DR. ROBERT FAGIN Dies in Memphis

Dr. Robert Fagin, 45, Memphis Occultist, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at his home following an illness of 20 months.

He suffered a stroke of apoplexy in 1926 and was recovering until 3 weeks ago, when he had a relapse.

He had lived in Memphis 20 years, going from Booneville, the place of his birth. He attended school at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Fagin specialized in his profession in New York and Vienna.

He went to Memphis in 1908 and had practiced there since. He married Miss Harriett McGee of Baldwyn, Mississippi.

Dr. Fagin was a Shriner, a member of Al Chymia Temple. He worked with the Desoto Lodge. He was one of the most active workers in the Temple Baptist Church, taking special interest in the Men’s Bible Class.

Surviving him are his widow, two daughters, Miss Margaret Fagin and Miss Roberta Fagin; four sisters, Mrs. E. L. White, Miss Kate Fagin and Mrs. Will Scott of Memphis and Mrs. Dwight McNulty of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and his mother, Mrs. P. H. Fagin of Memphis.

He was a nephew of Dr. J. E. Hill of Memphis. Funeral services were conducted by Bro. E. F. Campbell at the residence Thursday at 9 a. m. The body was taken to Baldwyn, Mississippi, for burial.

Dr. Fagin had many relatives in Booneville and a host of friends allot whom were shocked to learn of his untimely death.

BOONEVILLE - Alvin Ray "Patch" Fair, 57, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and a Baptist. He loved fishing.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marty Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Shirley Arnold Fair of Booneville; four daughters, Sherry Fair of Middleton, Tenn., Teresa Pate of Alpine, Melissa Grisham of Baldwyn and Shelia Ervin of Tenn.; four sons, Anthony Britton of Texas, Dewayne Britton of Kentucky, Ronnie Lawson of Verona and Tim Lawson of Baldwyn; his mother, Maybell Fair of Baldwyn; four sisters, Laura Mae Posey of Wheeler, Laverne Fair of Nebraska, Petty Fair of Booneville and Maxine Fair of Baldwyn; six brothers, Richard Fair and Calvin Fair, both of Mantachie, Randle Fair, Houston Fair and Jimmy Fair, all of Baldwyn, and Billy Fair of Verona; 16 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lawson, Tracy Lawson, Anthony Britton, Larry Bullock, Mark Bullock and Brad Grisham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Hall, Kenny Kay and Walter Walters.

DONALD FAIR

BOONEVILLE - Donald Ray Fair, 48, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Alcorn County Health and Rehab after along illness. He was an automobile detailer and a Pentecostal. He enjoyed spending time with his family, detailing cars and planting flowers.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Merle Spearman officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Tina Fair and Kelly Fair, both of Corinth, and Cindy Thompson of Glen; two sons, Greg Fair of Corinth and Justin Brown of luka; four sisters, Donna Eldridge and Mary Timbes, both of Corinth, Shirley Puckett of luka and Brenda Christian of Booneville; four brothers, Charles Fair of Tupelo, Phillip Fair of Booneville, Paul Fair of Corinth and Wayne Fair of Shiloh, Tenn.; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hughie and Dorothy Roberts Fair; a brother, James Fair; and an infant sister, Ruth Ann Fair.

Pallbearers will be Mike McAnally, Andy Chittom, Rodney Walker, Donnie Hamm, Chris Thompson, Trent Foster and Jeff Moreland.

DOROTHY FAIR

Dorothy Inez Roberts Fair, 75, of Booneville, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Magnolia Regional health Center in Corinth.

Services were Wednesday, July 21, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Jones and the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery.

Mrs. Fair was born June 13, 1924, to the late Clovis and Minnie Lee Heavener Roberts. She was a member of East Booneville Pentecostal Church and a housewife. She was the widow of Hughie Fair.

She is survived by four daughters, Donna Eldridge of Booneville, Shirley Puckett of Burnsville, Mary Timbes of the Cairo community and Brenda Christian of Booneville; five sons, Charles Fair of Tupelo, Phillip Fair of Paris, Tenn., Don Fair and Paul Fair, both of Corinth and Wayne Fair of Michie, Tenm; four sisters, Lorraine Quigley of Saltillo, Ann Lee Scott of Guntown, Earnestine Hendricks of Baldwyn, and Helen Spencer of Booneville; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Fair, one brother, Cleo Roberts; and one granddaughter, Melissa Walker.

NADINE  MCANALLY FARLEY

Nadine Farley, 82, of Westland Michigan, died December 22nd 2003. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Services were at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Westland. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery. Officiating was pastor, Bob McDonald.

REV. CHARLES H. FARMER

RIENZI ‑ The Rev. Charles R. Farmer, 65, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at his home in Rienzi. He was born Sept. 7, 1933, in Missouri. He was a retired Baptist minister after 30 years. He pestered many churches, including Union Baptist of Kossuth, Oak Hill Baptist of Booneville, Lebanon Baptist of Ripley and Jacinto Baptist. He attended business school and OBU College in Oklahoma, and graduated from Southwestern Seminary in New Orleans.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Stephenson and Bro. Tony Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

GARY C. FARMER

Gary C. Farmer, 38, of Ripley, formerly of Holly Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, at Baptist Hospital‑Oxford.

Services were Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 3 p.m. at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in East Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery in New Site.

Mr. Farmer was a Baptist was employed as a director with Med Star Ambulance Service.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Bailey Farmer; a daughter, Dawi Nicole Farmer of Victoria, Miss.; a son, Bradley Farmer of Victoria, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Mallory Whitley and Ripley Windham, both of Booneville; a stepson Bronson Pharr of Booneville; his mother, Onetta J. Farmer of Mt. Pleasant, Miss.; a sister, Bontice Betterworth of McHenry, III.; three brothers, John T. Warner of Independence, Miss., James R. Warner of Victoria, Miss., and Richard Farmer of Ripley.

ESSIE FARR

Essie Farr, 68, died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church and was retired from Tishomingo Shoe Company.

Services were at 4 p.m. Monday at Grissom Chapel Church with Bro. Gerald Duncan, and Bro. Gerald Grissom officiating. Burial was in the Grissom Chapel Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband' James Arlen Farr of Burnsville; two daughters, Shirley Cole of Booneville and Barbara Nell Medley of Iuka; three sons, Freddie Farr, Tommy Farr and Robert Earl Farr, all of Burnsville; three sisters, Helen Duncan of and Betty Taylor of Kenosha, Wisc.; one brother, Refus Armstrong of Memphis; 13 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

MARIETTA ‑ Sarah Euella Moore Farrar, 80, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at the North Mississippi Women's Center after a brief illness She was a retired school teacher in the Prentiss County area after 36 years of leaching and was a substi­tute for 12 years. She worked with the youth in the 4‑H Club. She was a past member of the P T. A., R.C D. C., the Home Demonstration Club and the Retired Teacher's Association:' She was a member of the Church of Christ where she taught classes and was involved with the Visitation Pro‑: gram. She assisted the elderly with appointments and other needed ser­vices. She was and active board member of the Pine Vale Children's Home in Corinth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home Chapel in: Baldwyn with Ministers Calvin Barber and Ed Casteel officiating. Burial will be in Zion's Rest Cemetery.

            Survivors include two daughters, Mary Cagle of Booneville and Sara Green and her husband, Lynn, of Marietta: three granddaughters Sara Childers and her husband, Barry, Loretta Beasley and her husband. Mike. Vickie Morris and her husband, Josh; three great‑grandchildren, Austin Beasley, Kacie Childers and Jordan Morris; two brothers, Paul Moore and his wife, Alverta, of Paris, ­Tenn., Stanley Moore and his wife, Sue, of Alapaha, Ga.; one sister, Emma Gaye Adams and her hus­band, J. Hasten Farrar, 93, of the Pratt Community, died Friday, March 26, 2002, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. Funeral services were held Monday, April 1. Burial was in the Pratt Cemetery.

Local survivors include his wife of 74 years, Alice Nichols Farrar of the Pratt Community; a daughter, Charlene Grisham of the Pratt Community; and two sisters, Elese Hinds of Marietta and Paula Lytal of Baldwyn.

LOYCE FARRAR

Loyce Farrar, 86, of Booneville, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.

Services were Sunday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Farrar had lived in Booneville for 60 years. He was the owner of Farrar's Beauty Salon on Main Street prior to his retirement. A hair stylist for six decades, he re­ceived much recognition and numerous awards for his work. He was preceded in death by his par­ents, Walter and Donie Farrar, two sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by one son, Bob Farrar and his wife, Brenda, of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Robert Bradford Farrar; two nieces, Linda Boyles of Slidell, La., and Delene Gann of Booneville; and a close friend, Robin Mom d Booneville.

Pallbearers were Marry Barnes, Rodney Barnes, Gary Dunaway, Olen Saylors, Kim Billingsley and Sidney Nicholson.

SALTILLO - Odean Owen Farrar, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Guntown First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Bobby Robbins, Bro. Clyde Patton and Bro. Martin Jacks officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

ANN J. FARRELL

DES MOINES, Iowa - Annie Laurie Jeffreys Farrell, 78, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital. She was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Marion County, Ala., to Benjamin and Mary Jane Dupres Jeffreys. She moved with her family to Tupelo, where she attended school, graduating in 1940. She attended the First Baptist Church and later Calvary Baptist Church. She was employed by Proctor and Gamble in Prairie until her marriage to Jay Farrell in 1943. After her marriage she moved to Iowa, where she joined Berwick United Church of Christ. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Drake University in Des Moines and Michigan Tech University. She was employed as business manager, secretary and treasurer of the Saydel Consolidated School District for 31 years. She was a member of the East Gate Order of the Eastern Star, the Iowa Association of School Board Secretaries, the Iowa Association of School Business Officials and the International Association of School Business Officials. She enjoyed genealogy and sewing for her grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia and Jerry Meyers of Des Moines, Iowa, and Phyllis and Stephen Farrell of Olympia, Wash.; one son, Larry and Reada Farrell of Saylorville, Iowa; two sisters, Alma Lemons of Pontotoc and Aitha Tackett of Tupelo; two brothers, Jeff Curtis and Betty Jeffreys of Center Point, Ala., and Hugh and Linda Jeffreys of Southaven; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

CORINTH - James Everett Farris, 85, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at his residence. He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Works for 32 years as a salesman and in advertising. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Bro. Frank Burton officiating. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bertha Lee Farris of Corinth; one daughter, Janis Byars and her husband, Harvey, of Corinth; two grandchildren, Kim Woodall of Atlanta, Ga., and Jenae Heep and her husband, Jeff, of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Heep and Lauren Heep; two step-granddaughters, Sonya Carolla of Winona and Dianna Downs and her husband, Mike, of Tupelo; two step-great-grandchildren, Sara Beth Carolla and Jake Corolla; five special caregivers, Doris Alexander, Loretta Emmons, Betty Fry, Superior Hospice and West Clinic in Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Bell North Farris; his father, L. R. Farris; an infant daughter and an infant son.

BOONEVILLE - Paul Farris, 79, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis after an extended illness. He was a retired factory worker and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Nora Farris; one sister, Annie Bullard; and one brother, W. C. Farris.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with the Rev. Herman Hancock officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

Vernon E. Farris, 85 died Saturday, February 26, 2000 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Ms. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, loved his family and friends and enjoys watching and playing sports. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mae Farris, father Henry Clay Ferris, and mother Pettie Flanagan Ferris, son Tommy Dale Ferris, daughter Eva Laverne Ferris.

Mr. Ferris is survived by two sons, Eugene Morton Ferris of Riverside, Ca, Vernon Eugene Ferris of Gold Beach ,Oregon; 2 brothers, Kenneth C. Ferris and wife Myra of Hattiesburg, Ms., Billy F. Ferris and wife Julie of Corinth, Ms.

Ann Jewell Denson McFerrin Faulkner, 81, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in McGregor, Texas.

Services were Wednesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas, with the Rev. Nathan E. Cook, retired Baptist minister from Waco, Texas,

and the Rev. Jerry East, Baptist minister from Kosciusko, officiating.

A lover of music, she served as church pianist and sang in choirs of several Baptist churches. Dedicated to her children, she also taught pre kindergarten and worked at Westview National Bank, Waco, Palais Royal, Houston and in Residence Life at Baylor University.

She is survived by three children, John McFerrin of Huntsville and his wife, Bobbie, Joseph McFerrin of Houston, Linda McFerrin Cook of Waco and her son-in-law, Nathan Cook; grandchildren, Carole Ann Cook Waid and her husband, Michael, of Coppell, Nathan Cook II and his wife, Traci, of Savannah, Ga., Daniel McFerrin Cook and his wife, Rachel, of Round Rock, Chris McFerrin of Huntsville, Colleen McFerrin McBarron and her husband, Thomas, of Houston; great-grandchildren, Brianna McFerrin of Huntsville, Abigail Ann Waid of Coppell and Nathan Cook III of Savannah; two sisters, Lorene Wax of Booneville and Pauline Norton of Columbia, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. W. R. McFerrin; her second husband, Roy M. Faulkner; her parents, John D. and Flora Belle Denson and her sister, Ruth Denson Robertson.

CLYDE C. FAULKNER SR.

CORINTH - Clyde C. Faulkner Sr., 91, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born Sept. 20, 1911, to Arthur and Ollie Watkins Faulkner. He was a retired assembler for Ford Motor Company and a member of Guys Christian Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Clyde Faulkner Jr. of Guys, Tenn.; a daughter, Martha Anderson of Ramer, Tenn.; two sisters, Alma Kurley of Albuquerque, N. M., and Lois Reynolds of Livingston, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, R. M. Faulkner; a son, Raymond Faulkner; his wife, Lessie Hale Faulkner; and three sisters, Beulah Chandler, Lilly Mae Latch and Mattie Parvin.

JIM E. FAULKNER

CORINTH - James Edward "Jim" Faulkner, 73, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in Baldwyn as the result of an automobile accident, along with his wife, Mildred Faulkner. He was a retired employee of the Dana Corporation and a member of West Corinth Tabernacle. He was a Shriner and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 657. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

JOHN V. FAULKNER

CORINTH - John V. Faulkner, 66, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at the Church of God of the Union Assembly. He was an employee of Magnolia Hosiery and Structural Products for many years. He most recently worked for Colton's Wrecker Service and C&K Motors/Gray's Used Cars. He was a member of the Faulkner Gospel Singing Group for many years. A people person, he never met a stranger. He loved his family, his friends and his church family.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home's Chapel of Memories with Bro. David Bledsoe Sr., Bro. David Bledsoe Jr. and Bro. Wayne Isbell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lane Family Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Helen Spencer Faulkner of Corinth; a daughter, Donna Hicks and husband, Kenneth, of Corinth; two grandchildren, Angel Bumpas and husband, Bradley, and Colton Hicks, all of Corinth; a great-grandchild, Everley Bumpas of Ramer, Tenn.; a sister, Gladys Smith of Corinth; special in-laws, Herman and Marie Newton of Corinth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thelmer Faulkner, and his mother, Marie Hale Faulkner; a brother, Kelsie Faulkner and wife, Zettie; a brother-in-law, Braddie Smith; and his mother-in-law, Gracie Mullins.

LOUISE FAULKNER

Louise Faulkner, 64, died Saturday, January 15, 2000 at her residence in Iuka, Ms. She was a former bowling instructor and school bus driver for the city of Troy, Michigan. She was also a member of the Lifeline Baptist Church in Troy and a member of the Eastern Star. After moving to Iuka, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Faulkner was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Edd Faulkner.

She is survived by her husband, D. B. KANSAS NICOLE FEAZELL

Kansas Nicole Feazell, 7, of the Altitude Community, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 28. Burial was in the Fairview Church of God Cemetery.

Local survivors include her parents, Allen and Barbie Feazell of the Altitude Community, her grandparents, James and Laura Quay Arnold of the New Hope Community and Sammy and Martha Feazell of Booneville; and her great-grandmother, Jessie Holland of Cairo.

JANET R. FELDMAN

Mrs. Janet R. Feldman, 87, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Memphis and Booneville, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at her home in St. Augustine.

She was co-owner of the Feldman Department Store in Booneville.

Graveside services were Thursday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Baron Hirsch Cemetery. Canale Funeral Directors, Memphis, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Feldman was the widow of Albert E. Feldman. She was past president of District 7 of the B'Nai B'Rith. She was a member of the board of the Leo Levi Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark. She was a founding member and former president of the Pilot Club of Booneville.

She is survived by two sons, Irwin Feldman of St. Augustine, Fla., and Ted Feldman of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Edward P. Rubenstein of Memphis, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

QUITMAN FELKER

BOONEVILLE - Curtis Quitman Felker, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a brief illness. He was a retired employee of Prentiss Manufacturing in Booneville and a member of the Booneville Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was the husband of the late Jean Box Felker, who died in 1986.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Riley officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Jane Cook of Booneville; two grandchildren, Karen Stevens and her husband, Keith, of Rienzi, and Tom Cook and his wife, Mitzi, of Booneville; four great-grandchildren, Karrie Beth Stevens, Alex Cook, Harlee Cook and Carlee Cook.

FRANK FELKER

The end came suddenly and quickly for Mr. Frank Felker, who died shortly after seven o’clock Tuesday morning while he sat and talked with his Physician who had been summoned.

Earlier to see him. In. declining health for several years, Mr. Felker has nevertheless continued to be one of the most familiar figures in Booneville. Always with a kindly greeting, a cordial handshake and a sincere interest in all whose shoulders his touched, Mr. Felker numbered his friends by the scores.

Mr. Felker operated a grocery store for many years, Served one term as chancery clerk, and for a time was in the lumber business. Mr. Felker’s interests found a common ground with people in a walks of life and his sympathy and understand- kg won the favor of political and business associates. Until about three years age he had the devoted companionship of his wife, who died after a lengthy illness.

Elder J. W. Dunn of Memphis, Tenn., was assisted by Mr. Crowson, Booneville minister in saying the last rites. Services were conducted at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon from the residence.

Mr. Feiker was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are one adopted daughter, Miss Annie Rae Felker, of Booneville, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Rob Sartin, also of Booneville. Two brothers, Lee Felker of Booneville and Cliff Felker of Lexington, Tennessee, also survive.

Interment was in Booneville cemetery, McMillan in charge.

LERON FELKER

CORINTH - Leron Faye Rodgers Felker, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at East Tennessee Hospice Center in Knoxville, Tenn. A native of Alcorn County, she was born April 12, 1918, and spent most of her adult life in Corinth. She retired in 1986 as quality control supervisor for Garan Inc. In 1993 she moved to Tennessee to be near her daughter. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Corinth. She was known for her sharing nature and sense of humor.

Services were Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Concord United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at McPeters Funeral Home in Corinth. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Corinth.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Danny and Judy Felker of Memphis, David and Linda Felker of Eagen, Minn., Dennis and Shirley Felker of Hendersonville, N.C., and Brenda and Jim Lawson of Farragut, Tenn.; a sister, Stella Mae Lewis; nephews, Michael and Phillip of Jackson, Tenn.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bradley Felker Curtis and husband, Richard, and Wesley and Wade, Kelli Felker and Cara Wood, David Felker Jr. and wife, Karen, and Trista and Alcia, Scott Felder and wife, Kris, and Micah and Lydia.

            CORINTH –Truie A. "Edith" Felker, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born May 5, 1910, in Craighead County, Arkansas. She retired after 30 years with South Central Bell where she worked as an operator and clerk. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

            Services will be at 10 a.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial well be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

            Survivors include one brother, L. K. Alexander of Bloomington. Ind.; two sisters, Lena Martin and One Lee McMillian of Corinth; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Felker; her parents, B.F Alexander and Gertrude Clark Alexander; one daughter, Cynthia Gail Felker, and one brother, B,H. Alexander.

WILLIAM THOMAS FELKER

Mr. William Thomas Felker succumbed to a three weeks illness Sunday morning, Decem­ber 23, at the Booneville hospi­tal where he had been a pati­ent. He was eighty‑five years of age. Funeral services con­ducted by Mr. Athelston Crow­son and the Rev. G. P. Mayo were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at Little Brown Church, and the body was laid to rest in the family plot in the church cemetery.

Mr. Felker was born in Tish­omingo County but had spent most of his life in this section as a farmer. His wife, the for­mer Sallie McCoy, died in 1930.

Surviving are three sons, Frank Felker and Lee Felker of Booneville, and A. C. Felker of Lexington, Tenn. One bro­ther, John Felker of Holcut, and five sisters, Mrs. Ann McAnn­ally of Duck Hill, Mrs. Minerva Mayo of Booneville, Mrs. Caro­line McAnnally of Guntown, Mrs. Lou Grimes of Holcut, and Mrs. Vina Humphreys of Birm­ingham, Ala., also survive. He also leaves fourteen grandchild­ren and seven great‑grandchild­ren.

Alice Louise Felks, 65, of Rienzi, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

Mrs. Felks was a member of a non-denomination church. She en­joyed going to yard sales and caring for others.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Thomas J. Felks of Rienzi. a son, John Larry Batton of Waycross, Ga.; a daughter, Glenda Faye Batton of Douglas, Ga.; a brother, Jimmy Lee King of Corinth; a sister, Jeanette Michael of Booneville; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubin and Lizzie Jewell.

Vela Fell, 96, died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Southaven. She was a member of Iuka Church of Christ.

BURNSVILLE - Frances Feltman, 79, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at Iuka Hospital. She was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Feltman, in 1981.

Duggar James Feltman passed way at his home on Monday night, November 27th at his residence. He was 87 years old.

He was retired from Jourdan Lumber Company in Iuka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Kate Feltman; three children, Shirley Ruth Parker, Duggar Eugene Feltman, William David Feltman; and one grandson, Greg Feltman.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Bro. Bill Burcham, Bro. Johnny Nunley, and Bro. Melvin Laster officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Jourdan, Virginia Walker, and Margie Forsythe all of Iuka. JAMES A. FELTMAN

CORINTH - James A. Feltman, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at the Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. He was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Riverton, Ala. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart. He was an employee of Biggers Hardware. He later formed his own candy company and was known as the "Candy Man" until his retirement. He was an active member of the Christian Assembly Church and was well known for his gospel singing.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McPeters Funeral Home with the Rev. C.V. Thomas officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Corinth National Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Kathadene Ragenhardt Feltman of Corinth, whom he married April 20, 1946; a son, James H. "Jim" Feltman and wife, Suzanne, of Greenville, Tenn.; a grandson, James Eric Feltman of Greenville, Tenn.; special friends, Flora Strickland and Fay Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

B. Chester Ferrell, 90 of Cherokee Alabama, dies Monday April 9, 2001, at the Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield AL.

BOONEVILLE - Vessie Ferrell, 93, died Friday, May 17, 1996, at Booneville Baptist Hospital after a long illness. She was a retired English professor at Northeast Mississippi Community College and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Booneville.

Robert Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Mr. Fields died Monday, Nov. 5, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A native of Aloe County, he has been a resident of Tupelo for the last 12 years. He was a retired freight terminal manager with F & W Express with 30 years of service. He served in World War II n the U.S. Navy, the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army and served with Company F with the 155th Infantry Division in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a 40-year member of the Lions Club in Clarksdale. He is a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Tupelo where he was a member of Keenagers, the Senior Adult Choir and the Paul Cockrell Sunday school Class He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley and Clarksdale Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon. He enjoyed fishing, golf, woodworking, camping and was an avid reader.

BOONEVILLE – Frederick L. Fields, 38, died Monday at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was an employee of Parker in Booneville and a member of Springhill M.B. Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Springhill M.B. Church with the Rev. Lewis Ragins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Fields of Booneville; his mother, Elester Fields of Booneville; four brothers, Jimmie D. JOEY FIELDS

CORINTH - Joseph Leon "Joey" Fields, 48, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at his parents' residence. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Booneville. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and Mississippi State University. He earned his master's degree in school administration from Delta State University. He was an educator who taught school and coached for 14 years and then served as high school principal for 10 years. He was a board member of the MHSAA and past president of District 1. He was inducted into the Northeast Mississippi Coaches Association for Better Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. He was a member of the MSU Bulldog Club and an avid supporter of MSU and New Site High School athletics. The joy of his life was his boys.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Dr. Gregg Thomas will officiate, and Charlie Browning will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Leon Hinson Fields and Christopher Curtis Fields, both of Booneville; his parents, Leon and Virginia Hinson Fields of Corinth; a sister, Lori Ann Fields Edney and husband, Dr. Dan Edney, of Vicksburg; the mother of his children and special friend, Tina Owens Fields of Booneville; an uncle, Lamar Fields and wife, Carolyn, of Corinth; two aunts, Margie Young of Corinth and Edwina Brassfield of Humboldt, Tenn.; a nephew, Daniel Paul Edney of Vicksburg; nieces, Meredith Edney and Meg Edney, both of Vicksburg; special friends, Andy Greening and Mike Williams; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mansel and Eunice Fields, and Grady and Lottie Hinson; an uncle, Jeff Young; and an aunt, Hazel Rhodes.

  BOONEVILLE - Oliver "Dick" Fields, 86, died Saturday, December 25, 1999 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  Mr. Fields enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, watching wrestling, Baseball and putting his great grandson on the school bus.

Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Georgia Fields, 3 sister, Bobby Cato, Gracie Young, Carrie Christian and 2 brothers, Jimmy Fields and Will Fields.

SHANNON - Will Henry Fields, 74, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Pine Grove M.B. Church. He attended school in Shannon, then served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, yard work, gardening, and meeting people. He was proud of his military service.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Grove M.B. Church of Shannon. The Rev. George Kendrick will officiate, and the Rev. John Cox will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery. Grayson-Porter's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Bessie Finch, 90, of 200 Foster Park, Booneville, died Monday, March 23, 1992, at her home after a brief illness.

We don't realize what great doctors we have here in Iuka. We don't praise them enough and the nurses at Segars Clinic were sweet to you (Bobbie), you spoke of them many times.

Dr. Kelly and Scott Segars were always there when we I needed them. They were concerned and thoughtful of you.

Our Father in Heaven knew you could stand no more pain. It was time for you to join Him in , His Heavenly home. Death is not snuffing out life's flame precipitating strife; it's like the first faint flush of dawn and death is not some dead-end street where life abruptly ends; it is a door that leads to realms where fairer life begins. Death is not endless wandering like the trails the Nomads trod; it is the sweetest road to life, the nearest path to God. Death is not some dark ordeal necessitating fear, for it's as calm as peaceful sleep. In arms of someone dear.

Bobbie Sue Finch, 56, of Iuka, Ms., died Monday, March 18, 1991 at the Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Al. She was a retired teacher from the Iuka Elementary School. She was a member of the Iuka Methodist Church and the Twentieth Century Club.

ELLIS W. FINCH

BOONEVILLE - Ellis W. Finch, 75, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Northeast Medical Center Hospital in Humble, Texas, after a long illness. He was an attorney in Booneville for 50 years and a member of the Prentiss County Bar Association. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Steen, and her husband, Wesley, of Kingwood, Texas; four grandchildren, Anna Steen, Jay Steen and Lee Wilson Steen, all of Kingwood, Texas, and Chloea Wiig.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Saturday.

JESSE DANIEL FINCH

Afternoon funeral services were held in Iuka Saturday, September 26, 1987, for Jesse Daniel Finch. Mr. Finch died Thursday at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

A host of friends gathered to console the Finch family, and to pay their last respects in the sanctuary of Iuka Baptist Church as Dr. Julian West delivered the eulogy. The body was interred In Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Finch was born November 11, 1893, in Prentiss County. He attended New Site School and Mississippi Normal College prior to being drafted into military service World War I. After his enlistment, he returned to school at the University of Mississippi earning both his B. S. and M. A. degrees. His teaching career began in the Delta, then two years in Belmont, followed by seven years at Red Bay, Alabama. He decided to go into law and attended Cumberland University Law School in Lebanon, Tennessee. He opened his law office in Iuka in July 1935 on Front Street above the area now occupied by the Kenwin Shop. He served as prosecuting attorney in Tishomingo County for 14 years with his office in the old Courthouse, then went back to private law practice.

During his active law years, he was 'a charter member of the Rotary Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the American Legion. In earlier times, he taught the men's Bible class for years and at one time taught a young couples class at the Iuka Baptist Church where he was a member. Being a man of eloquent speech and having a Biblical knowledge, on occasion he very capably filled the pulpit in absence of the preacher.

Mr. Finch was a familiar figure about town in Iuka as he took daily walks down Front Street talking with "the people who made me", we recall him saying. Always of a cheerful disposition, he was quite witty as well, sharing his wealth of wisdom and knowledge with those he came in contact with. He is remembered as the handsome gentleman who had a friendly wave or shake of the hand and one who always tipped his hat to the ladies. He enjoyed his retirement years and found gardening to be a favorite hobby along with his fondness for fishing.

Among those greatly grieved by the death of one of Iuka's favorite senior citizens, Jesse Daniel Finch, are the following survivors: his wife, Jimmie Finch of Iuka: one daughter, Ann Finch Hastings of Montreal. Canada: two sons, Barry Finch and Braxton Finch, both of luka; one sister, Ethel Hester of Biloxi: six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Those serving as pallbearers were Ellis Finch of Booneville, nephew; John Hester, Gulfport, nephew; Blake Finch. Moline, Illinois, grandson; Dan Finch, Iuka; grandson, Gene Jourdan and Ernest Bullard, both of Iuka.

JAMES BARRY FINCH

IUKA - James Barry Finch, 59, died Saturday, May 29, 1993, in Gulfport. He was an attorney in Iuka since 1958, and a member of the American Bar Association and the Tishomingo County Bar Association. He was a founding member and director of Iuka Heritage Inc.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W. T. Dexter officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Finch and Brett Finch, both of Iuka; one sister, Ann Hastings of Montreal, Canada; one brother, Braxton Finch of Iuka; one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Earnest Bullard, Gene Jourdan, Frank Burns, Tony Gaines. Scotty Edge, Keith 1 Tice, Neil Davis and D. O. Jourdan III.

MAXINE B. FINCH

Maxine B. Finch, 78, died Wednesday, July 31, 1996, at the Iuka Hospital. She was a native of Mississippi and a homemaker. She was a member of the Tishomingo Methodist Church, the Tishomingo United Methodist Women, the Chamber of Commerce and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge E. Finch.

Services were at 11 a.m. Friday at Tishomingo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Kennedy and the Rev. John Savoy officiating. Burial was in the Tishomingo City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of the arrangements. .

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Yarbrough of Tishomingo; one son Talmadge Finch of Booneville; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE - Patricia Ann "Pat" Michael Finch, 55, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, in Memphis. She was born May 20, 1947, in Booneville to Rubin Franklin Michael and Effie Bernice Weeks Michael. She was an interior designer and decorator, and a Baptist. She loved her grandchildren. She was a friend to all who knew her.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Marshall and Bro. Russell Hamm officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery in Jumpertown.

Survivors include a daughter, Vickie and Paul Patterson of Knoxville, Tenn.; her mother, Bernice Michael of Booneville; two sisters, Ouida and Ray Massengill of Rienzi, and Sandra and Jerry Walden of Booneville; two brothers, Charles and Sue.Michael of Tupelo, and Gerald and Shirley Michael of Oxford; four grandchildren, Paul Clark, Lakin, Laney and Blake; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Don Gray of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rubin Michael.

POPE – Mary Ann Alford Fisher, 89, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville. She was born April 20, 1918, in Tallahatchie County to Hunter and Margaret Laughlin Alford. She was a retired clerk and homemaker, and a member of Pope Baptist Church. She was the widow of Woodrow Wilson Fisher Sr.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Oakland. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Claire Fisher Hartzell (Roy) of Sledge; two sons, Woodrow Wilson Fisher Jr. (Ann) of Florence, Ala., and Joe Raymond Fisher (Roxana) of Booneville; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

RALPH FISHER

BOONEVILLE – Ralph O'Neal Fisher, 66, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis after an extended ill­ness. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force.

Graveside services will be at 1 a.m. today at Jumpertown Cemetery with Coleman Mooney officiating. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

WOODROW W. FISHER

Woodrow W. Fisher, 84, of Pope, Miss., died Friday, Dec. 20, 1996, at Baptist Memorial North Mississippi in Oxford.

Services were Sunday, Dec. 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in with the Rev. Al Mullins and the Rev. Jimmy Bryant officiating. Burial Springhill Cemetery in Charleston, Miss.

Mr. Fisher was a retired mechanic for the Mississippi Department of Transition for 22 years of service. He was a member of Pope Baptist Church and veteran of World War II. He was born Nov. 19, 1912, in Tallahatchie County to Dennis B. and Mary Claire Longmire Fisher.

Survived by his wife, Mary Ann Alford Fisher of Pope; a daughter, Marie Fisher Hartzell of Sledge; two sons, W.W. Fisher Jr. of Florence, Ala., and Ray Fisher of Booneville; a brother, Hubert R. Fisher of Charleston, S.C. six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

FANNIE FITZGERALD

CORINTH - Fannie Lou Seagraves Fitzgerald, 82, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Corinth Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman-Family Chapel with Bro. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial will be in the Fisherville, Tenn., Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, James Fitzgerald and wife, Juanita, of Corinth and Jimmy Fitzgerald and wife, Barbara, of Sharon, Tenn.; three daughters, Frances Whittemore and husband, Jesse, of Oakland, Tenn., Dorothy Kelley and husband, B.K., of Somerville, Tenn., and Linda Goodman of Dresden, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Fitzgerald; a son, William Sylvester Fitzgerald; and her parents, D.C. and Dellie Smith Seagraves.

HERBERT A. FIVEASH

WALNUT - Herbert A. Fiveash, 79, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born June 3, 1925, in Alcorn County to Charlie and Annie Bragg Fiveash. He was retired from the logging business.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Hamm and the Rev. Clay Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Temple Apostolic Church Cemetery in Walnut.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Prince Fiveash of Walnut; a brother, Earl Fiveash of Walnut; a half sister, Patty Crum of Walnut; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rufus Fiveash, Lester Fiveash and Jimmy Fiveash; and two sisters, Avis Mathis and Lela Barnes.

BILLY R. FLANAGAN

BURNSVILLE - A Tishomingo County man was killed early Monday morning in a one-car accident on Mississippi 365.

A spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Billy R. Flanagan, 48, Route 6, Box 266, Burnsville, died, October 5, 1992, when his car ran off the road about 4 ½ miles south of Burnsville.

The accident happened about 6:01 a.m. and no seat belts were worn. Flanagan was the sole passenger in the vehicle. He was taken to Tishomingo County Hospital, where he died from injuries received in the wreck.

CORINTH - Dwayne E. "Ed" Flanagan Sr., 55, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a member of Hilltop Church of God.

IUKA - Katie Flanagan, 83, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at the Tishomingo Manor in Iuka.

Survivors include two sons, Amos "Buddy" Flanagan Jr. of Iuka and Willis "Dewy" Flanagan of Tishomingo; two daughters, Jessie Tesseneer of Belmont and Connie Eaton of Tishomingo; a brother, Howard Davis of Sheffield, Ala.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Flanagan Sr., and her parents, Jesse and Mary Lee Davis.

RUTH FLANAGAN

BOONEVILLE ‑ Ruth Flanagan, 38, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at Maplewood Healthcare Facility in Jackson, Tenn., after an extended Illness. She was retired from the Garment industry and was a Bap­tist.

Survivors include one sister, Eara Gained of Jackson. Tom.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Flanagan; and two brothers, Clyde Glover and Millard Glover.

DOYLE FLEMING

MANTACHIE – Doyle Dewayne Fleming, 18, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born May 31, 1981. He was a construction worker and a Baptist.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Thomas Langley officiating.

Survivors include his father, Tommy Lee Fleming of Mantachie; his mother, Lesha Gene Fleming of Mooreville; a sister, Carrie Lee Fleming of Tupelo; his grandparents, Doyle Gene and Gay Mixon of Plantersville, and Patsy Hughes of Fulton; one niece; one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Diddie and Pairlee Fleming.


FRANK FLEMING

BOONEVILLE – Booneville’s longtime fire chief, Frank Fleming, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was 55.

Funeral services are scheduled Thursday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Ferrell and the Rev. Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery. Booneville firemen will serve as pallbearers.

The flag at Booneville City Hall was flown at half-mast Wednesday in Fleming’s memory.

He had been diagnosed with cancer two months ago.

Fleming’s name was synonymous with the Booneville Fire Department after having worked there 38 years. He began working at the fire department in September of 19959 when he was only 17. He became fire chief in 1971.

One of the words used repeatedly by his friends and co-workers to describe him was his dedication to his job.

“He was the most dedicated man that ever has been or will be to the city of Booneville,” said William Boyd Cook, assistant chief, who has worked with Fleming for 24 years.

“He was honest, dependable and loyal. He was a boss, a friend, a brother… whatever you needed him for he was there.”

Capt. Paul Kennedy, who also worked with Fleming at the fire department for 24 years, described him as a good friend who was caring and dedicated. “The fire department was his life – what he enjoyed doing,” Kennedy said.


GARY FLEMING

NEW SITE – Gerald Wayne “Gary” Fleming, 52, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident. He was a foreman at Smurfit-Stone Container and the fire chief at New Site. He was a member of the Parker Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Guin and Bro. Eldon Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the New Site Baptist Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Barnes Fleming; two sons, Casey Devaughn Fleming and Joshua Wayne Fleming, both of New Site; two sisters, Denise Fleming of Memphis and Susan and Shawn Olknow of Cummings, Ga.; and one brother James Steven and Deborah Fleming of Hernando.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Marlene Fleming.

RIENZI - Hunter Gage Fleming, 3 months, died Monday, May 3, 2004, at his home.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Wade Fleming 45, died Saturday. July 25, 1998, at his home. He was a mechanic a Lucky Star Industries in Baldwyn. He was a member of Hills Chapel Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard from Dec. 3, 1972 until Dec., 1978. He left the guard as a sergeant with an honorable discharge from Co. B, list BN Armored Division He was preceded in death by his father, M. D. Flaming, and one brother, Bobby Fleming.

BELMONT - Edward L. Flowers, 74, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in Collierville, Tenn. He was born Aug. 13, 1930, in Carthage. He was retired from Auto Zone after 13 years and also was employed by Action Auto Parts in Memphis. He was a first sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Cleston Hulon Floyd 67, Saturday, March 27, 1999 died home in Booneville following his sudden illness.

Services were Tuesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marshall Tennison Officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in the Cairo community.

Mr. Floyd was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Prentiss County to John and Rosie Holland Floyd. Disabled for the past several years, he had been a factory worker in the furniture industry. He attended Fairview Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and playing pool.

He is survived by his wife, Lela Griffith Floyd; a son, Bobby Moore and his wife, Wendy, of Booneville; a brother, Dewey Lee Floyd of Birmingham Moore; two grandchildren, Amber Moore and Kisha.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. C. Floyd and Lester "Bo" Floyd; and a sister, Willie Mae Moss.

Pallbearers were Daniel Holland, Gene Bishop, Charles Holland, Milton Bishop, Larry Bullock and

Ray Floyd.

ELEANOR FLOYD

TISHOMINGO - Eleanor "Sissy" Floyd, 60, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at the Iuka Hospital. She was a member of the South Crossroads Baptist Church. She was a member and secretary of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and football.

BOONEVILLE - Gayle Floyd, 62, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was involved in law enforcement for 12 years and served as a Prentiss County 1st District supervisor for five years. He was in the used car business most of his life. He was a member of Zion Rest Church of Christ. A keen observer of politics, he enjoyed fishing, and visiting and helping the sick and elderly in the community.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen Burns of Booneville, end Shirley Harris and her husband, James, of New Site; two sons, Billy Floyd and his wife, Diane, of Benton, Ill., and WT. Floyd of Waukegan, Ill.; one sister, Lorene Robinson of Booneville; 20 grandchildren; 39 great‑grandchildren; 17 great‑great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Floyd, and two sons, Eugene Floyd and Bobby Lee Floyd.

BOONEVILLE - Hassell Mae Stephens Floyd, 78, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Itawamba County to Daniel Walter Stevens and Lucille Webb Stevens. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She enjoyed cooking and going to auto races.

HOWARD C. FLOYD

BELTON, Mo. - Howard C. Floyd, 79, formerly of Booneville and Baldwyn, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at the Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, Mo., after a long illness. He was a retired pharmacist, working 36 years at Houston Drugstore in Baldwyn. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed playing checkers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Minnix officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Janis Wheeler and husband, Charles, of Belton, Mo., and Susan Floyd of Hattiesburg; a sister, Louise Moore of Booneville; a brother, Milton Floyd of Booneville; two grandchildren, Rachel Huddleston of Booneville and Lauron Hohl of Leawood, Kan.; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lillie Floyd, and a sister, Helen Jones.

IVA "FAYE" FLOYD

Iva "Faye" Floyd, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2004. Faye passed away at her residence where she lived with her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Skip.

Faye was born Iva Faye Wamsley on June 27, 1922 in Burnsville, Mississippi. On May 26, 1944, she married Fletcher F. Floyd, who preceded her in death in 1976. A daughter, Aggie Floyd Clapman preceded her in death in 1996 and a sister, Eutra Shackelford and brothers, Howard and L. A. Wamsley also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Harold Floyd and his wife, Brenda of Mishawaka, Albert Floyd of Osceola, Michael Floyd of Elkhart, and Linda Miller and her husband, Skip of Osceola. Other survivors include her eight grandchildren, Kelly (David) Williams, Jodi (Chip) Kenaga, Deanna (Ted) Knauss, Greg Floyd, Katie Floyd-Clapman, Ben Floyd-Clapman, Frank (Christie) Miller and Nicholas Miller. Very special in her life also included her eight great-grandchildren, Zachary and Courtney Kenaga, Corbin Floyd, Joe, Ian Merideth and Emma Williams, and Madison Miller.

She is also survived by her sisters, Johnnie (Garold) Ledgewood, Marie Duckworth and two sisters-in-law, Anita Wamsley and Myrtle Wamsley, all of Burnsville, along with many nieces and nephews.

Faye's life revolved around her family and she spent most weekends spending time with them. She was well known for her homemade biscuits and fried pies. She loved to quilt and made each grandchild a special quilt as they graduated High School. Faye was one of the original members who first began what is now known as New Life Baptist Church in Osceola. She was always active with Women's missions Ministries, Children's Bible School, Children's Nursery and her Sunday School Class (the Senior Saints). She spent her life teaching her children to love the Lord as she did. Faye was a wonderful example to her family and we all felt very blessed to have had her in our lives and call her "Mom" or "Granny". She will be profoundly missed.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5th at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana with Pastor Mike Cramer officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Chapel Hill Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

BOONEVILLE - Jason Lynn Floyd, 26, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, in Alcorn County. He was born Jan. 2, 1978, in Tupelo to Bruce W. Floyd and Mary Annette White Floyd. He was a construction worker and a member of the Jacinto Volunteer Fire Department. He was an MCWA wrestler. He enjoyed fishing, working with electronics and watching wrestling.

Ken Nicole Floyd, infant daughter of Terry and Lena Floyd of Booneville, died Tuesday. Jan. 31. 1995. at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis.

Services were Thursday. Feb. 2, at 10 a, at Fairview Church of God with Bro. Marshall Tennison and Bro. Chester Harrison officiating Burial was in Fairview Church of God Cemetery. Bonneville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, John Floyd of the home; a sister, Kimberly Floyd of the home; her grand parents, Lawrence and Patricia Franks of Baldwyn and Hassell Floyd of Booneville; and several aunts and uncles.

KENNETH FLOYD

BOONEVILLE - Kenneth Eugene Floyd Sr., 62, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 his home in Booneville. He was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Booneville to Clifton Floyd and Bessie Pharr Floyd, was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ. He served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam, War. A timber cutter for must of his work life, he a worked for the Mississippi Highway Department for about 10 years and owned sawmill for about five years. He was farmer, growing primarily cattle, sorghum d watermelons. He was philosopher and a master storytelling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Sean Weaver and Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Googe Floyd, whom he married Aug. 30,

1963; a son, Kenneth E. Floyd II of Booneville; two daughters, Molly Hodge and her husband, Stewart, of Booneville, and Melanie Iskander an her husband, Henein, of Forrest City, Ark.; his mother a brother, Gayle Floyd, of Booneville; a sister, Bettie Jo Hill of Booneville; two grandchildren, Lauren and Natalie Iskander; three special children, Reed, Stormy and Destin; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Jefferson Floyd; his father; a brother, Boyd Floyd; and an infant brother, Roy Clifton Floyd.

Pallbearers will be James Melvin, Russell Burdette, Joe McCarter, Tommy Shields, Ronnie Lindley and Tommy Sanders.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LAWRENCE J. FLOYD

IUKA - Lawrence J. Floyd, 80, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ludlam Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Holcomb will officiate.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lora Maye Floyd of Iuka; a daughter, Mayecilla (Macey) Hart and her husband Jim of Chicago, Ill; two brothers, Recil Carlos Floyd of Hico, Texas and Johnny A. Floyd of Desto, Texas; three grandchildren, David and Alicia Hart, Jon and Christie Hart and Michael (Mike) and Jenny Hart; five great-grandchildren, Kyle Hart, Sophia Hart, Nathan Hart, Dylan Hart and Alexandra (Allie) Hart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlander and Pinkie Floyd, a brother and three sisters.

Pallbearers are William Earl Floyd, Anthony (Andy) Floyd, Lynn Helton, Jason Helton, Andrew Helton and Sean Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Byrom's men's class of Iuka Baptist Church.

LEWIS FLOYD

CORINTH - Lewis Earl Floyd, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1971. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart. He retired as a Master Chief aboard the USS George Clymer. He retired to Corinth, where he became well known in civic affairs in Corinth and Alcorn County. He became an active member of Corinth Theatre-Arts, where he made his stage debut in 1971 as Dr. Chumley in "Harvey." He also appeared in "The Miracle Worker" and "To Kill a Mockingbird," and received a Magnolia Award for his role as W.O. Gant in "Look Homeward Angel." His biggest role was that of William Jennings Bryant, along with his close friend, Hank Worsham, in "the Scope Trial-Destiny in Dayton." He participated in many other productions in more than 20 years with the theater.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Coleman-Family Chapel with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Carl Floyd of Corinth; two daughters, Sheila Genung of Poway, Calif., and Cynthia Phillips of Counce, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chris Genung, Tracy Driscoll, Theresa Genung, all of Poway, Calif., Samantha Young of Counce, Tenn., and Thomas "Jaxx" Whitaker of Corinth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Lillian McCoy Floyd; his wife, Florence Penelope Stewart Floyd.

MARK FLOYD

BOONEVILLE - Mark Jefferson Floyd, 22, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in Oxford. He attended New Site High School from 1991-1993. He was employed with his father in the logging and farming business. He was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He attended Zion's Rest Church of Christ. He enjoyed the woods and deer hunting.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Kathryn Floyd of Booneville;

two sisters, Melanie Iskander and her husband, Henein, of Forrest City, Ark., and Molly Hodges and her husband, Stewart, of Oxford; one brother, Kenny Floyd of Newark, N. J.; his grandparents, Nellie Googe and Bessie Floyd, both of Booneville; two nieces, Natalie and Lauren Iskander of Forrest City, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, S. G. Googe and Roy Floyd.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Mary M. Floyd, 74, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Booneville Baptist Hospital after a long illness. She was a retired regis­ter nurse with 40 years of service. She was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ.

GUNTOWN - Orville Earl Floyd, 54, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Guntown. He was self-employed. He was a member of the Guntown Assembly of God and a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Guntown Assembly of God with Bro. Merle Floyd and Bro. Mark Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the Campbelltown Cemetery. Waters Funeral home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Floyd of Guntown; a son, Roger Brooks and Sonya, of Guntown; a daughter, Rhonda Jennings and Tommy of Iuka; six grandchildren, Summer and Corye Jennings, Josh Williams, and Kristen, Hunter and Kelsey Brooks; his mother, Emma Jean Floyd of Guntown; three brothers, Harvey Floyd, Robert Floyd and Johnny Floyd, all of Guntown; two sisters, Betty McColum and Becky Johnson of Guntown.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Floyd, and a daughter, Tammy Floyd.

CORINTH - Polly Elizabeth Floyd, 68, formerly of Memphis, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Frayser Church of Christ in Memphis.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Walker and Bro. Excail Burleson officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Richard Floyd and his wife, Paula, of Azle, Texas; her mother, Velma Rinehart of Booneville; two granddaughters, Nicole Stewart and Letisha Floyd; her great-grandson, Jamie Floyd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Floyd; her father, Lloyd Rinehart; and an infant brother.

RANDEL FLOYD

BOONEVILLE ‑Randel Willis Floyd, 59 died Saturday, July 3, 1999, at the Iuka Hospital as the result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a motor vehicle on Highway 25 in Tishomingo County. He was born Feb. 3, 1940, in Alcorn County. A gradu­ate of Rienzi High School, he attended Northeast Mississippi Com­munity College. He was a self-employed carpenter. An ordained minister and Bible study teacher, he was a member of the Gospel Light­house Pentecostal Church in Tishomingo, where he was the church secretary/treasurer. He was an accomplished guitar player. He also enjoyed bow and rifle hunting, and fishing. He married Sue Morgan on Nov. 27, 1959.

Services will be at 4 P. M. today at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Tishomingo with Bro. William H. "Bill" Burcham and Bro. Donald Boren officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Church of God Cemetery in Pren­tiss County. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements

BALDWYN – Raymond Ward Floyd, 78, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a retired cab driver and farmer, and a Pentecostal. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include 12 children, Richard (Alice) Floyd of the Jericho community, Billy Joe (Brenda) Floyd of Guntown, Jim (Mary) Floyd of Baldwyn, Ricky (Anita) Floyd of Guntown, Pennie Martin of Jericho community, Winnie (Tim) Carter of Jericho, Scotty Floyd of Baldwyn, Angie (Scott) McDonald of Guntown, Danny Floyd of Baldwyn, Doug (Amanda) Floyd of Guntown, Mitchell Floyd of St. Genevieve, Mo., and Kristie Floyd of Jasper, Ala,; one sister, Jewell Rowe; three brothers, Bobby Floyd, Jerry Floyd and Hoyt Ray Floyd; 45 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Floyd; one son, Terry Floyd; an adopted son, Sammy Blaylock; two sisters, Ruby Calamese and Lorette Blaylock; three brothers, Sammy Floyd, Archie Floyd and James Floyd; and his parents, Oscar and Myrtle Floyd.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

CORINTH - Robert Lewis Floyd Jr., 75, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at the McNairy Regional Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Rest Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Willette Floyd; three sons, Wilbert Floyd, Gerald Floyd and Robert Floyd; three daughters, Mattie Floyd, Josephine Floyd and Denise Arnold; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Curlee Floyd, and four sisters, Ollie Hasten, Nellie Ben McGee, Mattie Glenn Judd and Elizabeth Floyd.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Ruth Bolton Floyd, 92, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. She was born July 8, 1909, to the late DeWitt and lzora Harris Bolton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Booneville Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home with Minis tar J. A. Thornton and the Rev. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery.

Survivors include six daughters, Bob­ble Huddleston, Martha Tyra and Evelyn Floyd, all of Booneville, Elizabeth Chisholm and her husband, Charles, of Canton, Sarah Parker and her husband, O'Neil, of Memphis, and Barbara He banks and her husband, Tom, of Jasper, Ga.; a daughter-in‑law, Pam Floyd of Booneville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, five great‑great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Floyd; a daughter, Mary Floyd: two sons, Harrell and Kenneth Floyd: two sans‑ in‑law, Grafton Huddleston and Gordon Tyra; and a grandson. Keith Sullins.

BALDWYN - Ruthie Mae "Granny" Floyd, 69, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center. She was a retired employee of Lucky Star Mfg. and a member of the Temple of Jesus Christ Church.

TRAVIS ODELL FLOYD

Travis Odell Floyd, 61, of Joiner, Ark., died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Osceola, Ark. .

Services were Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at Roller-Swift Fu­neral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Clemons officiating. Burial was in Louise Chapel.

Mr. Floyd was born July 30, 1940, in Booneville. He was a meat cuter. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Floyd.

He is survived by two sons, Travis P. Floyd of Collierville, Tenn., and Rodney Floyd of Memphis; three brothers, Raymond Floyd of Phoenix, Ark., Freddie Floyd of South Boston, Va., and Charles Floyd of Como, Miss.; three sisters, Evelyn Lawson of Booneville, Barbara Storey of Tupelo and Beth Williams of Blytheville, Ark.; and two grandchildren.

TULON FLOYD

BOONEVILLE ‑ Lee Tulon Floyd, 70, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home after an extended illness. He was a retired factory worker at North Mississippi Uniform Rental. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocky Lee and Esther Lee Floyd; one sister, Opal Floyd; and six brothers, Ophas, Cecil, Troy, Clettis, Jerry and Larry Floyd.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Jimmy Burcham and Bishop Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mormon Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE - William T. "W. T." Floyd, 60, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at Pavilion Nursing Facility in Waukegan, III., after a long illness. He was an automobile salesman, a Baptist and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Waukegan.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindi Cain of Jonesboro, Ark., and Kim Authement and her husband, Rodney. of Memphis; two sons, Mark Floyd and his wife, Kathy, of Nashville, Tenn., and Matthew Floyd of Memphis; two sisters, Helen Burns of Booneville, and Shirley Harris and her husband, James, of New Site; a brother, Billy Floyd and his wife, Diane, of Benton, Ill.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Gertrude Floyd, and two brothers, Bobby and Eugene Floyd.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Willis Anthony Floyd, 30, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Huntsville Hospital. He attended Corinth High School. He was an assistant manager at Crystal's in Huntsville. He was well-known by many.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with the Rev. John Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Corinth.

Survivors include his wife, Gina Dorsey Floyd; his adoptive parents, Louis and Cardill Floyd; a daughter, Kashira Floyd of Huntsville; a stepdaughter, Chelsey Dorsey of Huntsville; a brother, Jamie Floyd of Corinth; four sisters, Sherry Floyd of Corinth, Glenda Floyd of Guys, Tenn., Mary Channele of Booneville and Cheryl Vance of Ripley.

GATTMAN - Bobby Gene Flurry, 65, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in Tupelo. He was born June 5, 1937, in Monroe County to the late Jake and Dillie Merchant Flurry. He was a graduate of Greenwood Springs School and a Baptist. He was a former employee of a lumber yard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Gattman Holiness Church. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Ala., is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Danny Flurry and wife, Gladys, of Booneville; a daughter, Sheila Kuykendall and husband, James, of Corinth; a brother, James Ronald Flurry of Gattman; a sister-in-law, Barbara Flurry of Gattman; four grandchildren, Chris Flurry, Kristi Flurry, D. J. Flurry and Chad Kuykendall; three great-grandchildren, Blake Flurry, Reed Flurry and Austin Harris.
