In the name of the Almighty God, Amen.
I, John Cole being of sound mind and understanding I do make this my last will and testament, to wit: 1st, my body to be returned to the dust, my soul to God who gave it.
2d, I give to my beloved son-in-law, Jasper N Burkett, all the following described property under the hereinafter expressed conditions: 1 old sorrell horse, valued at $40.00, 2 cows and calves, at $15.00 each - $30.00, my corn to be fed to my hogs for the use of the family, all my farming utensils and gear, 3 notes against K Blackwell for $110.00 each due on 24 Jan 1878-79 and 1880,
1 Deed of Trust on N1/2 S 16, T 7, R 19 W, against Willis Hartzog,
1 note on J T Tyrone for $40.00
1 acct $7.50
3d I give to my beloved daughter Frances E Burkett, 2 bureaus, 1 ward-robe, 1 chest, 1/2 doz. chairs, 1 spinning mill, 1 buggy
4th I give to my beloved grand-daughter Elizabeth C Burkett my feather bed, pillows and bedding.
5th in consideration the aforementioned Jasper N Burkett is to take care of and provide for me and my beloved daugther Lavina Cole as long as the aforemen- tioned property will supply, and, if exhausted, is to furnish necessaries himself.
In conclusion, I appoint Jasper N Burkett the executor of this last will and testament.
