"Home Ceremony Unites Miss Monta Harding And Lieutenant Joseph Fredrich Bledsoe"

"A note of simplicity and sweetness lent distinction to the informal wedding of Miss Monta Harding and Lieutenant Joseph Fredrich Bledsoe, U.S. Army Air Corps, which was solemized at 5:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents on West Harding Street. The double-ring ceremony was said by Dr. Edw. J. Caswell in the presence of the families of the bride and bridegroom and a few close friends.

"For the wedding, the home had been decorated in the traditional green and white, with Spring flowers adding a touch of color to the attractive living room. The improvised altar in the dining room was composed of tall baskets of spirea and greenery, flanked by standards supporting cathedral candelebra. The sacred vows were said in front of double windows which formed the background for this perfect setting.

"Nuptial music was rendered by Miss Emma Jones Wells and consisted of the traditional Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin and Saint-Saens' "My Heart At Thy Sweet Voice."

"Preceeding the ceremony, Miss Wells, in an orchid suit, with yellow rose corsage, lighted the candles, which lent a soft glow to the beautiful setting.

"The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Willard Harding, was lovely in a two piece classic gray suit with black accessories, and an orchid corsage.

"Miss Katherine McIntyre attended Miss Harding as bridesmaid, and was becomingly dressed in a gold suit with matching hat, and a corsage of Dutch iris. Little Danice Brewer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Brewer, sweetly dressed in pink with a blue corsage, acted as ring bearer, bringing in the two rings on a heart-shaped pillow.

"Bill Harding, brother of the bride, attended Lieut. Bledsow as best man.

"The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Harding, is a graduate of the Greenwood Schools, and attended Millsaps College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

"Lieutenant Bledsoe is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Bledsoe, of Collins, Miss., a graduate of Millsaps, and a member of Sigma Rho Chi. He has been on active dity with the Air Corps in Alaska, and after a short wedding trip, he will return to Alaska, while Mrs. Bledsoe will remain in Greenwood for the present.

"Among the out-of-town guests for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Glick Jr., and Mrs. Frank Glick Sr., of Forest, and Mrs. Herbert Bledsoe of Jackson."

Bride Elect Honored At Bridge-Luncheon

"One of the lovliest of the many pre-nuptial affairs honoring Miss Laura Vance Marion was the bridge-luncheon given by Mrs. Otis Allen on Saturday at Mrs. Harmon's home on Washington Street.

"The house was beautifully decorated throughout with unusual arrangements of white spring flowers and camellias.

"Reveiving the guests at the door were Mrs. Harmon, who wore a lilac sport dress, Mrs. Allen in blue crepe, and the honoree, who wore a spring model of green gaberdine and a corsage of delicate pink camellias and hyacinths.

"The delicious luncheon was served at quartet tables which were covered with quaint lace and cut-work cothes. In the center of each table was a dainty bridal bouquet of spring flowers.

"The hostesses' gift to the bride-elect was a handsome pottery vase. A bridal bouquet of handkerchiefs was presented to her by the hostesses and the guests. High score prize was won by Mrs. Kathleen Bankston.

"The guest list included Mrs. J.P. Marion, Mrs. John B. Dickson, Miss Alice Decellem and Mrs. Mary Wyatt, who were luncheon guests only, and Miss Susan Wade, Miss Frances Alford, Miss Frances Eggleston, Miss Mary Martha Delmar, Miss Ann Peeples, Mrs. E.S. Bowlus, Mrs. Maury McIntyre, Mrs. Vernon Duke, Mrs. Ross Spann and Mrs. [inreadable]."
