Funeral services conducted by Rev D E Vickers for Edmund Burdett May of Vildalia, La, were held at the Baptist church here Thursday morning, with interment following in the family cemetery. Mr May was born in Natchez, and was 33 years old. He died in the Natchez Sanitorium after having undergone an operation. His death came as a shock to many friends and relatives. His body was shipped from Natchez to Silver Creek and was carried to the home of Mrs May's sister, Mrs J F Sharp.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs Lena Benson May; his mother, Mrs Mollie Wadell May; one brother, F M May of Wesson; one sister, Mrs L S Bolian of Summit; three uncles, R L and M M Wadell of Wesson; E B Waddell of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two aunts, Mrs J C Pettigrew of Wesson, and Mrs A M Wadell of Hattiesburg.
The following out-of-town people attended the funeral: Mr and Mrs O O Shows and family; Mrs Thompson and son, Charles; Mrs Pettigrew, Frances and James Pettigrew; Mrs Dezelle and daughters, Mrs Morris and Bob Wadell, Mrs Mollie May and F M May of Wesson; Mrs L S Bolian of Summitt; Mrs A M Wadell, her son and wife, and Mrs Meadows of Hattiesburg; Mr and Mrs C L Till, Mrs Meredith, and Mrs Chapman of Jackson; Mr D V Wigner, W A Beard and son William, and nephew, Frances, all of Vildalia, La.
