety officer with TVA Colbert Steam Plant and Pickwick Dam.

Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday at South CrossroadBaptist Church with Bro. G. D. Jones, Bro. Steve Kennedy and Bro. Robert Powell officiating. Burial was in South Crossroads Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

ESTELLE FREDERICK

BOONEVILLE - Estelle Lee Aldridge Frederick, 87, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at her daughter's home in Decatur, Ala. She was a retired employee of Blue Bell Manufacturing in Booneville and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and flowers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister J. A. Thornton officiating. Burial - will be in East Prentiss Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Curtis and husband, James, of Decatur, Ala.; a brother, Dillard Aldridge of Illinois; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Frederick; a daughter, Helen Norman; and a son, Charles Frederick.

Pallbearers will be Bill Moran, Terry Thompson, Jason Frederick, John Chris Ratliff, Freddie Norman, Bill Gerrod and , Carl Norman.

Visitation will continue until service time today.

FREDDY FREDERICK

            FULTON ‑ Freddy M. Frederick, 48, died Thursday, Jan 2, 2003, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1954. He was a former employee of FMC, JESCO and Cooper. He was a member of the last Fulton Baptist Church.

            Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Setter Funeral Home Chapel with Bur, Dewitt Bain officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.

            Survivors include his wife, Dianne Houston Frederick; four daughters, Michele Roberts and her husband, Jeff, of Booneville, Abby Frederick, and Heather Frederick and her husband, Keith, all of Fulton, and Courtney Shaw and her husband, Ste vie, of Pontotoc; a son, Jay Cardin of Fulton; his father, Eugene Frederick of Booneville; two brothers, Sammy Frederick, and Benny Frederick and his wife, Cathy, all of Booneville; a sister, Becky Crawford and her husband, Kimble, of Booneville; his grandchildren, Ashley and Bradley Frederick, Zack Shaw, Kaleb Roberts and Danielle Roberts; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Charlene Frederick.

HOWARD DEAN FREDERICK

IUKA - Howard Dean Frederick, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was a teacher, assistant principal and principal in the Tishomingo County School system for 43 years. He was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Hankins and the Rev. J.B. Burns officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Cox Frederick of Iuka; two daughters, Patty Lynette Frederick and Cynthia "Cindy" Frederick, both of Germantown, Tenn.; a special aunt, Ava Earnestine Bullard of Iuka; a nephew, Larry Frederick and wife, Regina, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Cara Frederick; a brother, Hoyt Frederick; and a nephew, Roger Frederick.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Trussell, Walter Wynn, Robert Stringer, Jimmy Smith, Charles Pardue and Tim Wigginton.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Goldsmith and Bill Stahl.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.

BOONEVILLE - Ira D. Fredrick, 83, died Sunday, December 17, 1989, at the Aletha Lodge Nursing Home in Booneville after an extended illness. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with J. A. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the East Prentiss Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle Aldridge Frederick of Booneville: one daughter, Shirley Curtis of Decatur, Ala.; one son, Charles Frederick of Booneville; two sisters, Lona Palmer of Hamilton, Ala. and Vadie Shouse of Sparks, Ga., six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

LAURA P. FREDERICK

IUKA - Laura P. Frederick, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at the Iuka Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and a retired employee of Blue Bell Manufacturing in Tishomingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Bobby Johnson and Bro. Jim Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Freddie Dobbs and Jimmy Frederick, both of Iuka; a daughter, Jane Woodruff of Burnsville; two sisters, Joy Cooker and Ann Harvey, both of Iuka; eight grandchildren, Randy Kelly, Kenaniah Moore, Amy Walker, Jason Woodruff, Jennifer Wilbanks, Bridgett Mitchell, Josh Dobbs and Emily Shelby; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Nellie Linton Pruitt; a brother, Elton Pruitt; and two sisters, Ruth Dempsey and Edith Crawford.

RITA FREDERICK

BELMONT - Rita McKee Frederick, 62, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at the Care Center of Red Bay, Ala. She was born March 5, 1942, in Montgomery, Ala. She was an artist, a seamstress and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved doing arts and crafts and attending craft shows.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Burge and Bro. Earl McAnally officiating. Burial will be in Rutledge-Salem Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Frederick of Belmont; a daughter, Julie Andrew and husband, John, of Belmont; a son, Franko McKee and wife, Dana, of Belmont; her parents, C.O. and Sara Glenn of Iuka; a sister, Bunny Glenn of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Dr. Bobby Glenn of Jackson; five grandchildren, Whitney Andrew, Deidra Andrew, Summer Andrew, Daniel Andrew and Hunter McKee; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clint McKee; a daughter, Renee McKee; a granddaughter, Hillary McKee; and her grandparents, Chester and Rita Glenn, and Dewey and Lula Goss.

GRACIA MARLENE FREESE

BOONEVILLE - Gracia Marlene Freese, 60, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born Feb. 7, 1943, in Belden to David Henry Turman and Gracie Shaw Turman. She was a loving mother, a faithful wife, and a compassionate and caring nurse. She worked as a registered nurse for much of her life. She completed her associate of nursing degree magna 'cum laude at the Baptist College of Charleston in 1980. Until her retirement in 1992 from Baker Hospital in Charleston, S. C., she was a leading trauma nurse in the emergency room. She completed her bachelor of science and master of science degrees in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992. She then served as a. nursing instructor at Northeast Mississippi Community College until her retirement in 2000. She was an active member of several professional organizations and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She volunteered with community organizations including Boys Scouts of America. She received a number of volunteer service awards while working with the Cub Scouts program in Summerville, S. C. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Daniel Wentworth officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Corinth.

Survivors include her husband of 38  years, Allen Paul Freese, whom she married May 22, 1965; two sons, Keith Allen Freese and wife, Stephanie, of Booneville, and Brian Paul Freese of Atlanta; two daughters, Kristina Lynn Plachetka and husband, Bill, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Suzanne Denise Littlejohn and husband, Rick, of. Saltillo; five brothers, Elton Turman and wife, Eulene, of Russellville, Ala., James Turman and wife, Noreen, of Fulton, Walter Turman and wife, Betty, of Loveland, Colo., Oscar Turman and wife, Betty, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ottis "Buddy" Turman and wife, Ann, of Zion, Ill.; three sisters, Mary R. Whitley and husband, Bill, of Booneville, Callie Perry and husband, Jack, of Antioch, Ill., and Merledeen Barnes and husband, Billy Joe, of Marietta; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Littlejohn and Abigail Faith Littlejohn, both of Saltillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Otis Maurice Turman, Robert Moore Turman, Edd Turman and Frank Turman.

JAMES FREEZE

BOONEVILLE - James Oliver Freeze, 80, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Wheeler to Jim W. Freeze and Sally Downs Freeze. He was a shipyard welder and a Baptist. He enjoyed gardening and raising cattle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewayne Morgan and Bro. Terry Scott officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Velma Christian Freeze; two sons, Jim Freeze of Wheeler, and Gary Freeze and wife, Vickie, of Brandon; a sister, Gladys Stanton of Booneville; four grandsons, Doug Freeze and wife, Andrea, of Horn Lake, Jeff Freeze of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mark Freeze and Jason Freeze, both of Brandon; a great-grandson, Alex Freeze; a host of nieces and nephews.

His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buster Green, Randy Moore, B.J. Copeland and Buddy Hooper.

Visitation will be from noon to service time today.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

CORINTH - David John Ellis Friar, 64, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wolf Creek M.B. Church in Booneville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Springfield's Chapel Funeral Home of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

ANNIE FROST

GOLDEN - Annie Ozella Frost, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at her residence. She was a native of Mississippi and was retired as a beautician after 50 years. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Johnnie Frost; her parents, Doc and Mary Clement; three sisters, Inez Goodwin, Ida Fuller and LaRue Montgomery; two brothers, D.W. Clement and Eula Clement; and a son-in-law, David Pitts.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Billy West and Bro. Billy Credille officiating. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Pitts of Golden; one son, Johnnie Stephen Frost of Golden; two sisters, Ila Prestage of Red Bay, Ala., and Edith Goodwin of Golden; three brothers, Judge Clement and his wife, Alvaline, Edward Clement and his wife, Sybil, all of Belmont, and Charles Clement and his wife, Alma, of Sheffield, Ala.; five grandchildren, Lisa Page of Belmont, Tammie Gober of Golden, Jeff Gober of Tupelo, Steve Frost of Saltillo and Tiffany Frost of Okolona; eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Inman, Zachary Thomas, Kammie Gober, Justin Gober, Morgan Gober, Brooklyn Frost, Jaida Lansdell and Makenna Gober.

GLADYS FROST

BOONEVILLE ‑ Gladys Frost, 89, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. She was a retired inspector for Blue Bell and Prentiss Manufacturing Company. She was a member of East Booneville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sis­ters, Myrtle Walden, Elva Brown and Zella Hopkins; and one brother, Earl Frost.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include one sister, Oral Holley of Booneville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. today and until service time Monday.

IRENE FROST

BALDWYN - Irene Kirksey Frost died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Craighead County, Ark., on Nov. 1, 1908. She married Clarence Archie Frost of Baldwyn in 1928. She was a beautician in Baldwyn for many years.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held in the Baldwyn Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, William K. Frost and his wife, Elizabeth, of Baldwyn; two grandchildren, Melanie Frost Hopkins and her husband, Tim, of Fulton, and William Robert Frost and his wife, Sabrina, of Tishomingo; eight great-grandchildren; her loving friend and caregiver Victoria Emmons; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Kirksey; one sister, Faye Kirksey Pruitt; two brothers, Estil Jason Kirksey and Russell Lynn Kirksey.

Leroy Frost, 53, died Monday, September 22, 1997, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis after a long illness. He was self-employed. He was a Mason and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Church of God with the Rev. Doyle Ferrell and Minister James Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

DR. AZEL FRYE

BOONEVILLE - Dr. Azel G. Frye Jr., 79, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was a retired after 23 years as a U. S. Army physician, having served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Corinth.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Elliott and Bro. Ben Parman officiating. Burial will be, in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

CORINTH - Timothy A. Frye, 35, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at his home. He was a 1986 graduate of Corinth High School and a 1995 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a member of the U.S. Navy for six years and served in the Gulf War. He was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Sculley officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Christie Frye of Corinth, whom he married in 1996; a son, Nicholas Shane Frye of Corinth; a daughter, Taylor Alyssa Frye of Corinth; his parents, Franklin and Carol Frye of Corinth; three sisters, Madinna Melvin and husband, Ken, of Corinth, and Kathy Horner and husband, Clark, and Marsha Frye, all of Horn Lake; his grandmothers, Iris Pearl Frye of Logan, W.Va., and Mae Fox of Corinth; nieces, Cristina Fields, Alisha Horner, Sarah Marie Melvin, Gatie Gass and Misty Renee Melvin; two nephews, Matthew Horner and Jonathan Horner; a great-nephew, Jackson Dean Melvin.

ROBERT B. FRYAR

DUMAS - Robert B. Fryar, 66, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at his home in the Pine Grove community. He was the owner and operator of Fryar Sawmill and Lumber Company. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher, and he was a charter member of the Southeast Tippah Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Elton Fryar.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Pine Grove Baptist Church near Dumas with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Bro. Terry Ledbetter will officiate, assisted by Bro. Randy Bostick, Bro. Phillip Cooper and Bro. Harvey Sewell. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gisham Fryar of Dumas; his mother, Allie Virginia Jones Fryar of Ripley; two daughters, Betty Reno and Gale Jumper of Dumas; one son, Robert Alien Fryar of Dumas; two sisters, Mary Eunice Johnson of Lake Forest, III., and Betty Jean Bullock of Ripley.

Pallbearers will be Robert Alien Fryar, Caleb Fryar, Wayne Jumper, Warren Reno, Michael Smith, Stephen Smith and Henry E. Gipson.

DICKIE FUGITT

BOONEVILLE - Carroll Joseph "Dickie" Fugitt, 65, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Booneville to Joseph Henry Fugitt and Ophelia Hare Fugitt. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Booneville. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a retired construction inspector with Rural Development (formerly FmHA) after 22 years of service. An architectural draftsman, he assisted in the design of the Hancock Building in Chicago and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. He designed numerous houses and buildings in the Booneville area, including the Booneville City Hall. He was a licensed pilot. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and playing the harmonica.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Lyla J. Lambert Fugitt; a daughter, DeAnna Fugitt Dorman and her husband, Gragg, of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Carolyn Sue Fugitt Cole an her husband, Eddie Wayne, of Booneville; three nephews, Carey McLain of Booneville, Bobby Fugitt Jr. of Columbus, and Mickey Fugitt of Sebastapol; a stepdaughter, Leana Gargus and her husband, Ricky, of Boonevile; three step-grandchildren, Amanda Gargus, Kim Perrin and Meagyn Wren; six step-great-grandchildren, Whitney Calloway, Randel Dorsey, Kolton Dorman Caperton, Brianna Perrin, Jaxen Perrin and Hannah Wren; and special aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Ann Hare Fugitt; his parents; and a brother, Bobby Fugitt Sr.

Chad T. Fugitt, 87, of 203 Marietta St., Booneville, died Monday. Feb. 18, 1991, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.

Services were Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.

Mr. Fugitt was a retired painter and a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kate Holley Fugitt; and several nieces and nephews.

CLOVIS FUGITT

BOONEVILLE - Clovis Fugitt, 85, was dead on arrival Wednesday at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a retired painter, a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and a World War I veteran.

BOONEVILLE — Margaret Eunice Fugitt, 80, died Saturday, March 18, 1995, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was a retired secretary and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE - Ewell Wayne Fugitt, 52, died Sunday. March 21, 1993, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Booneville and a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Prentiss Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Jane Oxner Fugitt of Booneville: two daughters, Sherrie Fugitt of Rienzi and Melissa Fugitt of the home: two sons, Kenny Wayne Fugitt of Booneville and Stacey Fugitt of the home; his parents, W. C. and Myrtis Fugitt of Rienzi; two sisters, Bettie Mullins of Rienzi and Jewell Jacobs of Corinth: two brothers, Ruben Fugitt and Rubel Fugitt, both of Thrasher, and two grandchildren.

GRANNY FUGITT

Death came after an illness of two years to Granny Fugitt early Tuesday night, April 12. She was over 79 years old. Mrs. Fugitt was born and lived all her life in the New Site community. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Siloam, where she worshipped regularly since early childhood.

She leaves three sons, H. C. and E. W. of New Site and A. F. of Lakeland, Fla. Two daughters, Mrs. A. F. Ozbirn of Rienzi and Mrs. G. C. Lindsey of Vina, Ala., two sisters, Mrs. Bill Ellis of Cooper, Tx. and Mrs. E. J. England of New Site; 27 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive.

Her husband John Henry Fugitt, a daughter, Mrs. Florence Hughes and a son, John Monroe Fugitt, who died last month, proceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at Siloam on April 11 with Rev. C. C. Ivy and Rev. V. V. Collier saying the rites. Burial followed in Siloam Cemetery. Her grandsons served ad pallbearers Anion Ozhirn, Orville Fugitt, Boyd Fugitt, Ray, Wrather and Kenneth Hughes. Her granddaughters were flower girls. J. MONROE FUGITT

Sudden death, which has struck so frequently the past few weeks, brought to an untimely end the life of John M. Fugitt of New Site last Thursday afternoon. He was about his usual duties on the farm when he suffered a heart attack. A farmer, he was only 46 years of age.

Services were held at two o'clock Friday afternoon at Little Brown Church, his neighbors and friends of a lifetime gathering to pay their last tributes. He had lived all of his life in the New Site community, had been a dependable, upright, God-fearing neighbor and citizen, but most of all had saved his devotion for his family. Seldom demonstrative, he never had to prove his love for them. An even, knowing, understanding and tenderness characterized his daily labors.

His wife Ora Mooreland Fugitt; two sons, James Monroe Fugitt and Jerry Wayne Fugitt of New Site and three daughters, Dorothy Fay Johnnie Mae and Jean Yvonne, all at home, are left behind. His mother Mrs. Fannie Anne Fugitt; three brothers, H. C. and E. W. of New Site; A. F. Fugitt of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. A. F. Ozbirn and Mrs. G. C. Lindsey.

CORINTH - John David "J.D." Fulks Jr., 77, died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a used car dealer for many years and a Pentecostal. He enjoyed fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hodum and the Rev. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Maxine W. Fulks of Corinth; a sister, Gladys Newcomb of Corinth; a half brother, Bobby Fulks of Michie, Tenn.; a half sister, Nadine Borroum of Corinth; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Fulks Sr. and Minnie Fulks.

MARIETTA - Louisa Stacy Fugitt, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at the Red Bay (Ala.) Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed fishing and housekeeping.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville with Minister Ronnie Livingston and Minister J. A. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery.

Survivors include her nephew and caregiver, Eugene Horn and wife, Dorothy, of Booneville; special friends, R. B. Hall, Lance Hall and Mitzi Hall Lambert; host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Fugitt, and 13 brothers and sisters.

Opal Irene Fugitt, 87, of Marietta, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the Longwood Living Community Center alter a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20. Burial was in East Prentiss Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Patricia Ann "Pat" Fugitt, 50, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at her home in Booneville after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Booneville to Ralph R. Hare and Billie Frances South Hare. She was self‑employed in the tire disposal business and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Booneville. She enjoyed traveling, and working in her yard and home.

CORINTH - David E. Fulks, 68, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Iuka Hospital. He was born March 6, 1934, in Alcorn County to the late John D. and Velma Parker Felks. He was formerly a resident of Cicero, Illinois where he retired from a manufacturing company. He attended the Hill Top Church of God. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Moody officiating. Burial will be in the Old Danville Cemetery in Rienzi.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Felks of Iuka and Harold Felks of Burnsville; three brothers, Clifton Leroy Felks, John Felks and Thomas Felks, all of Rienzi; one sister, Ellie F. BOONEVILLE - Billie D. Fuller, 55, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Bassett, Ark. She was a member of the Fairview Church of God and a minister. She enjoyed preaching, singing gospel music, shopping and animals.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Reese, Bro. Melvin Harrison and Bro. Marshall Tennison officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Church of God Cemetery.

EDNA EARL FULLER

Edna Earl Helton Fuller, 77, of Louisville, Ky. stepped through heaven's door on March 28, 2004 after an ex­tended illness. She was the former Edna Earl Helton of Holcut, MS and the daughter of the late Coleman H. and Maudie Helton. She married and moved to Kentucky in 1949, where she lived for 48 years. She was a housewife and worked with her husband in a photo shop as a secretary and touch-up person. They moved to Louisville in 1955 where her husband went to work for the city news paper as a photographer. She loved family, friends, art, painting and playing on the computer.

Services were at the Resthaven Funeral Home in Louisville, Ky. on March 31, 2004. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Survivors include her hus­band of 55 years, Richard Fuller; two daughters, Jennie Woods and Rebecca Fuller; one sister, Earnestine (Tiner) Atkins; two brothers, James Kermit Helton and Aubry Wayne Helton, both of luka; three granddaughters, Nicki and Jamie Fuller and Jessica Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Orvill Helton; one sister, Opal McAnally; and one son, Mark Fuller.

LESLIE FULLER

OKOLONA - Leslie Fuller, 74, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center. He was a member of Zion Springs M. B. Church. He completed high school at Aberdeen and furthered his education in the U. S. Army through the Army Intelligence School. He received many medals in the Army including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devices, Valorous Unit Award Medal, Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon for Overseas Service, two terms, Driver and Mechanic Badge and the Army of Occupation Medal that he received in Germany. He retied from the Army in 1985.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Springs M. B. Church with the Rev. Nollen Elve Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.

BELMONT - Rena Ivey Fuller, 89, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at the Tishomingo Manor in Iuka. A native of Prentiss County, she was a homemaker and a member of Jordan Hill Church of God of Prophecy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Charlotte Ivey; her husband, Norman Fuller; a son, Dexter Fuller; and four sisters and five brothers.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Friday.

REZZIE M. FULLER

RED BAY, Ala. - Rezzie M. Fuller, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at the Care Center of Red Bay. She was a native of Alabama. She was a retired dietary supervisor with the Mississippi State Hospital in Jackson, where she worked for 10 years. She was a member of Halltown Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with Glyndon Brittan Townsend and Amanda Childers officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Oneice Townsend of Golden; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clovis E. Fuller; a sister, Elizabeth Pharr; and five brothers, Willie Townsend, Arlie Townsend, Fred Townsend, Ellis Townsend and Lawrence Townsend.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

HAROLD FULTON

IUKA - Harold Fulton, 57, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Shiloh Falls Golf Club in Pickwick Dam, Tenn. A native of Clarksdale, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Fulton. He graduated from Clarksdale Coahoma High School. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated from Delta State University, where he played on the tennis team. He married Janet Gann of Iuka. They lived in Clarksdale, where he managed the Five-County Farmers Association, a co-op founded by his father. He and his family moved to Iuka in 1977. He was an employee and later co-owner of Piggly Wiggly. An avid sportsman all his life, he enjoyed tennis, snow skiing, dove and duck hunting with his son and friends, and especially golf.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Iuka United Methodist Church with Dr. Prentiss Gordon Jr., the Rev. Ed Temple and the Rev. Edna Kate Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Gann Fulton of Iuka; a son, Alexander Dean Fulton of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, T. O. Fulton Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Lyon; a sister, Francis Jacobs and husband, Jim, of Brandon, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Arch Corley, Tolly Payne, R. L. Brown III, D. O. Jourdan III, George Farris, Harry Graves, Charlie Rousseau and Raymond Terry.

OLLIE L. FUNDERBURK

GOLDEN - Ollie L. Funderburk, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a native of Itawamba County. She was a food service worker for Fairview School for 15 years and a homemaker. She attended Fairview Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with the Rev. Gene O'Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include two daughters, Hildred Jamerson Benton and husband, David, of Deer Park, Texas, and Gola Williams and husband, Junior, of Golden; a son, William Ralph Funderburk and wife, Hildred, of Golden; seven grandchildren, Sharon Williams of Bryan, Texas, Shelia Cliburn of Deer Park, Texas, Lynda Bostick of Belmont, Phillip Williams and Eric William, both of Golden, and Ken Shotts and Todd Shotts, both of Red Bay; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyce Funderburk, and a daughter, Dare Shotts.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Williams, Eric Williams, Ken Shotts, Todd Shotts, Joe Bostick and M.C. Funderburk.

Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.

EDNA FURTICK

RAMER, Tenn. - Edna Montgomery Furtick, 87, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the McNairy General Hospital. She was a Pentecostal and a retired hospital employee.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with the Rev. Jimmy Rich officiating. Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Pat Montgomery and wife, Helen, of Ramer, Tenn., Prather Montgomery and wife, Joyce, of Shreveport, La., and David Furtick and wife, Susann, of Clinton, Tenn.; a daughter, Charlene Wilbanks of Glendale, Ariz.; a brother, Allen Jones Jr. and wife, Sondra, of Ripley, Tenn.; a sister, Bea Wiggs and husband, Dan, of Ripley; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Furtick; her father, Joe Prather; her mother, Ida Jones; her stepfather, Allen Jones; three brothers, Bill Prather, Noel Prather and Earl Jones; and two sisters, Mae Jones and Imogene Campbell.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. today.

MERLE MICHAEL FURTICK

Merle Michael Furtick, 90, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Dal­las, Texas.

Mrs. Furtick was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Prentiss County, Her husband, William Troy Furtick, and her son-in-law, Joe Pierce, preceded her in death.

Services were held Monday, June 3, at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Fu­neral Home in Seagoville, Texas, with burial in Lee Cemetery in Seagoville.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy L. Whitehead and hus­band, Jimmy, and Betty Jane Pierce; three grandchildren: six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bervil Hopkins and Ruby Michael.
