Johnnie Williams EVANS
d. Sept. 18, 1962

Mrs. D.L. Evans died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home in the  Union community near Plantersville.  She was 83. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Union Methodist Church with the Rev. Porter Gunter officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with Spain Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Evans was a daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. Jim Williams of Verona.  She was a member of Union Methodist Church.  She leaves four sons, Edgar Evans of Tupelo, David Evans of Union, C.L. Evans of Franklin, La., and Boyd Evans of Memphis; a daughter, Mrs. Jewell Pearsell of Tupelo; a sister, Mrs. Will Conn of Birmingham, Ala.;  15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Medford Knowles, Bill Gray, Dick Holloway, George Crow, J.M. Savery, Jr., Billy Rinehart and  Don Harrison, Jr. The body will be at the funeral home until it is carried to the church at 1 p.m. to lie in state until time for services.
